Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Opening exhortation: praise that brings power, and words we say but don't believe
- He opens with the word the Lord gave him before dawn: "If you'll fill this place with praise, I'll fill it with power."
- He cites Leonard Ravenhill's warning about unbelieving believers who will one day be ashamed when somebody picks up this book and actually believes it, and applies it directly: "We say it, we don't believe it."
- The first purpose of gathering is connection with God, before fellowship with people — if he does not connect with God, he is of no value in connecting with anyone else.
Reading Numbers 15 and defining the drink offering
- He reads Numbers 15: God commands Israel that when they come into the land of their habitations, the burnt offering, vow, freewill offering, and feast offerings are to be accompanied by a drink offering.
- A drink offering was poured out, never drunk — like the so-called meat offering, which was grain and not meat, its name misleads; it was never intended to be consumed or contained.
- The wine represented joy, poured over sacrifices of consecration, voluntary offerings, peace offerings, and thanksgiving — when the fire consumed the sacrifice, the fragrance of the joy would overtake the stench of the flesh.
- Joy was never poured over a sin offering; the poured-out offering for sin was blood, drained and poured at the base of the altar, and the blood is the currency of the covenant and the ransom price for the redeemed.
Scriptures: Numbers 15
A joy promised for the land, not for the wilderness
- The drink offering was embedded in the law as a promise, but it could only be implemented when God brought Israel into the land and gave them vineyards — it belongs to life in the promised land, not to the in-between wilderness, where obedience can feel like joyless rules and restrictions.
- At Kadesh Barnea the spies cut down one cluster of grapes, so large it was carried between two men on a staff — visible proof that God would provide the joy for their sacrifices.
- Ten spies still brought an evil report and refused to enter, though God was ready at that moment to bring them in and fulfill His promise.
Scriptures: Exodus 29:40; Numbers 13:23
Pouring joy over the living sacrifice
- The drink offering was not for the fire — liquid would normally quench it — but to amplify what the fire touched; poured over the sacrifice, the wine was transformed with it into a sweet-smelling savor.
- Applied to believers: presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice should not be a joyless drudgery or mere duty, but a living sacrifice of thanksgiving accompanied by a poured-out offering of joy — the fruit of our lips.
- No one is required to pour out what God has not first poured in: God gives the land and the vineyards so His people will worship Him, so if He has done anything for you, you have something to pour back out on the sacrifice of praise.
- When the drink offering was cut off, as Joel described, it meant judgment — drought dries up the vineyards, and there is no joy in a life where God's blessing has lifted.
Elijah pours out water in the drought on Mount Carmel
- Elijah prayed the heavens shut for three and a half years, a judgment by design that would end in a challenge to all Israel; meanwhile Obadiah had hidden a hundred prophets in caves and kept them in water through the drought.
- Carmel was not a sin offering but a vow of consecration — let the God who answers by fire be God — and a sacrifice of commitment required something to pour over it.
- In a land where everything had dried up, Elijah had four barrels filled with water three times over and poured out — an extravagant pouring out before God would answer by fire and pour back in; extreme conditions call for extraordinary measures, and it is no time for the church to become tame while the world has become wild.
Scriptures: 1 Kings 18:37
Drawing with joy from the wells of salvation
- We have learned to manage our fullness like waiters balancing a tray — we define what is full and stop when the music, the singing, or the preaching stops — but God's measure of fullness is pressed down, shaken together, and running over, rivers of living water flowing out.
- Some wells are not dependent on rain: believers can revisit wells of healing, deliverance from addiction, restored marriages, and needs God has met, and draw joy to pour out from what He has done.
- Behind all of them is the common well of salvation — he recalls his own night in June 1967 when the Lord filled him with the baptism of the Holy Ghost — and with joy we draw water from the wells of salvation; ordinary things, like water, are transformed when poured out as an offering.
Mary pours out the ointment, and the closing appeal to pour out now
- In Matthew 26, two days before the Passover at the house of Simon the leper, Simon sat, Lazarus lounged, the apostles who had seen every miracle were apathetic, and Martha was busy serving — but Mary, who had only sat at the feet of Jesus, got up to pour out what she had been saving.
- She poured the ointment on His body and the house was filled with its aroma; what one person pours out is not for themselves alone — it fills the room and the whole body is anointed by it, and Jesus said she had done it for His burial.
- He closes with an open, house-wide appeal: God wants to move from front to back, in the overflow rooms, wherever people sit — if we will pour out, He will pour in.
- He warns that the church is leaving and some will come wanting to pour out when it is too late; the Holy Ghost can be received today, so he calls the church to lift a final outpouring of praise worthy of the Lord who is present in the house.
- After the song he leads the church in sustained praise, declaring this is what we were created to do — if you want to praise Him today, praise Him today; if you want to encounter God today, encounter Him today.
- As the church pours out its offering of praise, he declares that God pours in: God is breaking in through the praise — into situations, difficulty and struggle — bringing strength, and peace is found today through praise.

Oh, I thought I was in the apostolic church today. There is no other name that has such power. Woo! I have the assurance of the Lord today. I was awakened hours before the first blush of dawn today and the Lord said, "If you'll fill this place with praise, I'll fill it with power." If you'll fill this place with praise, I will fill it with power. Jesus, I hope we believe this book right here. We heard about it this morning. Leonard Ravenh Hill, I've mentioned this before, but Leonard Ravenhill in his book on why revival terries said in chapter 6, unbelieving believers, he said, "Someday somebody is going to pick up this book and they're going to believe it and the rest of us are going to be ashamed."
We say things we don't believe. I'll get to that in a minute. But again, I want if you're here today for um connection, God bless you. Our first and primary purpose is to connect with God. With God. If I don't connect with God, I am absolutely of no value in connecting with you. I, you, we all must connect first of all with God. I have not come simply for the fellowship of the people and I love you and I love the fellowship of God's people. But first and foremost, I am here.
to make sure that I stand in the presence of almighty God today. Woo! Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Will you help me preach today? Well, that's five of you. What about the rest of you? Amen. Amen. I'm going to preach from Numbers the 15th chapter. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. And I know Pastor Brad some time ago he said that Leviticus was not necessarily one of his favorite books. I I love Leviticus because of the detailed descriptions. Somebody said, "If you want to know what God thinks about holiness, just read the book of Leviticus."
There are so many Easter eggs, so many hidden gems in that book. And also in numbers, a reiteration of these things. But uh and uh I I love it. I love it to uncover these things because uh many times we preach from scriptures that we have plowed many many times. But I want to I want to bring to you today a thought from Numbers chapter 15 beginning at verse 1 says this. And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, when ye become into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you, I want you to read that with me.
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you, this is a promise. It's a promise. God says, "Come a time you're going to occupy the land. I'm going to give it to you. And so when when this happens and you will make an offering by fire unto the Lord, a burnt offering or a sacrifice in performing a vow or in a free will offering or in your solemn feast to make a sweet savor unto the Lord of the herd or of the flock.
Then shall he that offerth his offering unto the Lord bring a meat offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hen of oil and the fourth part of an hen. Now a hen is a quart approximately a quart. So a fourth part of a I'm sorry a gallon. A fourth part would be a quart. uh for a drink offering shalt thou prepare with the burnt offering or sacrifice for one lamb. Now, God bless you. You can be seated. I'm going to explain something here as we begin this.
And that is that God said when this this can't happen immediately when you come into the hab the land of your habitations and you start bringing offerings. He said I want you to also with that sacrifice to bring a drink offering. A drink offering. And that's what I want to preach about today is a a drink offering. It's somewhat of a misnomer, somewhat misleading because it wasn't something that anybody would drink. It was poured out. It was more of a poured out offering. It's but much like when he mentions here a meat offering, it wasn't meat.
It was a grain offering. And when uh when the Bible talks about corn, it's not talking about the corn like we have on the cob. It's a it's a grain offering, a produce offering. Uh and and so many of these terms can be misdirecting us. But a drink offering was to be poured out. It was never intended to be consumed nor contained. He said when you come into the land of your habitations, these are going to be these are going to be poured out. They are not the sacrifice themselves, but they will accompany the sacrifice.
They will be poured over the sacrifice. Now the details are given in numbers chapter 15 for these poured out drink offerings. The the wine of course biblically speaking always represented joy. It represented the joyous aspect and it was reserved to be poured on these sacrifices there. Not not all sacrifices would receive this joy being poured over them. There were these are the sacrifices that would that you would pour your joy over. When you were vowing uh a vow of consecration, there should be some joy involved in that.
When you were giving a voluntary sacrifice, there should be some joy in that. When you are bringing a peace offering, there should be some joy over that. When you are giving an offering of a sacrifice of thanksgiving, there should that should be a joyous occasion and you should pour a drink offering over that. and all of the feasts and festivals that of celebration in all of these you would pour a drink offering of wine and oil and it was symbolic of the blessing and the joy uh it was over this sacrifice that God had blessed the sweet smell of the wine would produce a fragrance that was pleasing to God.
And when the fire consumed the sacrifice, the sweet smell of the wine, the joy would overtake the stench of the flesh. It would cover it up. It was never, these drink offerings were never intended for any kind of sin offerings. You didn't pour joy over sin because there was nothing about a sin offering over which to rejoice. The poured out offering for sin was blood. That was the life that was in the flesh. It was in the blood. And may I tell us today that the blood is the currency of the covenant of God.
It is the ransomed price for the redeemed. The blood never was poured on a sacrifice. As a matter of fact, it was drained from a sacrifice. And the Bible tells us that that blood, it was a drink offering, also a poured out offering, but it was poured out at the base of the altar. It was poured out at the base of the altar. The blood did not ascend like the wine did in the flames of the sacrifice. It was to be poured out at the altar.
Our first encounter with the blood is bowing at an altar, kneeling at an altar. But that same blood, you could follow the trail. And when you bowed at an altar, that blood would lead you ultimately to standing before a throne of mercy, a seed of mercy, and a throne of grace. Uh but joy was never over sin. It was blood that was over that. Um this uh this drink offering that we read about was instituted at Mount Si but it could not be implemented immediately. God says uh when you become into the land, it was embedded as a part of the law and it stood as a promise of of God, his shity that I'm going to bring you into a place where you're going to be able to fulfill this.
Uh there is not much more. There is not much joy in what I'm going to lead you through right now, but you're going to come into a land. And in Exodus 29 verse 40, it was embedded as a part of the law, but it stood as a promise of God. Even before they had vineyards, even before they had crops, uh, even when they were walking in a wilderness, there was A JOY THAT GOD had promised that they would have. Uh, ultimately, if you can get through this wilderness, there is a joy on the other side of all of this.
It was to be implemented only when God gave them the provision and gave them the vineyards, not in the wilderness. Are you hearing me today? the the between land from coming out of Egypt and getting to Canaan can seem like a joyless place. The drink offering belongs naturally to life in the land of promise, not in the wilderness. Hear me today. When you come out of the world, I know all of this can be overwhelming. All the sacrifices that you have to make and it seems like there is no joy in that between space.
It seems like all I hear about or I've got to do this and I've got to do this and I've got to give up this and I've got to live this way and I've got to follow these rules and this restriction. But I'm telling you that there is on the other side of that there is a promised LAND THAT GOD WANTS to bring us to. An 11-day trip became a 2-year journey culminating at Kadesh Barnea when 12 scouts were sent out to spy out the land.
For 40 days, they searched that land out and they surveyed the land of promise. Uh and when they came back, 10 of them had an evil report. They were all saying good things about what's there. And it is so significant to me that Moses took the time to record this observation as a priority when these men returned from spying out the land. in Numbers chapter 13 verse 23. And they came to the brook of Eshkall. And they cut down from then a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bear it between two upon a staff.
God was saying in your face right now, I told you so. I told you I would give you the provision of joy for your sacrifices. Take a look at the size of the grapesh that they are carrying now and just view that I am sure and steadfast in my promises. IT'S NOT ALL WILDERNESS. I'M READY to bring you in TO THE FULLNESS OF JOY IF YOU'LL just enter in. And they would not. They said the giants are too much. The land will kill us. We can't we can't fight the battles that need to be fought there.
But God is telling them immediately, immediately you can have the promises, I'm bringing you out. He was ready at that time to bring them into the land and give them the land and fulfill his promise that you are going to inhabit this land. You're going to possess this land. And I'm trying to bring you out of a wilderness wandering into a place uh where there is joy to be had if you will just accept it. The drink offering was not for the fire because everybody here knows that typically if you pour liquid on a fire it's going to quench the fire.
Typically that's what happens. This drink offering was not for the fire. It was designed to amplify the sacrifice of what the fire had touched. The sacrifice was going to burn by the fire. But when the wine was poured over it, the fire wasn't extinguished and the wine was changed into something it had not been. The sacrifice would be transformed when joy is poured on it. Together, the fire, the sacrifice, and the wine created something intangible. You couldn't see it. You could smell it. It was a smoke that arose, but there was a smell, a sweet smelling savor produced by this oil, this wine that was poured over the sacrifice.
This is why when the Bible says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. It should not be a joyless existence for the child of God. It should not be a drudgery. It should be more than a duty when we come to the presence of God and we pour ourselves out in sacrifice unto him. If I am a living sacrifice, I am a living sacrifice of thanksgiving and I must be accompanied by a poured out offering of joy.
Hallelujah. What I pour out today is not from a vineyard but it is the Bible says the fruit of my lips. The fruit of my lips. This is why the psalmist would write this. I will bless the Lord at all times. His praiseuh will continually be in my mouth. Uh you are, let me just set the record straight here for a minute. Uh you are not required to pour out until God provides and first pours in. He says, "I'm going to give you the land and I'm going to give you the vineyards.
And the reason I'm bringing you out of Egypt into this land is for one reason and one reason only. And that is so that you will worship me. And so I'm going to give you what you need to put on an altar that will glorify and magnify me. You are not required to pour out what God has not first of all poured in. So let me say this this morning. You can sit there on your chair if you want to. If God has not done anything for you, just sit there.
But if God has ever done anything, if he's poured something into your life, uh you have something that needs to be poured out back on the sacrifice of praise. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Woo. Be seated for a minute. If God has blessed, he said, "Start pouring out. If I'm pouring in, you pour out." And when the drink offering wasn't available, it was a cause for mourning and not rejoicing because it meant judgment. The meat offering, Joel said in chapter 1 verse9, he said, "The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord.
The priests and the Lord's ministers mourn." Why? Because that that wine, that drink offering represented the joy of the Lord. This is why often times the judgment of God affected in the manner of a drought. And when the drought came, it cut off symbolically the joy that was in the vineyards that God had given to them. Drought and the vineyards dry up. It means that the blessing of God has lifted and you can't have joy in your life without the blessing of the Lord on your life.
So Elijah, I love it the way the Bible presents him. He comes blasting onto the scene just this way. and Elijah the Tishbite. That's how you're introduced to him. And Elijah the Tishbite. And brother, he comes in like a whirlwind. And the Bible says that he prays, "I want you to shut up the heavens." And God says, "How long?" He says, "Three and a half years. Cut the rain off. Let the let the crops begin to fail. Let the vineyards begin to dry up. Let the herds and the flocks begin to suffer.
And this was a judgment of God. But it was all by design because ultimately Elijah would challenge all of Israel. You know the story on Mount Carmel when he marched up that mountain. I love reading about that story when he talked to Oadiah. He says, "Go tell King Ahab." Obadiah says, "I'm not telling him anything. I know what's going to happen here. I'm going to go tell Oad Ahab this and you're going to disappear on me. I know how this works." And he makes two statements.
He says this twice. He says, "I, Obadiah, have been responsible for a hundred prophets of God. I've hidden them by 50s in caves. And I've fed them, watch this, in drought conditions. I have kept them in water." So when Elijah goes up to Carmel and he makes this challenge to the people of God. First Kings 18:37 says this. Hear me, oh Lord. Hear me that this people may know that thou art the Lord God and that thou hast turned their heart back again. This was not a sacrifice for the sin of Israel.
It was a vow of consecration. Let the God who is God be the God who answers by fire and we will serve that God. Because you couldn't pour a drink offering over a sin offering, but you can pour it over a vow of consecration. This offering, this sacrifice would be a vow of commitment. At this time, think about it. There had been a drought for three and a half years. Rivers, streams, ponds, sistns had dried up. Ahab tells Oadiah, "You go one way and I'll go another.
We've got to find some water somewhere." I got a sneaking suspicion, brother Peter, that Oadiah already knew where the water was because he had been hiding a hundred people and giving them water for the last three and a half years. You with me? Everything had dried up. No water equals no vineyards. You know that grapes are at least 80% water. No vineyards. No rain. No vineyards. No vineyards. No grapes. No grapes. no wine for pouring over sacrifices. Now, Elijah knew the laws of sacrifices. He knew that if we're going to have a vow of commitment and a sacrifice of commitment, you got to have something to pour over it.
In a time of drought, when they're desperately searching for water, Elijah says, "See those four barrels over there? Fill them up. It's not wine. That's okay. The God that I serve, it's not a problem changing water into wine. The first thing that Jesus did when he came on the scene at a wedding called Kaa was he said, "Those water pots over there, just fill them up with water. I'll take care of the rest." Jesus said just a little later, "I only do what I've already seen my father do.
Elijah stands there needing something to pour over this vow of commitment, this sacrifice and the estimates. Listen, in a time of drought, this may not amaze you as much as it amazes me, but it's just amazing to watch a bunch of thirsty people standing around, dried up, shriveled up vineyards, CATTLE DYING in the field. And Elijah, this prophet says, "Fill up those barrels, those four barrels. Fill them up not just once, but three times." He said, "Fill up those barrels." Estimates range from over 30 to 120 gallons of water being poured out, wasted, wasted water in such a short supply.
And Elijah calls for a pouring out ceremony to take place. Elijah knew that there had to be if we're going to get God's attention, I'm going to have to pour something out before he will answer by fire and pour something in. So at the time the Bible says uh at the time of the evening sacrifice uh at the close of the day when the sun is sinking in the west uh listen extreme conditions call for extraordinary measures on the people of God. It is no time for the church to become tame while the world has become wild.
Pentecost began with a church uh that was intoxicated on the wine of the spirit of God because when they poured out, he poured back into them. We have so learned. Oh yeah. My only question is why is he running by himself? He's the only one we have. We have so learned to manage. Oh yeah, I'm going to get there in a minute. We have sold. Somebody mentioned this to me. You ever notice a waiter in a restaurant? They'll stack 10 glasses on a on a tray, pick up that tray, and navigate their way through a restaurant and never spill a drop.
because they've learned to manage full. They have determined for themselves what is full. We determine what is full. We have defined it. We have determined it. We've put the lid on it and said that's enough. And we have learned how to manage our fullness. Our fullness, my friend, is not the same as God's definition of fullness. We stop when the music stops sometimes. We stop when the singer stops sometimes. Uh we stop when the preaching stops. Uh but the Bible measure of fullness is this. uh pressed down, shaken together, running over.
He said, "It's going to be in you a well of living water that's springing up." Uh he said, "OUT OF YOUR BELLIES SHALL FLOW rivers of living water." We manage so carefully and manage not to spill a drop because we have determined for ourselves what fullness is. When God says, "If you'll just pour it out, I'll show you that my capacity to pour in is greater than your capacity to pour out." Because if you'll just keep pouring, he'll just keep blessing. If you'll just keep giving out, he'll still He'll keep giving in.
I'm waiting for you. We have so defined and we have so limited what fullness is. Some of you have been healed of cancer. I never have. That's not my well. That's not my spring. You can go back to that well. Listen. Somewhere there is something that Elijah knew existed that is not affected by the drought. It's not affected by the climactic conditions. It is not affected when there is no rain. There are there are these things called wells that are not dependent upon what the rain falling.
There are rivers literally rivers that flow underground. Rivers of water that flow unseen that they knew about. and Elijah and Obadiah. I believe they knew exactly what well to go to to find the water that they would need to pour out. I begin to think about this. Uh some of us have have had miraculous uh healings for our bodies. Uh that's great. That's a well that you can go to. You ought to pull something out of there and pour it out before the Lord today. If God has healed you, if God has touched you, YOU NEED TO THANK GOD AND VISIT THAT well and begin to pour out the joy.
For the Lord has done that for you. Stay with me. Some of you have been homeless and hopeless. And it's a well that you can go to and revisit and you can get joy that God has brought you out of that condition. Some of you have been addicted and alcoholic and God has reached into your lives and that's a well of deliverance that he brought you out and you can go to that and that stream and you can rejoice over that. Uh some of you he has put marriages back together.
Some of you he has solved problems in your mind. Uh he has solved uh issues of life uh financial issues and you can rejoice over those things but maybe you have none of that. I'm telling you there is still a well from which we have all drunk. A well that we can all go back to. Go back past the time when God ever healed you. Go back to past the time uh when God ever provided for you financially. Go back past the time when God ever healed your mind or brought you out of addiction.
And let's all go back and revisit a well called salvation. And we drop down. And we begin to pull water with joy. With joy. I am going to draw out of a well called salvation. If everything else dries up, I can go back to this well called salvation and remember what God has brought me out of. It's a common well to all of us who have experienced his spirit coming to live inside of our lives. And yet it has become such an ordinary thing in our lives.
Brother Willilifford, when everything else goes and nothing else is working right, I still revisit, I go back to a well of grace when I was kneeling at a folding chair in the back of the old church, staring down at the asphalt tiles. And I remember the night uh in June of 1967 when the Lord reached into my life and filled me with the baptism of the Holy Ghost. When it's all I've got, it is enough. Uh it's a well from which I CAN DRAW THE JOY that I will pour out.
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. Hallelujah. such an ordinary thing. But ordinary stuff, just like water, can be transformed by the power of God when it's poured out as an offering unto the Lord. There is somebody who can take our smallest effort and he transforms it into something that is magnificent and something that is a pleasing aroma in the nostrils of God. Hallelujah. I'm telling you, it may not seem like much to somebody, but when I look at this congregation knowing what God has done for some of us, and you get those hands in the air, I believe it gives hell a nervous breakdown.
When that child of God, just a simple act, you say, it's just a small thing. But when I put my hands up in surrender, I am opening myself. I'm giving off the joy. I'm pouring out the joy. But the Lord begins to pour. It's just a clapping of hands, brother Carton. No, it is not. I beg to differ with you. There is something about this simple act, a small hallelujah that escapes from my lips. There is something about that that is transformative when God when the fire of God gets a hold of it.
Hallelujah. When it seems you're in drought conditions and the streams have dried, the vineyards produce no wine. When friends are scarce and the finances are gone and the family fails, and when it seems like grief encompasses your life, remember that you still have a well. you still have a source uh from which you can draw something that you can pour out. Uh if I can't rejoice about anything else, uh I can rejoice in the God of my salvation. For some drawing is a job, but for the redeemed it is a joy.
I'm gonna wait for somebody to catch up. Brother Hamby, I ask God, you know, we we open this area up here for people to come, but I have asked for God to start moving from the that where you sit there to where Sister Stoel sits on this side from front to back under the overhang in the overflow rooms. You are not safe anywhere in this place from the power of God today. God says if we will, he will. If we will pour out, he will pour in.
I want a sweeping move of the spirit of God that begins back there. You don't have to come to the front of this church. God needs to move right there where you stand or where you sit. God wants to do something from corner to corner and from front to back. Yeah. IT'S NOT A JOB. IT'S A JOY. It's not a duty. It's a desire that we have. And when that begins to be poured out, then God has ability to move in our midst. Some draw with duty and some draw with desire.
Jo. Let's stand together. Joy. Joy. Therefore, with joy shall you draw water from the wells of salvation. You want your joy to be full, visit the well of salvation. I know it's old it's old hat. I know it's it's it's an old experience. I know it's an old well and we we take it so for granted and it becomes so ordinary. But brother, when this salvation experience gets a hold of you, there's a song that says, "I I've got to praise. I've got to praise and I got to get it out.
I got to praise. I I've got to praise. I've got to praise and I've got to get it out. I've got to praise. Come on. I I've got to praise. I've got to praise and I got to get it out. I've got to praise. Some of us are catching the drift. Some of us need to catch this joy. If you all have come with a thanksgiving for salvation, you don't need anything else. You don't need me to do anything else. You just got to reach down into that well and begin to pull out with joy what God has done for you.
When I think of the goodness of Jesus, when I think, oh, don't wait for a singer and don't wait for the music. No, there ought to be an anthem of praise that springs up uh from our innermost being that resonates from deep within our spirit. Uh there ought to be something that flows out of our bellies. The joy of the Lord that is our strength. Come on. It's building. It's building. It ought to happen back there in the overflow. It ought to happen between the seats in this in this sanctuary.
Oh, just remember when you first received that salvation and what it was like to drink from that well. Draw from that experience and begin to pour it out all over again. Yeah. God is waiting on us. We're not waiting on him. Yeah. Don't wait for somebody to cheerlead. Don't wait for somebody to to drag you kicking and screaming. If you've got it, pour it out. If God has provided, pour it out. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Yeah, it's starting. It's building. There should be a crescendo of praise, an outpouring of the joy of the Lord.
Yeah, it's catching. It's catching. There's a fire that's kindling. We got time for this. There are too many needs that left that that will leave unmet if we don't do this. We need to pour out Hallelujah. My God. We say this. We say this. Listen to me for a minute. We say this and we say it so glibly. The presence of the Lord is here. We say it. We don't believe it. We say, brother Peter, we say Jesus is in the house. We say it, but we don't believe it.
Cuz if we believed it, we would have the kind of response that they had when he came walking and and and writing in on that Sunday before the Passover. Jesus, if you're in this place, walk here. Jesus, if you're in this place, uh, sit here next to me. Jesus, if we believe that he was here, we would have a very different response than we are having right now. We would begin to crawl to where he was. we would begin to seek him out and cry out with our voice uh Jesus IF YOU ARE NEARBY WILL YOU JUST STOP here where I am.
If we believed that Jesus is in the place our response And yet he is. Woo. I sense the presence of an innumerable company of angels right now that always accompany the presence of the Lord. I sense in this place right now that Jesus Christ is much present as if he were in a bodily form. But he deserves more than just some kind of formality, some kind of a small outpouring. I want to use my voice. Uh I want to use my actions to stop him in his tracks.
Uh because I want Jesus to stop here and I want HIM TO TOUCH MY LIFE. JESUS, how son of David, have mercy on me. Yeah. My God. Oh, he's here. Whether we want to acknowledge it or not, he's here in this place. Matthew chapter 26 records this story. Two days before the Passover, the room was filled with people who had a reason to pour it out. You realize he was at the house of Simon the leper. a leper, an outcast, a man who was abandoned and his family could have nothing to do.
Simon the leper and they're in his house and he sits there. Lazarus is in the house. The dead man walking is in the house. And he's sitting over there chowing down when Jesus is in the room. 12 of his disciples who have watched every miracle brother Thompson that he has ever performed. They have seen him do everything. Walking on water, casting out devils, healing blinded eyes, uh opening deaf ears. They have seen it all. And maybe they saw so much that it just became oh well.
And they're all sitting there chowing down too. And then there's Martha busy with her ministry of serving, fixing the food and preparing everything. Simon sat. Lazarus lounged. The apostles were apathetic. And Martha ministered. But Mary, Mary, the Bible says, Mary, Mary, she had done nothing else but sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to what he had to say. Mary, he didn't raise her from the dead. He didn't heal her leprosy. He didn't open her blinded eyes. She just sat in the presence. She just sat in the presence of Jesus and she caught something that nobody else caught cuz she quietly gives gets up from where she was.
Slips away to find something that she had been saving for such a time as this when she could pour it out. something that was never meant to be contained or consumed for human consumption. She went and found a little vase of ointment and the Bible says she came to Jesus and she poured it out and the house was filled. The house was filled with the aroma of that ointment. She drew the criticism of people who should have understood. And then Jesus explained that. I want you to look at that.
For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body. You know what that means? What you've got, what you bring to a service like this is not for you. It's not to be contained by yourself. When you begin to pour it out, it fills the room and the whole body feels the effects of that anointing. All it takes is one person in a corner of the room somewhere that is willing to say, "I don't care what everybody else is concerned with. I don't care what anybody else is doing right now.
I am willing to appear foolish if I have to. BUT I'VE JUST GOT SOMETHING that I've got to pour out. And when you begin to pour it out, the entire body will be blessed. and anointed by your pouring out. I wonder if we could do that right now together in whatever way you see fit, however you feel. But I think we should lift our voices. I think we should give it a voice. Yeah, we should give it a voice. Pour it out. Pour it out. It'll bless the body.
It'll anoint the body. Hallelujah. Praise you. Praise you and defeated the grave. Come on. Praise cuz you're faithful. Let it roar cuz you're true. Let out a roar. There's nobody. Fill the house with your pour. Praise cuz you rose and defeated the grave. Praise cuz you're faithful. Praise God cuz you're true. Praise God cuz there's nobody gater than you. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Lord of my soul. I won't be fighting inside the Lord. Oh my soul. How praise does you sound? Praise does you reign.
Praise cuz you rose and defeated the grave. I'll praise cuz you're faith. Praise cuz you're true. Praise God cuz there's nobody greater than you. I'll praise cuz you're so praise cuz you reign. Praise cuz you rose and defeated in the grave. I'm praise cuz you're faith. Praise cuz you're true. Praise God cuz there's nobody greater than you. Praise the Lord. Oh my soul. Oh my soul. I won't be quiet. My God is alive. How could I keep it inside the Lord, oh my soul? Praise the Lord.
Oh my soul. Oh my soul. I will be quiet. My God is alive. Oh my soul. Oh my soul. Oh my soul. I won't be quiet. My God is alive. How could I keep it inside? Praise the Lord. Oh my soul. Lord, oh my soul. For the Lord, oh my soul. Some of you, some of us are going to come as they did in Jesus day. Jesus said, "She's done this for my burial." Because some of you guys are going to miss it. You're going to come running to that empty tomb three days later and there's nobody going to be there.
If this were the last chance that we had to pour out, I wonder what it would be like. Because some who have sat through services like this without any response, listen, if you want the Holy Ghost today, you can have the Holy Ghost today. It's not whether you need it or not. You need the Holy Ghost. Without the spirit of Christ, you are none of his. Nevertheless, the the foundation of God stand a sure having this seal. The Lord knows them that are his. You need that seal of the Holy Spirit of God on your life.
Why do we hesitate? Because some are going to come to this house when this body has gone and they're going to want to pour out an anointing then, but it's too late. This church is going. I believe that Jesus is coming. I believe it with all of my heart that the rapture of the church, we are standing on the precipice of that day. And some are going to come rushing this church saying, "I want to pour out now. Too late. The body is gone. There is no more anointing left."
What will we do one more time before we leave this place? I wish that we would lift up a praise unto the Lord. That we would pour out an outpouring of praise. That we like we were standing before that very throne of God right now. And we are beholding the glory and the splendor of the Lord. If you believe that, would you just begin to lift a voice uh lift a heart and lift your hands up and begin to pour out a praise for which he is absolutely worthy.
Come on, church.
Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. You're worthy, God. You're worthy of this praise. Worthy of this moment, God. worthy of the effort, the energy, the time. You worthy of it, God. You worthy of every word of worship, every lifted hand, every every standing individual, every act of worship. God, you worthy, Lord. You are so worthy, God. There is none worthy like you. None holy and good like you, God. Oh, no one worthy to receive glory and honor and praise and strength, God, like you are worthy, Lord.
We praise you, God. We praise you, God. That's all right. He's worthy of that right now. Well, this is what we were created to do. I I know some of us are wondering when we get to move on, but this is what we're here to do. If you want to praise him today, you praise him today. If you want to encounter God today, you encounter God today. We praise you, God. We lift you up. We glorify you. We worship you. Oh, you will be praised here.
You will be glorified here. You will be lifted up here today, God. Yes. We praise you, God. We praise you, God. Yes, God. You're worthy. You're worthy. You're worthy. Come on. There he is. God's breaking in through this praise. You've been reaching through for him. You found him through your worship right now. You go ahead and you reach for him some more. You go ahead and you praise him some more. He's in the room. He's worthy of it. He's working through it. Come on, find your peace today through praise.
Find your strength today through worship. He's here to give it. As you pour out, he's going to pour in. We thank you today, God. We praise you today, God. You're worthy, God. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. You're worthy. You're worthy. You're worthy. You're worthy. You're worthy, God. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. You worship him. You worship him. Yeah. He's breaking in. He's breaking into some situations that he hasn't been in a while. He's breaking into some difficulty and some struggle and he's pouring in strength.
As you have brought your offering of praise, he is bringing strength. Thank you, God. Thank you, God. Thank you, God. Yes, you're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. You're worthy, Lord. Yeah.
