Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The Text: Present Suffering Weighed Against Coming Glory
- He opens with Romans 8:18: the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.
- He urges the church to hide God's word in their hearts, citing Psalms 119:11, and to meditate on it, memorize it, and live by it.
- He declares that greater things are yet to come for this church — the room and the building will not be big enough for what is coming.
Scriptures: Romans 8; Romans 8:18; Psalms 119:11
The Biodome: Pain Is the Unwanted Gift
- He tells of a 1991 experiment to create the perfect living environment — perfect sunlight, air, and soil — where the trees grew tall and fast, then began to fall.
- The scientists had forgotten one factor: wind. Without it, the trees could not stand; the missing ingredient was pain.
- Parents would take every pain away from their children if they could, but pain is a gift everyone needs: muscles must tear and heal before they can grow stronger — no pain, no gain.
- Pain is the one thing that unites everyone in the room, whatever their background; people try to dull it, numb it, and escape it, but pain means we are alive and God still has something greater for us.
When Pain Comes, Move Toward God — Not Away
- Paul probably walked with a limp from the stonings, beatings, and the thorn in his side, yet he understood that pain would find purpose and reveal something in us, good or bad.
- The enemy's trick is to make a hurting person stop moving — like the Dead Sea, only taking in and never giving out — which is why people leave church when church hurt happens.
- His challenge: when hurt comes, get closer to God — closer to the cross, the word, prayer, fasting, and worship.
- He quotes Psalms 30: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning; you may be one step away from your calling.
Scriptures: Psalms 30
Paul's Pain Gave Him Purpose: The Damascus Road
- He reads Acts 9: Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples, is stopped on the road to Damascus by a light from heaven and a voice: "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" — "I am Jesus."
- From that answer he preaches the name: Acts 4:12 — there is salvation in no other name, which is why this church baptizes in Jesus name.
- He argues the oneness of God from the text: Isaiah 44, where the Lord declares He stretched out the heavens alone and spread abroad the earth by myself, with no one else beside him; the prophecy "unto us a child is born... his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor"; and Deuteronomy 6 — "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one."
- Saul was blind for three days and had to be led by the hand, yet in his blindness he saw more clearly than he ever had: that pain propelled him to his purpose.
Scriptures: Acts 9:1; Acts 4:12; Isaiah 44; Isaiah 96; Deuteronomy 6
Pain Brought Paul to Salvation — Count It All Joy
- He reads Acts 9:17: Ananas lays hands on Saul so that he may receive his sight and be filled with the Holy Ghost; immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, he received his sight, arose, and was baptized.
- He tells the young people not to run from pain or hide from it: the trials of this world prepare us for greater, and the elders would not trade their scars, heartaches, or trials, because those things made and shaped them.
- He cites James 1:2: count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing the testing of your faith produces patience, and let patience have its perfect work so you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
Scriptures: Acts 9:17; James 1:2
Pain Produced Strength: The Thorn and the Preacher's Own Testimony
- Paul's third lesson is the thorn in the flesh: he pleaded with the Lord three times for it to depart — the same prayer, "Lord, take this pain away," that everyone in the room has prayed.
- Thayer tells his own story: working from home, he felt a pain like a knife turning in his chest; at the hospital the doctor told him his heart was failing, every beat could be his last, his liver and kidneys were failing, and a helicopter was being prepared to take him to Detroit for a heart transplant.
- Brother Ethan Hagen came to his hospital room and prayed for him, and he felt virtue enter his body as the Lord began to heal him; he did not die and did not need the transplant — he calls himself a walking, talking, breathing miracle.
- He piles up the witnesses: Romans 5:3 — tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance character, and character hope; 1 Peter 4:12 — do not think the fiery trial strange, but rejoice; Hebrews 12 — chastening seems painful for the present but afterward yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness; Psalms 34:18 — the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart; Philippians 3 — that I may know him, and the fellowship of his suffering.
Scriptures: Romans 5:3; 1 Peter 4:12; Hebrews 12; Psalms 34:18; Philippians 3
The Altar Call: Let Pain Soften You — Don't Lose the Faith
- Pain will do one of two things: harden us and push us away from God and church, or soften us and propel us to greater things — the choice is ours.
- The giant sequoia trees, the largest in the world, hold a secret: their seeds are released only when superheated by fire; greater is yet to come, but it comes through fiery trials.
- He recalls Paul's words — "when I am weak, then I am strong" — and opens the altars: God is not confused or scared by our questions, so bring the hurt, pain, and uncertainty to the cross and let Him answer.
- He closes with a story from that hospital stay: a man in the ER asked to use his phone to call for a ride, and the man's mother called back with a word from the Lord — "don't lose the faith" — the same word he now delivers to the church: don't throw in the towel, don't wave the white flag, because God is still real and still heals.

I'm feeling my lower back. Told my wife, when did that happen? I just I'm like, man, I'm just There was one camp we preached last year and I I was like crawling back home. I was like, I'm tired. And man, an hour is just getting started. I remember a day when if you're not preaching an hour, you're not preaching a weekend. Never mind. And all the visitors are in the room's like, "Who's this guy? Who invited him?" Promise you if you're a visitor, come back next week. There's going to be a better preacher. Um there's just let you know there. And then uh Pastor and Sister Dong, thank you. You guys cooked a wonderful meal yesterday and I could have ate that whole dessert. I am.
That's probably why I'm sluggish today. So I'm praying for your husband, Mariah. So let's get in the word of the Lord. If we can go to Romans chapter 8 and 18. If you're going to cheat and look at the screen, shout amen. All right, we'll preach about cheaters today. I'm just kidding. If you got your Bible, shout amen. Come on. Who loves the word of the Lord? That wasn't a trick question. Who loves the word of the Lord? I love it. Psalms 119:11. Your word I have hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you.
I want to hide this word of of God in my heart every day. I want to meditate on it day and night. I want to recite it. I want to memorize it. I want to live by it. Let's go. Let's let's read this. For I consider that the suffering of this present time. Oh man, what is Kyle preaching about today? Suffering. Who likes suffering? I don't think anybody. Right. Talk to me after. I like I like to know your secrets. But this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory.
There's greater things yet to come, church. Let me just take a moment right here. There's greater things coming to APC than we have ever seen before. This room is not big enough. This building is not big enough. Greater things are yet to come for APC. The glory. Oh, come on. So, the glory which shall be revealed in us. Let's pray real quick. Lord, I believe I have a word for this great and mighty church. Use me in a mighty way, God. Not my will, not my thoughts, not my ideas, but your thoughts and your ideas and your will.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done in APC as it is in heaven. In your mighty name, Jesus. We all say, "Amen." If they can throw up my first slide of the biodome. Who was born? Who wasn't born yet in the 1990s? Raise your hand. Just raise them high. I'm not trying to make anybody feel old in here, but raise them high. Young people, I know you. Come on. Still still blows me away. I elders look around. That's crazy. We're getting old, Aaron. We're getting old, I'm telling you.
Anyways, in the 1991 or in 1991, there was this cool science project or u experiment was done. Does anybody remember this? We got a couple. We got a couple scientists had this great idea and it was great. I thought it was cool. I was only not going to tell you my age, none your business. I was a never mind. But scientists had this idea. If you can go to my next slide, they wanted to create the perfect living environment for plants, animals, humans. It had the perfect sunlight.
It had the perfect air, right? Not like St. Louis air. Right. When I moved here and I drove by the airport, I said, "Wow, what am I smell smelling?" I still don't know what that smell is. No, I know what it is, Nate. It's emo's pizza. It's the cheese. They're factory. They're making that plastic cheese. I'm just kidding. I I would like to report to you guys um you guys have a Jets pizza a couple like a block away and we ordered some for the youth staff and it changed their mind and they liked Jets pizza better than emos.
So just talk to them. I'm just kidding. They don't. But if you want good pizza, go to Jets. It's Detroit style. It's great. It'll change your life. Real cheese on it. Anyways, they were trying to make the perfect living environment. Where is my parents in here? have any parents? I know there's a lot of young people in here, so there's there's got to be parents, right? We want to make the perfect living environment for our kids, right? If I can take every pain away for my beautiful daughter, I would.
I hate it when she's sick. I hate it when she's hurting. Um I hate it when she like trips and and and scrapes her knee. I I I What parent likes that? You're a bad parent. So I'm just kidding. But right, we it's we're natural. We want to create the perfect living environment, right? Something happened though in that biodome. Trees were growing faster than ever before. Caleb, it was working. The experiment was working flawlessly. Trees were growing taller and faster. Play. I mean, look it. It's beautiful.
I would be there right now. Soon Michigan is going to be like subzero. I would love to be there in the middle of the winter. But something happened, Caleb. The trees started to fall. And you know, all the smart people, they're going through the formulas, their calculators, and their and they're like, "What happened? I don't understand. We had everything perfect. We had the right formula. We had the right sunlight. We had the right soil. They had miracle grow, right? I don't think so. They probably had Miracle Grow on steroids.
Everything was perfect, but something wasn't adding up. See, they forgot one factor out of the formula. They forgot the factor of wind. They had the greatest sun. They had the right soil, the right nutrients, but they forgot that wind. May I say they forgot to add the factor of pain in the trees lives in the plants and the experiment didn't work because I hated to break it to you. There's a gift in this world that we all need and it's an unwanted gift but we all need it and we all have it and that unwanted gift today is pain.
We all We know the saying. No pain. No. Brother Pete knows it. I know he's trying to work out. You'll never catch up to me, bro. I'm just gonna tell you that. I can tell you stories now. You can look it. I look like somebody can steal my lunch money. There was a time that I would work out for three hours a day and and people that love to work out would say, "No pain, no." They understood if I'm going to get stronger, I got to go through some struggle.
I got to go through some hurt. I got to work out those muscles. It's it's wild how God creates our bodies to understand before your muscles can grow, they actually have to tear and they have to heal and they grow stronger. Today I want to preach a message called the unwanted gift. It's the one thing that unites us all in this room is pain. We all come from different backgrounds, different homes, different countries, different states. Some better than others, some with better pizza than others. But the one thing that unites us is pain.
We've all been there. We've all experienced it. I hate the days that you wake up in the middle of night and you stub your toe. Why did God make us with toes? I think I broke my pinky toes like 30 times. They don't even look straight anymore. Turn. Never mind. Maybe your pain was an illness, a lost loved one. Maybe your pain was others hurting you. Maybe your pain is a reoccurring cycle of failure. But whatever your pain is, we have all have experienced pain in this room.
Some people worse than others. But may I say this, it is an unwanted gift. Because today, because we're experiencing pain tells me one thing. We are alive and we are breathing and God still has something greater for us. Amen. But pain today is producing something greater in us in the future. Pain's not fun. As human beings, we we try to make the perfect living environment. We we create medicine that ds the pain. We we we take medicine to dull the pain. Maybe we'll take drugs to daw the pain.
We we experience we we try to numb the feeling of this world and we try to escape it. But may I say, without pain there is no gain. Turn with me once again to Romans 8:18. For I consider the sufferings of this present time not worthy to be compared to the glory which shall be revealed in us. That pain is going to reveal something in us, good or bad. Paul understood this. Through his pain, he would find purpose. He realized that pain in this world was nothing compared of the goodness of heaven.
Who's excited to make it to heaven one day? I am. I'm excited to no more tears, no more sorrow, no more pain. I'M EXCITED TO GRAB MY FATHER'S hand that just recently went to heaven and worship with him because there is no more cancer in heaven. There is no more heartache in heaven. There is no more death in heaven BECAUSE GLORY GREATER IS YET to come. I'm so excited. So the present sufferings of this time is not compared to the glory to the glory to the glory that's coming.
I can't wait to make it to heaven. I don't know about you guys. I'm gonna be the first one there. I'm gonna run past you guys. I'm gonna run past Peter and John. I will show who's Never mind. They're up there already. Anyways, his life is full of pain. We know Paul. Who's ever Who knows Paul in this room? We I sometimes think, Zach, when I see Paul, we think of this giant of an evangelist, the greatest evangelist in the Bible, right? But he probably walked with a limp from all the stonings, the thorn in his side, the beatings, the half death.
I He's probably just But Paul understood pain. And let me tell you, I'm going to walk you through a couple of things. Paul's pain propelled him to purpose. If we allow it, your pain can propel you into purpose. It's the trick of the enemy to make you believe when you experience pain, that's when you need to stop. That's the greatest trick of the enemy because he knows if he can get you locked up, immovable, not moving. You don't want to experience pain anymore. Stop moving. I preached a message.
It's your move Friday. If the devil can It's like the Dead Sea if you're if you're just intaking and you're not moving out. You're not giving out. You're going to die. And the devil knows that. The enemy knows if he can trick you. That's why when church hurt happens, they people just leave church. But let me challenge you. When hurt comes in your life, that's when you need to get closer to God. When you experience pain in your life, that's when you need to get closer to God.
Get closer to the cross. Get closer to the word of God. Get closer to prayer. Get closer to prayer and fasting and worshiping. When you experience hurt, that's when you need to get closer to the things of God. Shout amen if you're with me. Amen. The word of God says in Psalms 30 and5, "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy, but joy, but joy comes in the morning." You might be just one step away of your calling. And you don't want to go through that pain.
And and God's saying, "Just keep going. Just keep dealing with it. I promise you. I promise you. You're operating. You're you're moving. You're moving." All right. All right. Let me let me get to my point here. My first point. I promise you I won't preach long. First we see Paul's pain gave Paul purpose. Turn with me to Acts 9 1-9. And this happens on the road to Damascus. Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked letters from him to to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found anyone were of the way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
And he journeyed. And he journeyed. He came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell down to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" In verse 5, "And he said, who are you, Lord?" You know, I love this scripture because everything that is in the Bible points to Jesus. He says, "Who are Let me continue. Then the Lord said, "I am Jesus." I'm so glad I know my God's name. Anybody else glad they know the name of the Lord.
Acts 4:12. Nor is there salvation in any other. That name is Jesus. That's why we baptize in Jesus name. That's why this church baptizes in Jesus name. There's no other name. Go with me, Solomon. I know this is not on my notes, but Isaiah 44 and 24, it says, "I am the Lord." Right? that that scripture, who are you, Lord? Saul knew. Saul knew. He said Isaiah 44 and 24. He knew that he was Jesus. Isaiah 44 and 24. Shout amen if you're with me. It says, "Thus says the Lord."
It says, "I am the Lord. By me there is no one." It says, "I've stretched out the heavens alone. I spread abroad the earth by myself. There's no one else in heaven. There's no three up there. There's no half who stretches out the heavens all alone who spreads abroad the earth by my side. That's Jesus. That's the Lord. He is almighty. It the old the old song used to say this. It's all in him. It's all in him. The fullness of the godhead. Yes, it's all in him.
I'm going to tell you, it's all in him. Turn with me to Isaiah 96. It says, "For unto us a child is born. Unto us a son is given and the government will be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor. My God, my God." I love the word of God. So in Acts and it says, "Who are you, Lord?" He and he says, "I am Jesus." GOD WAS SPEAKING TO SAUL RIGHT THERE, showing him who Jesus was. We serve a one God.
WE SERVE A ONE GOD AND HIS NAME IS JESUS. DEUTERONOMY 6 AND4 HERE, O ISRAEL, THE LORD OUR GOD, the Lord is one. I love how the word of God works, brother Pete. I'm sorry, but I love it. You need to hide this word of God in your heart. Let me keep going. So he trembled and was astonished. I'm at verse six. And said, Lord, what do you want me to do? Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do."
In verse 7, "And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but not seeing no one." Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were open, he saw no one. He was blinded, young people. They led him by hand and brought him into Damascus, and he was there three days without sight. Imagine with me if you could see today and then boom, you were blind. That would be scary. That would be painful. I imagine Paul was nervous when he had to be led by a man.
You know what I will say though? In Paul's blindness, he saw the most clear that he ever had seen before. In that moment of blindness and that pain, Paul seen more clearly of his purpose and his salvation. And that pain propelled him to his purpose. Amen. I'm so thankful for that pain that Paul had. Secondly, pain brought Paul to salvation. Acts 9:17-19. And Ananas went his way and entered the house and laying on hands on him. He was laying on hands on Paul and Saul and said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road has came to me and he has sent me that you may receive your sight.
Catch this. Catch us and be filled with the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost." Pain propelled Paul to salvation. I understand we don't like pain. But I imagine if I could bring Paul up on the stage, he said, "Don't curse that storm that you're in. Don't curse that situation that you're in because greater are the sufferings of this world, but greater is the glory that's about to come. Greater is about to be revealed in you because of that pain." Oh man. And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales and he received his sight once again and he arose and what was baptized.
Pain propelled Saul to salvation. I know I wish I wish I could take all the pain from youth today. I wish I could tell you you won't experience hurt or or heartache or or or you might be sick. I I wish I couldn't tell you that. May I preach right now? Don't run from it. Don't hide from it. Because it's the trials of this world that prepares us for greater. If I could get somebody with white hair to come up here, an elder, and I if I could ask them, would you trade the heartache you've been through?
They would say, no. No. Would you trade the scars that you have? They would say no. Would you trade the trials and tribulations that you went through? But something tells me they wouldn't because they'd say this is what made me. This is what shaped me. This is what calloused me and prepared me to go FARTHER THAN I COULD EVER imagine and prepare me for even greater. I'm so thankful for the elders in this room. So don't hide from pain. Don't raise the the flag and say, "I give up.
I can't do it anymore." Don't don't because in James 1 2-4 where it says my brethren count it all joy when you fall into various trials. That's hard. But listen what it says next. Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. Pastor James understood something. I know this is not a fun message, but I'm going somewhere. I know this is not a message that you're going to be shouting and screaming and dancing, but I know it's a message that will prepare you for purpose, that will prepare you for salvation, and it will prepare you for the future, young people.
But lastly, my last point, pain produced strength in Paul. 2 uh Corinthians 12:7-10, the thorn in his flesh. Unless I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations. A thorn in the flesh was given me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. Have you ever prayed that prayer? Lord, take this pain away from me. Lord, take that storm AWAY FROM ME. LORD, WHY DO I have to GO THROUGH THIS?
WHY DO I HAVE TO DEAL? You do me a favor. Throw up that picture of uh that young man in the hospital bed real quick. There's a prayer that I prayed one time before I get this the time wrong about over seven years ago. I found myself in a hospital bed experiencing the worst pain I ever felt in my life. I was working from home one day, brother Pete and I felt this pain in my chest and just like any other young man would say, "Ah, it's nothing.
No big deal." And then we do all the church members do this. They call that one nurse in the church say, "Hey, I'm dealing with this. What do what do you think this is?" That nurse was my uh pastor's wife, and she said, "You know, Kyle, just to be safe, you should go to the hospital." I said, "Okay, I'll drive myself." And she's like, "Don't do it." No, no, no, no, no. Don't drive yourself. I was like, "Man, I It's just just gas or whatever. Like, I shouldn't have ate that pizza last night, that Jets pizza."
So, I called my brother. He worked a couple minutes from my house and he came and picked me up. Before my brother can get there, it felt like a knife was stabbed in my chest and it was turning. And I remember walking to the edge of my driveway saying, "Travis, I don't know what's happening. I don't know what's going on, but we got to go." And next thing I know, I was in the hospital and test and and IVs in me and my wife would say I would in in between screaming, my wife was eight months pregnant.
I remember I would I would be like, she would tell me I was screaming and then I would say, "Hey, it's going to be okay. It's going to be okay." Because I don't want to miss my daughter's birth. And next thing I know, the doctor comes in after they get the pain handled and and I I could think and and he said, "Kyle, your heart's failing. Kyle, every beat could be your last beat." It was this picture just minutes ago that he told me that as he also told me, "Kyle, we're preparing the helicopter to take you to Detroit for Henry Ford for a heart transplant.
My liver was was failing. My kidneys were failing. Church, can I just be real with you? I was praying to pray like Paul prayed. Why? Why did you I've been fasting. I've been seeking after him. I've lived this whole thing my whole life. Why? know the gift, the present sufferings of this time will not be compared. There was a great man that I think this church knows, Brother Ethan Hagen, my big brother, walked in the hospital room a couple hours after and begin to pray for me and I felt virtue enter my body and the Lord started to heal me.
And to this day, I'm here preaching to this great church and I did not die that day. I didn't need a heart transplant day because I know a God that still saves. I know a God that still heals. I know a God that will allow some pain in your life just to teach you and preach to this CHURCH THAT MIRACLES, SIGNS AND wonders are still real. And they're STILL HAPPENING BECAUSE I'M A WALKING, TALKING, breathing miracle. He still heals. He still saves. I am so thankful FOR GOD.
I'M SO THANKFUL FOR GOD THAT HEALS. I'M SO THANKFUL FOR THE GOD THAT WILL HEAL ME TO BE HERE in this room TO PREACH ABOUT THE POWER of Jesus. I'm almost done. You may be seated. Pain produces purpose. So may may I read it one more time in Romans 8:18? For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared. Oh God, I know that's a hard prayer. I know that's a hard statement. But let me remind you, the sufferings of this present world will not be compared to the glory that this church is about to experience.
Turn with me to Romans 5 3-5. And not only that, that we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance character and character hope. Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. 1 Peter 4:12-13. Beloved, do not think it strange concerning this fiery trial. I know this life is hard. I know what we're going through is tough, which is to try you as though some strange thing happened to you.
But rejoice. But rejoice. I know that's hard, church. I know that's difficult. Did I want to rejoice in that hospital bed? No. There was times in the middle of the night that I was I was fighting for my life. I was breathing treatments and and and throwing up. And my dad was right there beside me handing me things just to make it through the night. But I knew the only thing I knew to do is say, "Jesus, Jesus, I trust you. Jesus, you're real. Jesus." But rejoice to the extent that you partake in Christ's suffering.
Oh, that when his glory is revealed, you also may be glad with exceedingly joy. Hebrews 12 and 111. Now the chastising seems to be joyful for a present but painful nevertheless afterward. It yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness. There's purpose in our pain church. There's purpose in our circumstances. There's purpose in the trials and tribulations. Psalm 34:18. The Lord is near to those who are a broken heart. Philippians 3 and10. that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering.
If God wanted you to have no pain in your life, he would have created you like that. But there is something he's revealing in you. If the musicians can make their way up, there's purpose in our pain. Pain has this innate ability, church, to do two things to us today. It can harden us. It can push us away from God. It can push us away from the church. Or it can soften you and it could prepare you and it could propel you to greater things yet to come.
So it's your choice. Will you let pain today harden you or will you let pain soften you? Can you put up that picture of the trees? These are giant seoia trees. The largest trees in the world. Living giants. Some would call them. Beautiful. If you ever sat at the bottom of them and look up, you're just you're amazed. They can live over 3,000 years. They can be 10 stories tall. But these trees hold a secret. If you can show the seed of these trees, the only way these trees can reproduce is by fire.
This this seed has to be superheated to a certain temperature. You show that other picture of the seed and at that point the seed the pine cone releases it seed at a temperature. I know the seoas hold a secret for us in this room today. Greater is yet to come. But we're going to go through some fiery trials and we're go through some pain and we're go through some hurt. But let me just remind you, weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming in the morning. Oh, joy is coming in the morning. I am reminded, this is the last thing I'll say. Please stand. I love the writings of Paul. I love his epistles. I love what he says and what he writes because I imagine when he's writing through pain, church. He's writing through uncertainty. He's writing through being stoned half to death, running for his life, just trying to do the will of God. And some of us in this room feel that way.
God, I'm just trying to do your will. Why am I experiencing pain in this trial and hurt? But Paul writes these words. He says, "When I am weak, and that's when I'm strong." Paul understood through his pain. Janessa, he understand when I am less, that's when God is greater. When I am weak, that's when God can really use me. When I'm going through trials, that's okay because I know God is walking hand by hand with me. I I know when I'm going through the fiery trial that God is with me and he's preparing with me and and working through me.
Who trusts God today? Do do you trust him enough to say, "Lord, whatever you send, I'll believe you. Whatever I go through, I'll trust you. It might be a thorn in my side. It might happen to live with a defibrillator in your chest because your heart could stop every moment. BUT I BELIEVE GOD is still working in the pain and the situations. God is propelling us into something greater. With every head bowed, Lord, I've tried my best today to preach by personal personal testimony, but the healer is here.
Jesus, you have walked in this room and you can provide some miracles in this room right now. I know it to be true because you told me that and you showed me that and you have you sent this walking, talking, breathing miracle to preach to this great church TO SAY GOD IS STILL REAL AND GOD IS still operating in the storm and situations and trials and tribulations working the greater to happen. Now, I'm going to open these altars real quick, but let me read. Put put Romans 8:18 up there one more time for me for I consider the suffering of this present time.
The sufferings. I don't know what sufferings are in your life right now, but I can look eye to eye with everybody in this room and I know there's sufferings. I know there's pain and there's hurt and trials. It could be sickness. It could be somebody hurting you. It could be. But let me remind somebody in APC this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory to the glory to the glory that's about to happen in your life today. You might be crying. You might be weeping in the night.
But joy is coming in your life. Glory is about to be revealed in you. That pain that's producing something in you is propelling you to greater. It's revealing something greater in you. So I open these altars that somebody that's been dealing with some pain. That I open these altars for somebody that's been dealing with some heartache and they don't understand. They don't it doesn't add up. I know this might be raw and you might have to take that step of faith. But you might say, "God, I don't understand that pain, but I take it to the cross."
right now. Listen, let me remind you, God is not confused with your questions. He is not scared with your questions. He is not worried what your questions are. Bring them to the altar and release that hurt. Release that pain and that uncertainty. You might be going through the storm of your life right now. But at this altar, you can find joy. At this altar, you can find resolution. You can find purpose for that pain. It can direct you. Don't let that pain harden you today. Don't let that pain lock you up in your chair and say, "You know what?
I'm just not going to go closer to God." No. Allow that pain to say, "Hey, God, I'm letting it soften me right now. I'm letting it soften and do a new work in me." That's it, church. I know this is a little deeper, but start to seek for the face of God right now in the uncertainties. Let pain Ask God, what is that pain propelling me in my life? What is that pain producing in my life? What is that pain sending in my life and directing me?
Maybe that pain is propelling you to salvation today. You can have the Holy Ghost right now at this altar. You can be baptized right now. Let that pain direct you closer. That's it. I'm God. I know you're questioning some things in your life. bring the questions to the feet of Jesus and let him answer them. He's right there beside you. Oh, that's special. Saints, elders in this room, begin to pray for these great individuals. Ministers, begin to pray for these great people right now. God, I was always on.
That's it. He's always on time, church. He's always hunts on. He's operating in this room right now. He's operating in situations right now. You might not know what to pray. Just throw up your hands and say, "God, I'm all I have is this moment right now." And just turn it over to God. Turn it over to him right now. And that's it. I feel some healing washing in this room. All the love will shut down. You were right there beside me. You were always on time.
You were always always on time. You are always always on time. Church, begin to pray. Seek after his face right now. Seek after his face. That's beautiful. I feel the spirit of God walking in this room. Has never been a moment. Yes, God. That's him. moment that you weren't in it. There's never been a time that you didn't see me through God's I worship you. There's never been a day, never been a minute, never been a moment that you weren't in it. There's never been a time that you didn't see me through.
God, I worship you. It's never been a day, never been a minute. It's never been a moment that you weren't in it. There's never been a faith. Let faith arise right now. This room never been a day. Never been a minute. Hallelujah. You never see me through God. I worship you real quick. I feel God starting to move. I feel God starting to break out. But there's one more thing I want to tell you. There's one more thing I want to tell this great church. Just keep on praying.
That's okay. I found myself in a hospital room one time wanting to give up, wanting to throw in the towel. I believed this thing my whole life. I grew up in church and that was it. My heart messed up. My heart was messing up. I was hurt. And there was this drug addict in the ER room that asked for him to use my phone and I didn't want him to use it, but the Lord told me, "Let him use your phone." I called his mom and I said, "Hey, Paul needs a ride.
He's at Depal Hospital. This is right down the road. He's at Depal Hospital. He he needs help." And I hung up and I said, "Lord, I did it. I'm done." She called me back and I didn't answer at first. I didn't answer church. I'm going to be honest. And I was fighting with the Lord and the Lord said, "Answer that phone." And that lady picked up the phone and she told me, her name was Le Paris. And he and she said, "I don't know who you are.
I don't know what you're going through, but the Lord just wanted me to tell you, don't lose the faith. I don't care whatever storm you're dealing with. Don't lose the faith. For today, I came all the way to Michigan to tell somebody right now, whatever hell that you're going through, any pain that you're dealing with, don't lose the faith. Just like that lady ministered to me on the phone when I wanted to throw in everything and she said, "Don't lose the faith. I'm here to tell you, don't lose the faith.
Don't give up. DON'T THROW IN THE TOWEL. DON'T WAVE THE WHITE FLAG BECAUSE GOD IS REAL and he's here and he can provide miracles, signs, and wonders. That's it. Begin to pray right now. Joy is in the room. Healings in the room. Let them do miracles, signs, and wonders. Let them heal you right now. LET THEM HEAL YOUR MIND.
