Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

When He Came Looking for Me

  • He gives honor to the pastors and thanks the church for praying for him and his family, believing God will heal his wife and bring it out all right.
  • The devil wants to put doubt in our lives, but we walk by faith and not by sight, leaning on the Lord and not on our own understanding.
  • He announces his subject — when he came looking for me — and testifies that he is glad the Lord came looking for him one day, and that we should never lose the testimony of where God brought us out.
  • From Amos he reads of the shepherd who takes two legs or a piece of an ear out of the lion's mouth, and he makes that rescued remnant his focus for the night.
  • His God is in the restoring and building-back business, able to do exceedingly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.

Scriptures: Amos 3:12

Born in a Manger, and He Suffered

  • When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Mary brought forth her firstborn son, wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn — though he could have come as a king, he chose the manger.
  • He will one day be King of kings and Lord of lords, and he knows what it is like to suffer and to go through the things of life.
  • Jesus began to teach that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and rise the third day.
  • He gives thanks that Jesus rose again — we do not serve a dead God but one who is alive forevermore, and who by his grace takes our broken lives.

Scriptures: Luke 2; Mark 8:31

Saved by Grace, to Seek and to Save

  • By grace we are saved through faith — not of ourselves and not of works, lest any man should boast; it is the gift of God.
  • God looked down on our lives when we were bound in sin, took us out of that sin, and set us up on a rock; Jesus died and rose again for our lives.
  • Paul's desire was to know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
  • The Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost — and that was you and I; that was the purpose of his coming into this world.

Scriptures: Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 3:10; Luke 19:10

The Good Shepherd Giveth His Life for the Sheep

  • His next purpose was to build a church: upon this rock he would build it, and the gates of hell would not prevail against it.
  • Jesus said, "I am the good shepherd," and the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep; no man could take his life — he laid it down himself, suffering the scourging and the cross, so that we could be saved.
  • He tells of the man who, having a hundred sheep and losing one, goes out into the wilderness looking for that lost sheep, and rejoices that he has found it.
  • We have all gone astray like sheep, but we can return to him — as the shepherd took what was left out of the mouth of the lion, God can take lives ruined by sin, rebuild them, and restore the joy of our lives.

Scriptures: John 10:11; Luke 15:3-5

All Things Work Together for Good

  • All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose — and it is not the will of God that any be lost, for he came to seek and to save the lost.
  • When the chief Shepherd shall come, we shall receive a crown that fadeth not away.
  • In the book of Revelation there shall be no more tears, no more death, no more sorrow, and no more pain, for the former things are passed away — who would not want to go to heaven?
  • He has already paid the price and shed his blood for our sins, so we do not have to be lost.

Scriptures: Romans 8:28; 1 Peter 5:4; Revelation (book-only, as spoken)

He Was Tempted in All Points, Yet Without Sin

  • Jesus, who had no sin in his life, came to John to be baptized in the river Jordan; John beheld the Lamb of God, baptized him, and the Spirit of God descended on him like a dove, with the declaration, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
  • He was made sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
  • He was then led into the wilderness for forty days and forty nights to be tempted: to make stones into bread — answered, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God"; to cast himself down from the mountain, trusting angels to bear him up; and to receive all the kingdoms of this world if he would fall down and worship — and he refused them all.
  • We are tempted when we are drawn away by our own lust and enticed — Satan already had us when we were out in the world — but Jesus faced the same temptations that we face, yet he had no sin; all things were made by him, and without him was not anything made.
  • He took the stripes of the scourging on his back for our healing, bore the crown of thorns, and prayed in the garden in such agony that he asked for the cup to be removed, yet said, "Not my will, but thine be done"; on the cross he cried out as the Spirit departed from him, and he died for our sins.
  • But on the third day the stone was rolled away: death has no sting over a child of God and will not conquer our lives, and he is coming back one day for a church that has made itself ready.

Scriptures: Matthew 3; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Matthew 4

Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God

  • He was not satisfied with the ninety-nine that were in the safe place; he went looking for that one little lost lamb — and had you been the only one, he would still have died on the cross for your sin, because he loves you and cares for you.
  • The preacher testifies that he did not deserve the love of God or the grace of God, and thought he could never serve God or live for him — but the Lord showed him that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him, and that with Christ living on the inside we can live a life pleasing to him.
  • Our life is nothing if we do not give it all to Jesus; we do not have him if we do not give it all to him.
  • Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added; the name of the Lord is a strong tower, and the righteous run into it and are safe — he is able to keep what we have committed unto him.
  • Let not your heart be troubled: in the Father's house are many mansions, and he goes to prepare a place for us, and will come again and receive us unto himself, that where he is, there we may be also; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

Scriptures: Matthew 6:33; Proverbs 18:10; John 14

A New Creature: Repent, Be Baptized, Be Filled

  • It is by his grace that we are saved and that we make it — not boasting, not who we are, but who he is and what he did in our lives; if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away, and behold, all things are become new.
  • When he was asked about the signs of his coming, he spoke of wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in divers places, pestilences, and famines, and of a time when they say peace and safety — we are living close to that day — yet he tarries in longsuffering, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
  • True repentance is turning away from the old life and saying, "God, I'm out of that business; I don't want to live that lifestyle anymore" — and our sins are washed away only through baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.
  • Then comes the infilling of the Holy Ghost, the greatest thing we will ever receive: when God's Spirit comes to live on the inside of us, he changes us, and we become servants of righteousness instead of yielding ourselves as servants of sin.
  • Submit yourselves unto God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you; and when we have done all we can do, we stand and see the salvation of the Lord.
  • As God told Moses that his people would see the Egyptians no more, when we repent he cleans the slate clean and remembers our sins no more — though some sins go on before to judgment, so keep them under the blood, for only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash sin away.

Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 5:17; James 4:7; Exodus 14

He That Endures to the End Shall Be Saved

  • In his closing he returns to the suffering he began with: Jesus was to be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, killed, and rise again the third day — and when Peter resisted that word, Jesus rebuked him; to follow him we must deny ourselves and take up our cross, though many today say it is too hard, and he will put nothing on us that we cannot bear.
  • Thomas said he would not believe unless he saw; when he put his hand into the Lord's side, he confessed, "My Lord and my God" — and blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
  • He is not seeking a sign, though signs will follow them that believe; he is seeking the Lord to come out of the clouds of glory to receive his children — and he that endures to the end, the same shall be saved.
  • God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
  • In him was life, and the life was the light of men; we are the light of the world, bringing the gospel to the lost — for while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
  • There is nobody in the world better than anybody else; it is only by the grace of God that we are where we are — so do not boast about it, but be thankful for it. He closes by calling the church to lift their hands in worship and thank the Lord for saving, rescuing, and restoring them.

the whole church hey man it's good to be back in the house of the Lord amen I want to say I'll give honor to our pastors our Bishop and all these young ministers in insurance they meant for every one of you God bless you for being here tonight Amen I thank you for your prayers that you're praying for me and my wanting my family my wife I believe that God's going to heal her I believe it's gonna work out all right hey man

the devil wants to put doubt in our lives he wants to put you can pray and you can see God and he wants to put that down there amen but I'm I'm gonna walk by faith the Bible said we walk by faith and not by sight amen so we got to keep trusting in y'all ain't Menten lean on him and not on our own understanding amen I'm gonna turn to the Book of Amos chapter 3 in verse 12 in high Amen I'm going to preach when he came looking for me I'm glad that he came looking for me one day Amen I'm glad that Amen

we give the testimonies of Thanksgiving what God has done amen how that he brought you out a man you should not never lose your testimony where God brought you out of that you don't want to go back to that place Amen the Bible tells us to remember the pit that he brought us out of to not go back to a man I'm going to read and write Amos chapter 3 in verse 12

I said the Lord as the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of a lion two legs or a piece of an ear so sure that the children rears will be taken out the well in Samaria in the corner of the bed in Damascus in the cows Amen

my focus tonight is on these three lines that Amos three and 12 says for the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of a lion two legs and a piece of veneer amen we could preach that message and say there wouldn't be anything left to say but I come to not to preach it that my god is in the restored and building back business a man that he's able to do exceedingly among and above all that we would think I asked according to the power that worketh in US a man you can be seated tonight he's man you can be seated and so that we would find that we we read the scriptures and we read that when we read that

when Jesus was born in Bethlehem we read in Luke chapter two that the Bible says that Mary brought forth her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and in lying in the manger for there was no room for them in the end and so that we find that he coulda came brother keep as a king but he chose to be in that manger in lie in that manger because chose to come amen is the king of King and he will one day he will be the king of kings and Lord of lords one day a man

he knows what it's like to suffer he knows what it looked like to go through life and go through things of life he knows what it's all about bryn mawr chapter 18 verse 31 I didn't give him these scriptures upfront so they won't be up there and so in

mark chapter 8 in 31 Jesus began to teach them the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected of elders and chief priests the scribes and be killed and rise the third day I'm thankful that he rose again that we don't serve a dead Tod that he's alive forevermore I'm thankful to know the night that he's able ain't meant to take our lives that is broken he meant this broken town they meant by his grace today amen by His grace in the book of in the book of fishers chapter number two in verse number eight it says

for by grace are you saved through faith not of yourselves it's the gift of God not of words lest any man should boast Amen that God looked down to our lives when we was bound to sin and he took us out of that scene and he put us up on a rock nice typist are going hey men we should be thankful to know that night then he died and he rose again for our lives amen the Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians chapter 3 in verse number 10 amen he wrote in there and he said he said he said this he said

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection the Fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable into his death ain't meant that he went to the cross of Calvary for you and I ain't meant that one could have hope today but it's only through his grace and His mercy is where we are today and then we should give him thanks every day for His grace and mercy in our life because we could be in seeing out Amen in dead to sin we could be living in sin today and walking in that life amen but I'm thankful another day amen that he come to seeking to save and Luke chapter 19 verse number 10

the Son of man has come to seek and to save that which was lost that was you and I that that was the purpose of him coming to this world a man was to die and to give his life for you and I that woman could be saved the next pert his life was to come was to build a church amen I'm thankful that he come to

build a church and he said upon this rock I'll build my church in the gates of Hell shall not prevail against death in John chapter in John chapter 10 verse number 11 Jesus said I am The Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd giveth his life for the Sheep that no man could take his life he said I'll lay it down he met he laid down his life for you and I he suffered and died upon the cross for our sins that were to be saved he took the cat-o'-nine-tails upon him upon his back upon the

whipping post he cried out on the cross Eli he lies about the line father Weis diaper shaking me and the Spirit of God departed it from him and Jesus died and gave up the ghost but he died for our sins no man could take his life he laid it down he laid it down the will we could be saved he laid it down for our lives

in Luke chapter 15 and verse number three Amen the Lord said what man of you having a hundred sheep not lose one and go out into the wilderness and look for that lost sheep that was lost he meant to go out and rejoice that he had found that sheep it was lost amen

that sheep had gone astray Aysel said that we're all like sheep have gone astray amen but I'm thankful to know Amen that we can return back to him amen and receive what he would have in our life amen is to be saying that's what the purpose is that he come to seek and to save that which was lost and that was you and I

as a shepherd take it out of the mouth of the lion two legs and a piece of a new year Amen there wasn't much left remember God can take our lives that is wrong by saying hey man if he can rebuild our lives back up he can restore the joy of our life and he can put a free spirit up in our lives and to walk in with him and serving him and living for him and being obedient to him in his word amen and so we find that Amen

in Romans 1828 and then the Apostle Paul wrote and he said for I know that all things work together for the good to them that love God in a call according to his purpose that we know that all things work together for those that love God a calling according to his purpose Amen important his purposes as redeemed by his blood ain't meant that is it's not his will that he be lost it is not the will of God Amen cuz he come to seek and to save that which was lost that was his purpose of coming amen to this world to die for you and I heman he shed his blood for you and I in

first Peter chapter number 5 in verse number 4 amen the Bible said the one that when the chief Shepherd shall come you shall receive a crown of life that faded not away Amen when the chief shepherd tongues Amen you gonna receive a crown one day that fadeth not a way Amen you will receive a crown on that day a man who would not want to go to heaven today in the Book of Revelations that said

there would be no more tears no more death no more sorrow no more pain for the former things just passed away who in their right mind would not want to go to heaven tonight Amen because he already paid the pines for us he already shed his blood for our sins ain't many already paid the ultimate price the woman could be saved the nine we don't have to be lost they make us he come to save us and take away our sins we find in the scriptures a man that will find in the book of Matthew chapter number three Amen that we find them when Jesus was a man took was

going to John the Baptist they meant to be baptized in the River Jordan the Bible said that he had no sin a man he had no sin in his life and in the book of first and second Corinthians five in verse 21 it said he had made him to be sin for us who knew no sin that we may be the righteous in him that we can be made righteous of God but behold John said to behold the lamb of God amen and Jesus John took Jesus down in the river Jordan and baptized him and the Bible said

the Spirit of God descended upon him like a former dove and binding upon him and said this is my beloved son and who I'm well pleased but you'll find on them down in the next script chapter in chapter dumb and Matthew chapter 4 you find that

Jesus was tempted in all points as we was tempted he was led into the wilderness for 40 days and 40 nights to beat into the Sagan he said the first thing that you would do is you would you make these thongs to be made bread and Jesus said

man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God that proceedeth out of the mouth of God amen that was the plan of God amen that we was tempted James said that we're all tempted when went wrong for my lust and enticing a man I wasn't tempted when I was out in the world because Satan already had me amen but when Jesus a man faced the same temptation to you and I faced Satan come and said if you'll all off the mountain the Angels would take charge over the a new leaf it'll fall off that mountain had been over with a man and he said

all the kingdoms of this world I'll give unto thee if you fall down and worship Me John said all things were made by him and without him it wasn't anything made amen and so we understand that he went through the temptations just as we went through the temptations but he had no seen his life a man for the prosecutor in that said he became sin for us who knew no sin and so he but took our sin upon the cross of Calvary amen he shed his blood for you and I he took the stripes upon his back for our healing amen the pain and the suffering that he went through the cat-o'-nine-tails that was placed upon his back hey max was for our healing tonight the

crown of thorns that they placed upon his head he was in agony in so much distress when the gospel says when he was in the Garden of Judge Timothy he prayed for the cup to be removed from him he said not never less my will but let time be died so we find that he was in so much agony cause that the flesh did not want to die when he was hanging on the cross when the Spirit of God departed from him as he took Nala died with that spirit living on the inside of him that's why he cried out father father has not forsaken me but on the third day he borrowed the tune amen in the stone was rolled away amen and we have

victorious victory in our life today because death has no sting over a child of God amen death will not conquer our lives because we are the child of the wound King and he's coming back one day amen he's coming back to his church that's presented unto him and go his church without smart or equal I want to be a part of it he's coming back for our lives amen those that have made themself ready he meant that we could stand before him one day Amen even hear him say well done doctor the fate was served because he gave his life for each and every one of us but

he was not satisfied with a hundred he was not satisfied with a ninety-nine that was in the safety place he went looking for that little lost lamb that was you brother Keith that was me that was every one of us in this building today a man if he will have been the only one he would have time for you because he loves you and he cares for you if he will have been the only one ain't man he woulda still died upon the cross he meant for your sin and my sin hey man that he came amen the crowd and me saying that song and say

he came looking for me I am thankful that one day Amen that I was not deserted I didn't deserve the love of God I didn't deserve the grace of God I didn't deserve what he did but he come looking one day for me hey man

I thought that I never could serve God I thought that I never could do the things that live for God amen what the Lord showed me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me amen that without him that I not do it remember him living on the inside a man would keep us to living a life that's pleasing under him that's what we've got to do church we've got a liberal life that's pleasing on the hill and serving him with everything that's in our life ain't meant to give it to him our life a man is nothing if we don't give it all to Jesus amen we don't have him if we don't give it all to him

Matthew chapter 6 and 33 jesus said but see you first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness and all these things other things will be added into our life to seek God in our lives amen and we will be found of him because the name of the Lord the Bible says in the book of

Proverbs chapter 18 in verse number 10 the name of the Lord is a strong tower amen in the righteous run into it in our saying we're safe in the arms of the Living God I have rather put my trust in my confidence in my faith in him today ain't matter who I believe I know that he's able to keep which I have committed unto him and to this day ain't meant no matter what I go through no I don't want I got paid to lie the other side is waiting for us

John 14 said letting our hearts to be troubled believe in God believe also in me for in my father's house are many mansions if it were not true I want on a told you that I go and prepare a place for you and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come receive you into myself that were that I am that you may be also

but to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and so we understand that one day amen that Christ is coming back but it's my grace that was saved it's by His grace that we make it it ain't about posting it ain't about who we are but it's about who he is and what he did in our lives he changed our lives hey man secularist is 5 in 17 set that for

if any man is to be in Christ he is a new creature for all things have passed away and behold all things become new it's because of him today that I know he'll in his power of his resurrection the Fellowship of his sufferings being made conformable unto his death that he died and he shed his blood what would you be saved they meant cuz he come to seek and to save that was was long and so that we were saying that

they asked the Lord one time they asked him I said Lord how would we know the signs of your coming Jesus said they will be seeking a sign and there will be no sign but there would be wars and rumors of wars and earthquakes in divers facing pestilence famines and all these things but he said this time is not yet he said but when they said peace and they say safety he said look God for your Redemption know at nine and set the door Amen

I don't know how much closer I don't know how long this thing is but I know we're living on the brink of destruction today Amen that it cannot be much longer that Jesus terry's but our reason to hold the night that why that he's not coming back right now it's because he's long suffered they're

not willing that any should perish that all that come to repent that's all that God ever wanted us to do is repent of our sins and turn from my wicked ways that is all he ever asked to dust ooh do in our life it's not a hard thing it's to turn away and say God I'm out of that business anymore and I don't want to live that lifestyle anymore that's true repentance so she turned away from me you're not doing that anymore God sees that amen and I want to know today amen that I when I stand before him all day that my sins are told my sins are washed away blood of Jesus Christ and

the only way they're going to be washed away it's through that water is baptism go down in the name of Jesus Christ for there's no other name under heaven given among men that were behind that we must be saved amen repent of our sins and

be baptized in Jesus name and be filled with the wonderful gift of the Holy Ghost that is the greatest thing that you'll ever receive in your life a man is when you receive the infant of the Holy Ghost when God comes and lives on the inside of our parties because he said

my spirit will not dwell in an unclean temple Amen when we get the Spirit of God living on the inside of us ain't many changes our highest amen we don't do what to do the things of the world anymore because he's changed us and he made us what we are and so when we come and we start serving your heart and we start living for him we become

the servants of righteousness we're no longer the servant of sin brother keen where our yielding our members to Christ were the servants of him through righteousness we're not yielding ourselves to the place we're not yielding ourselves to the things of the devil because James for himself says for in seven sets to meet yourselves into God and

resist the devil and he will flee from you amen we are putting the devil under our feet amen when were serving him and we're living for him and we're doing all that we can do the Word of God tells us to stand when we've done all that we can do stand amen then we will see the salvation the Lord that when the book of

in Exodus chapter 14 the Lord God told Moses he said I want you to tell the people of this he said he said you that they will not see amen they want the Egyptians no more they you will see them anymore no more you know why because amen because I put them under your feet I put them away from you you're not going to see them anymore ain't mad cuz God clean the slate out amen that's what he does when we repent of our sins

he cleans the slate clean he takes our sin and washes in a sea of forgiveness and healing never remembers it anymore the only ones that remember you and I he does not remember it but in the book of Timothy he said that some sins are going on to be judged and there's some sisters father after you don't want to pile in a key you want them going home to be challenged a man because he won't him under the blood ain't nothing the only thing that can wash the way of saying it's the blood of Jesus Christ ain't meant that he cleanses us from all sin amen and I want to

seek Him today while he may be found because they're going to seek Him and they won't be found of him they're gonna cry for the rocks to fall upon them and it will not fall upon them they'll be designed to die and cannot die amen I don't want to stand before the Lord one day and you be ashamed hey man when I stand before him amen I won't be like Paul said for

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ faint man I don't want to be ashamed of it I don't want to because if I'm ashamed of him he's gonna be ashamed of me he said if I deny him he's gone under than I mean and so that we find that Jesus and in John chapter 8 he's been March chapter 8

in my closing tonight he was suffering he was going to be rejected of elders and chief priests and scribes and be killed and rise again the third day amen but you'll find that in the same persons of chapter in the scripture that did you Peter the keys to the kingdom but he rebuked Peter because he didn't want Jesus to die Peter told Jesus told him said you have to deny yourself you got to take up your cross and follow me amen

people today does not want to take up their cross and follow him but they say it's too hard amen the Bible said that he will put nothing upon us we cannot bear and so that the scars and the wounds and the bruises but he went through through his life through the pain to the suffering

we're going to see the nail prints in his hand one day a man we're going to see it because Thomas said Amen he said I won't believe it unless I see it and he pushed his hand into his side and the Bible said that blood and water amen he said my Lord and my god amen and Jesus told him said

blessed are they have not seen but yet believe he said we're living in the world today that's all you got to do is believe on the Lord Jesus Christ did you say March said there will be signs that will follow them to believe a man you'll cast out devils you're speaking you toss if you drink any deadly thing you shall not harm thee ain't man there's many other signs of the follow amen through life today ain't meant seeking signs today

I'm not seeking a sign I'm seeking him to come out of the clouds of glory to receive his children amen and we're asked to in strong he's coming back for a church and I want to be in his church I want to live the life that's pleasing unto Him cuz he said in March in Saint Matthew 13:24 13 he said

he that endures to the end the same shall be saying Amen I got into the end we got into it to the end they man he came to see amen to save the whole world and start so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son who said believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life

when you stand with me tonight amen it he come to give his life for you and I all that he ever wants in our life is our life everything that he does not have is our life we give him our life

John chapter in verse 4 said in human's life in life isn't a lot of man hit him is alive and in the tortoises have been this world and Satan but we're the light of the world amen let's shine into the world it's bringing the gospel to the Lost today because that's what he commanded us to do and men are like Romans 5 well he commanded us to us word that while that we was a jetsetter Christ died for us amen there were no better brother holding anybody out in the world Amen that they're just as good as we are but it's only brother Levi by the grace of God where we are today amen
