Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Remove Not the Ancient Landmark: The Call for Consecration

  • He reads his two texts standing: Proverbs 22:28, "Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set," and Romans 12:1-2 — present your bodies a living sacrifice, be not conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
  • He announces his subject — "Are ancient landmarks relevant today?" — with the subtitle "The Call for Consecration."
  • He prays for fresh anointing on his mind, body, soul, and spirit, saying the anointing is what breaks the yoke, makes the difference, and penetrates to the very marrow of the bone.

Scriptures: Proverbs 22:28; Romans 12:1-2

Someone Has Passed This Way Before

  • In the Arctic tundra of North America, where there are no natural landmarks, native people built stone landmarks — many in the shape of a man — for navigation, reference, and food storage, simply to indicate to the passerby that someone had passed this way before.
  • Joshua set up the same kind of monument at the Jordan: when children ask their fathers in time to come, "What mean these stones?" they are to be told that Israel came over this Jordan on dry land (Joshua 4:21-22).
  • The New Testament church has also been handed a great heritage, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20) — and we must never forget where we have come from, or we will never get where God wants us to go.
  • He is not the first preacher to preach Acts 2:38, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, or "come out from among them and be ye separate"; many have come this way before and faced their share of struggles, hardships, and persecutions.
  • We owe it to those who came before us — the elders, pastors, and ministers who stood for truth when it was unpopular — to leave landmarks standing so our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren know this is still the right road, the highway of holiness.
  • Too many apostolics have become rolling stones instead of lively stones, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine; methods may change, but the truth never changes, and God-given landmarks should never be moved or removed.

Scriptures: Joshua 4:21-22; Ephesians 2:20

Used to the Level of Your Consecration

  • God will always use people to the level of their consecration: the more you are willing to consecrate and dedicate yourself to the call of God, the more God will anoint you, bless you, and let you walk in divine favor.
  • Unlike the rich young ruler, who had an opportunity to give God more and went away sorrowful, he made up his mind years ago to consecrate himself to everything God is calling him to do — you cannot be consecrated to two things, and you cannot serve two masters.
  • Consecration is defined as to make or declare sacred, to devote to a purpose with deep dedication; last week's landmark was modesty, and modesty still matters.
  • The man with the mouse problem had no cheese, so he set the trap with a picture of cheese and caught a picture of a mouse: to be successful you have to have the real stuff — you cannot cut corners to consecration, because a half truth is a lie.
  • Many are called but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14): God does the calling, but you do the choosing, and only few are chosen because only few respond to the call and pay the price tag connected to it.
  • The prayer should be "Lord, make me as holy as a forgiven sinner can be" rather than just make me a good singer, preacher, or leader — God cannot always bless a merely good one, but he cannot help but bless a holy one, and the word says, "Be holy, for I am holy."
  • A loss of consecration will always guarantee a loss of power and authority — like a cord plugged into a socket with no power in it, being merely connected is useless without consecration letting the current of the Holy Ghost flow.

Scriptures: Matthew 22:14

Begun in the Spirit, Not Perfected by the Flesh

  • Paul taught the church at Galatia with strong words: "Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?" (Galatians 3:3).
  • You were not filled with the baptism of the Holy Ghost — washed, sanctified, justified, redeemed — in order to go back and fight spiritual battles in the flesh.
  • It was the Spirit that made the difference in your life the first time, and it is still the Spirit that makes the difference in every battle you face; you have to make up your mind to crucify the flesh.
  • He got started in the fire and will not settle in the smoke — he has to have a red-hot, burning zeal and the power of God moving in his life.

Scriptures: Galatians 3:3

Train Yourself for Godliness

  • Paul told Timothy to refuse profane and old wives' fables and to exercise himself rather unto godliness: bodily exercise profits little, but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come (1 Timothy 4:7-8).
  • "Train yourself" is a command: we must discipline ourselves for godliness, keeping our hearts pure, our minds clean, our souls unstained, and our lives holy — our godliness here makes our life here better and gives access to the promises of God.
  • The word discipline comes from the Greek athletic world of the gymnasium: an athlete stripped down and removed anything that would restrict the full movement of his body so he could extend himself in training.
  • He asks a young athlete in the room whether he would be starting if he didn't train — you cannot practice once a week and expect to compete; becoming what you want to become requires months and years of daily discipline under a trainer, coach, and mentor.
  • As saints we must strip off everything that would distract or hinder us, lay aside every weight and sin, shed the baggage and the baby fat, and get into God's gym — working out in the word, pumping iron in prayer, and exercising our muscles in faith and obedience.
  • God anoints holy people — not talented, gifted, rich, or political people as such — and the old landmark called consecration is how we get in shape spiritually.

Scriptures: 1 Timothy 4:7-8

Run That Ye May Obtain

  • Paul told the church in Corinth that all who run in a race run, but one receives the prize — "so run, that ye may obtain" — and every man who strives for the mastery is temperate in all things; they do it for a corruptible crown, but we for an incorruptible (1 Corinthians 9:24-25).
  • The word "striveth" comes from the word we get "agony" from: no pain, no gain — athletes eat, sleep, and drink their profession and sacrifice their lives for their calling, and professional golfers and football players should not outdo the church for a perishable prize.
  • If it were easy to be godly, everybody would be godly — but just because it isn't easy doesn't mean it isn't possible: "I can do it."
  • An athlete tells his body what to do — his body wants to stay in bed, but the call gets him up to practice; most injuries come from a lack of stretching and preparation, and skipping prayer, Bible reading, and study brings the same kind of strain and pain spiritually.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Boundaries Removed: Calling Evil Good and Good Evil

  • The word landmark in Hebrew simply means a boundary or a border; to remove it was to say the land is no longer yours, blurring the lines of distinction and definition.
  • We live in a day when the boundaries have been removed: he found a list of 112 other genders — with male and female not even making the cut — and the world is redefining marriage, family, and morality, while the pulpit cannot be silent.
  • When we blend, we bend, and we will bend toward backsliding; a consecrated people will crucify the flesh and the mind and refuse to yield to thoughts they know are unrighteous.
  • Isaiah 5:20: "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter" — the anti-Christ system is not satisfied with calling bad good; it wants to pervert good and make it bad.
  • God help us when we start calling our landmarks and consecrations bad, or start looking at the things that have held us as a people of God as bondage.

Scriptures: Isaiah 5:20

One Stone at a Time: Guard the Doctrine

  • Look at denominational history: around 1900 the Presbyterians were speaking in tongues and living a holy life, and the Methodists were Holy Ghost-filled — but through the process of time one landmark after another was knocked out, one side of the building fell, then the next, until there was no building anymore.
  • If we are not steadfast and diligent, we will see the fulfillment of a form of godliness that denies the power thereof — we must stand true to our doctrines.
  • John wrote that if anyone comes to you and brings not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed (2 John 1:10) — and though an angel preach any other gospel, let him be accursed.
  • Another doctrine gets in through the mind, the ears, and the eyes before it ever gets to your house, so we must close not only the doors of our houses but the doors of our minds.
  • There is only one way and only one doctrine — and he recites the new-birth landmarks from John and Acts on into Romans and Corinthians — so the church cannot be satisfied with being born again on the milk; it must go on to the meat of the word.

Scriptures: 2 John 1:10

Keep the Ordinances

  • Standing, he reads Paul's words to one of the most carnal churches in the New Testament: "Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you" (1 Corinthians 11:2) — Paul kept working with Corinth until he could praise them for keeping what he taught.
  • "Keep" means to hold fast, keep secure, keep firm possession of: do not remove the landmarks.
  • Every reference to a landmark in Scripture speaks of the old or ancient — it will look antiquated and appear irrelevant in 2020, but there is still power in those ancient landmarks.
  • When our children come in a few years asking "What meaneth this?", God forbid we hand them a church that says it doesn't matter how you are baptized or how you dress and teaches them to blend in at school; take a stand for righteousness, and prove for yourself what is that good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
  • Relationship with God is forged through consecration: get in the book and prove it yourself, forge that relationship, and things in your life will start changing drastically and quickly.

Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 11:2

I Surrender All: The Altar Call to Consecration

  • He leads the church in prayer and calls people to step out and come to the altar to consecrate themselves — body, heart, and soul belong to God, and he wants all of you, not just Sundays and Wednesdays; relationship is forged through consecration and commitment.
  • Has your flesh cried out to be undisciplined, tried to dictate compromise, entertained unrighteousness, or listened to voices saying it really doesn't matter? It is time to get a hold of the horns of the altar and ask God to revive consecration in you — "I surrender all."
  • When you preach and teach on holiness there will be a fight first, but then a demonstration and great victories in the kingdom — this is a spiritual battle to crucify the flesh and get hold of our carnal appetites.
  • He thanks God for the evening, for the Bible study, for the ancient landmarks, and for the call to consecration, sensing a great harvest on the horizon and altars that have been inactive for too long.
  • God will not send souls and babes into a house that is not called to consecration and in order — he is getting us ready so that when the repenting, conviction, and impartation of the Holy Ghost begin, the church is ready to get them ready.
  • He prays for an activated personal evangelism witness, and for backsliders, prodigals, children, and grandchildren to be stirred awake and come home to a church that is red hot, on fire, and consecrated — so they feel it and want to be part of it.

if you have your bibles remain standing as i read my texts i will continue what i started last week a continuation of what i feel the spirit would have the church to hear in this season proverbs 22 28 removed everybody read this with me remove not the ancient landmark which thy everybody say fathers have set romans 12 1 through 2 familiar portion of scripture i beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of god that you present your bodies a living sacrifice holy acceptable unto god which is everybody say reasonable which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may be able to prove that you may prove what is that everybody say good and acceptable and perfect everybody say will of god how many want to live in the will of god how many want to know the will of god i want to know what the will of god is for my life so i'm going to i'm going to i'm going to flow in the holy ghost tonight because i feel it in this atmosphere right now our ancient landmarks relevant today are ancient landmarks relevant today my subtitle will be the call the call for consecration the call for consecration would you pray one more time with me father in the name of jesus i ask god that you would anoint my mind my body my soul my spirit let fresh oil anoint me tonight lord i cannot do the task that you have set before me without your anointing the anointing is what breaks the yoke the anointing is what makes the difference the anointing is what penetrates to the very moral of the bone in the name of jesus we pray and everybody say amen you may be seated tonight if you promise that you'll be good listeners and responders to the word everybody say landmarks

the arctic region of north america between alaska and greenland is dominated by vast level planes of tundra making it hard for there to be natural landmarks for this reason over many years the native people in these areas have used stone landmarks for navigation as a point of reference it would be used as stone landmarks as a point of navigation as a point of reference or as a marker for food storage there are many things many symbolizations of these stones but many were built in the shape of a man these stone structures you would arrive to them and that would be built in in the structure and designed in the shape of a man and it was to simply indicate to the passerby someone has passed this way before we find this very familiar portion of scripture in the book of joshua a similar monument was erected when the children of israel crossed over the jordan into the promised land god wanted them to remember the heritage their forefathers had given them and to know and realize that someone has passed this way before joshua 4 21-22 when your children shall ask their fathers in time to come saying what mean these stones then ye shall let your children know saying israel came over this jordan on dry land in the new testament church we also have been given a great heritage passed on to us by faithful men and women who left us a firm foundation we must never everybody say never forget where we have come from or we will never be able to get where god wants us to go aren't you thankful that god brought you out to bring you in to something better we as 21st century apostolic holy ghost field of christians need to know that without doubt that the things we believe are not just man's idea they're just not man's idea or an organizational rules or bylaws or codes but these are absolutely foundational truths from the word of god ephesians 2 and 20 and are built upon the everybody say foundation of the apostles and prophets jesus christ himself being the chief cornerstone i want to remind you on this wednesday evening that we have had others pass this way before i'm not the first preacher to preach acts 2 38. i'm not the first preacher to preach there's only one lord one faith one baptism i'm not the first one that has ever preached come out from among them and be separate we have had many who have already come this way before and they face their share of struggles hardships and persecutions hear me on this wednesday night hear the clarion call we owe it to those that have come before us we owe it to them to make sure when our children and our grandchildren and our great grandchildren walk this way before that they see some stones some landmarks that they will they will let by them they will let them know that others have walked this road and it's still the right road to walk this right road this highway of holiness is still the right road somebody say amen i'm afraid that too many apostolics have become rolling stones instead of lively stones i said it's not a time to roll be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine we've been handed a truth that is absolute it does not change when technology changes it does not change when seasons change i know that methods may change but the truth should never change somebody ought to shout amen god-given landmarks should never move or be removed i said god-given landmarks uh give brother paul and sister ann pence honor for passing this way before i honor every elder in this church who has stood for truth when it was unpopular and some who have already been buried and gone on to meet their reward but they have passed this way before we owe it to them i honor every pastor and there's several in this room i honor every minister who stands in a pulpit and declares the word of the lord without fear or favor even when it's unpopular even when when you could do something i could be preaching something different but i feel such a a urge in the holy ghost in this season of our church the state and hour that we're living in it doesn't take long to look around this world is in a mess i said this world is in a mess and if you're looking for the answers in a political party or in a person or you look wherever you want to look but you're not going to find what you're looking for but if we could get back to the preaching of the truth of the word of god it's in him we breathe it's in him we live it's in him we have our feeling hallelujah that's what's going to change the climate that's what's going to rid the racial strife the racial tension when we get our eyes on the lord jesus christ and realize that we are all children of the most high god we're all created equal in the eyes of god hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah a challenge a challenge and i know they're having their classes tonight but i'm going to speak because many will go back and watch watch this message i challenge every child i challenge every young person of this church i i challenge every young married couple to understand that you are standing on a foundation of great men and women and it would be a travesty for us to move landmarks that others have died to make sure would be sure steadfast and unmovable it would be a travesty for us to start moving moving landmarks that we know to be true god will always use people hear me this is worth writing down for somebody to go back and just let it marinate in your spirit god will always use people to the level of their consecration the more you are willing to consecrate and dedicate yourself to the call of god the more god will anoint you the more god will bless you and allow you to walk in divine favor i don't know about you but i don't want to be like the rich young ruler who had an opportunity to give god more and he left sorrowful i made up my mind many years ago after many many many battles and many struggles and many poor choices but there was something that clicked in my mind and in my spirit that said if i'm going to live this life i'm going to consecrate myself to everything that god's calling me to do our problem comes in is when we try to bend and blend with the world we want one foot in the world and we want one foot in the church and it just does not work you cannot be consecrated to two things you cannot serve two masters you cannot be consecrated to two things you gotta love one and hate the other you gotta cleave the one and turn loose or the other it's time for the apostolic church to make their mind up i'm cleaving to the truth i'm cleaving to what's right i'm consecrating myself to all the things that god's calling me to do somebody say i want to be used i want to make a difference i want to be anointed i want to be trusted i want to be used by god i want to be i want to make a difference i want to be anointed i want to be trusted by god you're going to do that and if that's your call you've got to be consecrated last week we talked about modesty that's what we talked that modesty still matters if you wasn't here last wednesday you need to get that message and you need to you need to watch it from beginning to end and tonight i want to continue with the ancient landmarks and talk to you about the call it's a call to concentr to consecration i feel is there if there's ever been an anointing on my life and an anointing upon me to preach something it's this right here because we are being pulled by every distracted voice in our society right now it does not matter what media outlet what social media outlet what friend or peer group you may have if you're not careful there is a pull toward the world that will grip you and pull you and and desensitize you to the call to consecration it will cause you to think it's irrelevant or it'll cause you to think i'm doing okay so i'm good but the word consecration when you look at it is defined to make or declare sacred to devote to a purpose with or as if with deep dedication i want to read that again the word consecration is defined as to make or declare sacred to devote to a purpose with or as if with deep dedication there's an old story about a man who had a mouse problem sure he had a mouse trout but when he went to the refrigerator to get some cheese to put in the trap he discovered he did not have any cheese what am i to do he wondered but then he got a bright idea instead of using actual cheese he decided to put a picture of a piece of cheese in the trap he said to himself this will work so he carefully set the trap and went to bed that night the next morning he hurried downstairs to see what he had caught to his amazement there in the trout you know what he found a picture of a mouse the moral of the story is that in order to be successful you have to have the real stuff and no imitations you can't cut corners to consecration you can't cut corners to consecration you're either all in or you're not they say a half truth is a a lie without true consecration to god we cannot be successful living for him i want you to notice this verse in matthew 22 14 for many are called but few are i looked at that scripture today and i began to look at it i'm certainly convinced that many are called to do great things from for god how many believe there are many that are called to do great things for god but only a few are chosen because of the price tag that is connected to entering into that call entering into that presence of god that's pulling you to do something great god does the calling but you do the choosing you think of it in that in that dimension why are few chosen because only few respond to the call the power of our testimony effectiveness and ministry will always begin with the level of our consecration as a born-again holy ghost-filled individual we need to pray lord make me as holy as a forgiven sinner can be but what we usually pray is make me a good singer make me a good preacher make me a good leader but what would happen if we started praying make me as holy as a forgiven sinner can be need i remind us we're all sinners saved by grace but with the holy ghost on the inside with the holy coast on the inside of me i can be holy he said be holy for i am holy holiness is something you and i can be don't believe the lie that you can't behold if the word says be holy that means we can be holy the reason why it's so important is because god can't always bless just a good singer or a good preacher or a good administrator but he cannot help but bless a holy singer a holy preacher a holy administrator you show me someone that's holy that's living under the unction of the holy ghost i'll show you somebody's uh that somebody that god's anointing is upon and the holiness of god is moving through them hear me tonight church a loss of consecration will always guarantee a loss of power and authority in our lives a loss of consecration will always guarantee a loss of power it's kind of like that that cord back there plugged into that socket it's plugged in but if there's no power there it's worthless it's useless if there's no power there the power source you got to be connected but you it takes more than just being connected there's got to be a consecration i'm sold out to this i want the current of the holy ghost to flow through me to make a difference in this lost and dying world hallelujah we cannot graduate to a place that we think i can just throw out all of my consecration all the things that i used to do all the things that i used to sacrifice and i'm still gonna have the same power and authority in my life it's just not gonna happen when we and if you and i begin to compromise or move landmarks then we begin to trust more in the arm of the flesh than we do in the spirit of god listen at what the paul listen to what paul taught the church at galatia these are strong words in galatians three and three now this this is strong kjv lingo or language listen at his tone are ye so foolish now i don't know if paul had a bad day that day i don't know if he got up on the wrong side of the bed brother spark i i don't know but he went to that church service he went to that meeting that night or that day whenever it was he preached a sermon and he looked at the congregation and he read them the rap right act if you want to say it like that looked them i bought an eyeball and said are ye so foolish what do you mean paul i'm trying to live for god but he read right through him are ye so foolish having begun in the spirit are you now made perfect by the flesh have we begun in the spirit sanctuary community church and now we are made perfect by the flesh hear me you were not filled with the baptism of the holy ghost you were not washed sanctified justified redeemed then to go back and fight spiritual battles in the flesh it was the spirit that made the difference in your life the first time and it's still the spirit that's going to make the difference every battle you face and fight you've just got to make up in your mind i'm going to crucify this flesh i did not begin this relationship and perfect it in the flesh i got started in the fire i will not settle in the smoke i've got to have a red hot burning zeal power of god moving in my life i gotta have it

listen to what paul said first timothy 4 7 8 but refuse everybody say refuse profane in old wives tables and exercise thyself rather unto godliness for bodily exercise profited little but godliness is profitable unto all somebody say all things having promise of this life that is that now is and of that which is to come well when uh let me just say that let me let me read that in the english standard you'll see it on the kjv having nothing to do with irrelevant irreverent silly myths rather train yourself for godliness for while bodily training is of some value godliness is a value in every way as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come i think sometimes we forget that god's called us to live a life now a promise of the life that now is yes we're looking forward to a day that's coming yes we're pilgrims passing through this land yes we are we're navigating through this thing called life but at the expense i believe sometimes we live a life short of the blessings of god what he has desired for us a realm of life that we can live in accessing the promises of god but that only comes to pass when we put into practice our training and exercise in godliness our godliness here will make our life here more better i guess that's what i'm trying to say if your life here is just become so miserable check am i living my life godly am i trying my best to live my life godly and if if godliness is nowhere in or around you maybe we need to maybe we need to look at that and and listen to what else i'm going to say paul was trying to prioritize with timothy when he said in verse 7 train yourself i want you to notice that train or discipline yourself timothy discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness this is a command everybody say a command we must discipline ourselves for godliness we must keep our hearts pure and our minds clean we must keep our soul unstained and our life holy paul was trying to tell timothy instruct him in the fear and the knowledge of god timothy you're a young man but you got to discipline yourself paul you're you're a young man i i've been over some bridges there's some there's a lot of water behind me there's a lot of hills and valleys behind me timothy but you've got to come to the rev to the revelation you've got to discipline yourself that word discipline comes from the greek word that has connections to the athletic world the greek word gymnasium which is where we get the word gymnasium or gymnastics the word means to exercise or train and to literally be naked please don't take your clothes off in the middle of bible study please keep your clothes on an athlete would go into a gymnasium and he would strip down and he would remove anything that would restrict the full movement of his body so that he could extend himself in training and in work out so he could build up his body and paul's telling timothy you need to look at that athlete and you need to learn from him because you need to be just like the athlete in the spiritual arena of life i want you to think about someone who wants to do sports for a living or run marathons for a living or a boxer for a living or mma for a living whatever you a golf for a living you baseball football do in order to compete you first got to make a decision i'm going to train but caden would you be starting if you didn't train probably not you had to get a discipline i like golf but i'm never going to get any better brother edwin you don't want to know why i don't play enough you know how i'm going to get better hunting got to hunt more got to get out there got to learn got to learn what's going on if i was a baseball player you know what i'm i got to train i'm going to be a weightlifter i've got to work out you can tell that ain't going to happen whatever whatever it is that you make up in your mind you've got to first make a decision i'm going to train i'm going to work out i'm going to go to the gym i'm going to change my diet did you know to become what you want to become it requires months and years in advance to produce what you ultimately want to be you want to be an athlete you can't go to the gym once a week you can't go to practice on mondays and not show back up till friday night i'm sorry that's just not the way it works you got to do it every day an athlete must strip down and get rid of everything that restricts movement he must come under the strict discipline of a trainer a coach a voice a mentor he must build up his muscles he must shed the baggage he must lose the fat he must run great distances he must build up his endurances in order to be prepared to compete in whatever event it is so when paul used that particular word to timothy timothy understood exactly what paul was trying to say he visualized an athlete he knew what it was to sit in the arena he knew what it was he watched them he understood the life of an athlete and as ministers and saints of the living god we must become like athletes who were disciplining ourselves to compete and win we must strip down of everything that would distract us or hinder us in our relationship with god we must let loose of the weights and the sin that would so easily beset us and what happens next is we get in shape spiritually as people who are striving to be successful in this kingdom of god we must lay aside every weight we must lay aside every sin we must deny ourselves many liberties we must get rid of all the excess baggage and we must get rid of anything that would keep us from getting into shape spiritually when we get into god's gym things change we work out in the word pump iron in prayer we exercise our muscles in faith and obedience we learn how to worship consistently even when we don't feel like it we're faithful to the house of god and the things of god when it's inconvenient we must shed what i would call the baby fat and we must abandon carnal appetites when these things begin to work in your life this is the commandment that we need in the 21st century we must learn how to discipline ourselves in godliness and in holiness and that is done through consecration that's done through consecration hallelujah you can't just wake up oh this is what i'm going no you got to get up every day this is what i'm going to do i got to get up every day this is what i'm going to do this is what i'm going to do god anoints holy people not talented people not gifted people not rich people not political people god anoints holy people now there are holy people who are talented there are holy people that are gifted there are holy people that are rich there are holy people that have position in offices and god uses them not because of their position talent or ability but it was because of their consecration to holiness hallelujah people who are consecrated people who are consecrated this has gripped my spirit the last several days the old landmark called consecration is how we get in shape spiritually listen to what paul told the church in corinth first corinthians 9 24-25 no you're not the that day which run in a race run all but one receiveth the prize so run that ye may obtain and every man that striveth for the mastery is temperant in all things now they do it to obtain a corruptable crown but we are an in but we an incorruptible crown the word strives striveth there comes from the greek word which is where we get the word agony you've heard it said before no pain no gain no pain no gain every man that striveth every man that agonizes every man that puts forth the effort in god's gym there will be pain there will be agony if it were easy to be an athlete then everyone would be an athlete if it would be easy to win the masters golf tournament we would all play golf if it were easy to win the world series we would all sign up and be at the baseball field tomorrow if it were easy to win the super bowl we would all play football if we're not careful we can gripe about how much money those people make but the reality most of us wouldn't and couldn't do is keep up with their schedules to do what they do they sacrifice their lives for their calling they eat sleep drink their profession if it were easy to be godly then everybody would be godly but just because it isn't easy doesn't mean it isn't possible you can do it say that with me i can do it god is trying to settle something in your spirit tonight are you willing to strip anything that would hinder you from falling head over heels in love with him what's keeping you from him what's that last what's that last thing that you're holding on to that consecration that moment of consecration he's waiting on he's longing for he's desiring in your heart i don't want some professional football player doing more for their god or their calling than we do for the kingdom of god i don't want tiger woods to do more for god for golf than i'm willing to do for the church those are that's the name we all understand we know the man spent his whole lifetime perfecting the game of golf and he literally changed the game of golf but he did it at the sacrifice of his family almost his life we cannot be willing to do anything less for him but in return we save our life when we lose it our family's saved by our consecration to god now i'll be honest with you i wouldn't understand their lifestyles in entirety now i've watched from i like sports i've watched from a distance i've been into it when i was younger i was really more into knowing the players knowing watching what they did but i really don't understand their lifestyle and i wouldn't i wouldn't expect them to understand ours but they're doing it for a corruptable crown and we're living what we're living and doing what we're doing for an incorruptible crown

if you'll listen to your pastor for the next few moments an athlete tells his body what to do why do we have such a hard time telling ours what to do his body gets tired his body wants to stay in bed his body wants to sleep but the athlete in him says you got to get up you got to go you got to practice you got to get to the gym you got a game come friday you got you it's coming it's happening you got to get up and you got to work out you know where most injuries come from not all but most lack of stretching before the game pull a muscle strain lack of preparation sometimes we can get into a place and god forbid i don't need to pray today don't need to read my bible today i don't need to study today and it almost is without fail there are moments of strain there are moments of pain there are moments of hurt that you know what i missed i missed my time with the lord today in the midst of the training of the body of an athlete the body would say stop but the athlete who has self-control pushes through the pain and he presses onto the mark and he will not listen to his body why he is answering a higher call as saints of god we ought to put olympic athletes to shame when it comes to our regimen of workout and lifestyle disciplines for the word of god and for ministry for involvement i would get involved pastor but i just don't know if i can commit but we'll commit hours upon hours of training for a job but we won't commit for the kingdom of god the word landmark in the hebrew simply means a boundary or a border when someone would would remove the landmark it was basically saying that this land is no longer yours and that you could now steal or buy it or just trample upon it because the landmark or the boundaries have been moved or removed so the lines of distinction and definitions have been blurred we are living in a day where the boundaries have been removed look around the lines of distinctions and definitions have definitely been blurred for example you were born either male or female we better say amen to that right there however this afternoon i did a little research there's a list of 112 other genders that you can relate to 112. you want me to really blow your mind of the list of 112 male and female did not even make the cut i promise you this world is doing its best to redefine marriage redefine family redefine sexual orientation redefine who can who you can have sex with and why you can have sex with them the pulpit can't be silent on this anymore nothing is off limits now when we start legalize when we start legalizing as a country should i say states start legalizing a pedophilia we as the church better wake up we better start waking up and start hitting our knees in prayer and start declaring the righteousness of god it'll never be right it's never been ripe it's still a sin i said it's still immorality and the church we the church better open our mouths and not remain silent when our peers and our co-workers start vocalizing all of these things and start trying to blend you know what when we blend we bend and we will bend toward backsliding the bible says and the landmarks and the boundaries will be no more there will be no lines of demarcations there will be nothing off limits but if we're consecrated unto god there's a righteous indignation that'll rise up on the inside of you you'll say to your flesh no my flesh is not gonna do what this filthy nasty carnal flesh wants to do i crucify it i crucify my mind i crucify my flesh i'll not yield to these thoughts some of you where did that thought come from i've never been exposed nothing is off limits and i'm just going i'm going to just be blunt and plain with you there are too many pulpits silence on this matter if we're waiting on the revolution to start in washington we've lost the battle the revolution must start in the church house the revolution must start in the pews it must start in the pulpit with preachers and ministers and and saints and pastors and evangelists and prophets speaking thus saith the word of the lord rebuking demons out of pew calling sin sin that's what's got to happen because if we're silenced we're seeing a fulfillment of this verse i read it today i put it in in my notes for tonight because this is where we are church isaiah 5 20 isaiah 5 20. woe unto them that call evil okay we'll take a lap on that but i'm gonna flip this coin on you and good evil that put darkness for light and light for darkness that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter i want you to notice that according to this verse the world system the anti-christ system is not just satisfied with calling bad good they also want to pervert good and make it bad god help us when we start calling our landmarks and our consecrations bad god help us when we start thinking those things that have held us as a movement as a people of god our landmarks and consecration god help us if we start looking at those things as bondage god help us when we start looking and thinking good is now bad the era that we're living and i never dreamed that i would say

these words i believe the hour in the spirit it's trying to redefine absolutes that's why we re read and see on the news all the time that the left's agenda is to make their views acceptable that redefining evil and calling it good but they are not content until they redefine good as evil i'm telling you as a church we're seeing it unfold right now we need ancient landmarks in this modern world like we have never had before i know some of you are going to brush this off is irrelevant but i'm convinced of this that i would be willing to argue that i'll argue this point this point right here with anybody that we are seeing a redefining of good that we're debating if it's bad just look around but the reason we have 112 gender types which we really don't is because we have blurred the lines of distinction from sexes we blurred that life how many remember last week when i made a statement on gender distinction and a women's apparel in men's apparel and i told you that men are now wearing dresses how many remember and i said something to this accord some of y'all think i'm crazy some of you think that that's not happening the very next day you can look it up for yourself if you have instagram if you go to gq it's a men's magazine a man a man or so-called man a man he ain't a man in my opinion a man wearing a dress literally wearing a skirt and a blouse a man this world we're living in is wicked this world that we're living in is trying to warp the thinking of the church you know most all denominations you go look at their history you go look the the way they have passed to hear from where they started go back to 1900. the presbyterians were speaking in tongues living a holy light the methodists were holy ghost field and living a holy life and the list could go on and on and on and on but what happened through the process of time through the process of ages and eras and advance advancements whatever you want to call it one landmark but we don't need that any that good is now bad we don't need to do that anymore that good is not necessary anymore and before long here we are we've knocked out one stone after another stone one side of the building begins to fall the next side will fall and before long you don't even have a building anymore you know what we're going to do we're going to see the fulfillment before the coming of the lord if we're not careful and we're not steadfast and diligent we're going to be seeing the revelation of they will have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof that's the era that we live in that's the moment of history that we're living in we must stand true to our doctrines let me let me read to you this is not in my notes media uh you you can get it in just a second once i find it's in second john pardon me the bible would say i did mark it so i'm going to give you a paraphrase because i didn't mark it and i wasn't going to insert it john was saying to the church if they don't preach this gospel this doctrine don't even let them in your house don't even say god bless you i know that's so hard to even embrace because we think there are many truths that's what's being pumped into our our educational society go to your college campuses you're going to find out there's no absolutes there is no truth there are many versions of the truth and that's the way they'll you want to understand why we're seeing the outrage in our millennials right now they don't even know they don't even believe there's a god in many cases there's multiplicity of god there's multiplicity of genders there there is multiplicity of different things what was that ii john 1 10.

if there come any unto you and bring not everybody say this doctrine receive him not into your house if it's so important this doctrine this that means there was going to be another doctrine introduced to them matter of fact it was already said though though i or an angel come preaching any other gospel let them be accursed there was a wave of transition in that early church there was a wave of transition and john right before the close right before the close of the of the new testament the great revelation that would be written in just one book later he's saying if there come any under you and bring not this doctrine don't even let them in your house there comes a time i know this is unpopular i know this this seems so cruel it seems so cruel but when people come to you and try to blur the lines of a benchmark landmarks that we know are true don't even don't even let them in your house don't even let them come in that's what the book said i didn't make those words up that's what the book said come preaching any come preach another you don't preach the doctrine that i'm teaching don't even let them in your house we've got to close not only our proverbial doors to our house but the doors to our mind before they ever get to your house they get to your mind they get in your ears they get in your eyes and we start we start alternating the way we think about things the way we look at things the way we perceive things and you know what that really isn't so bad after all maybe you know it may not be that bad it's another doctrine that you have stepped into a realm of belief into there is only one way there's only one way there's only one doctrine i don't care if there's 30 churches on this street right here if they don't preach the doctrine that's found in this word of god that is not contradicted john 1 1 john 3 5 acts 2 38 acts chapter 8 acts chapter 10 acts chapter 19 and the list goes on going into romans and going into corinthians where where we discipline ourselves and call ourselves unto holiness and righteousness and discipline it done in the moment you get the holy ghost it's a perfecting of the saints it's a perfecting of holiness it's a maturing in the word of god that we cannot be satisfied just being born again entry into the kingdom we must get off of the milk and go to the meat of the word a meat of the word hallelujah stand to your feet first corinthians 11 and 2 i've run out of time i had 10 more pages of notes and some of you are thinking god did i quit tonight i earned 15 minutes last week i'm going to let you go brother sparks at almost an hour now i praise you brethren that you remember me in all things and keep the ordinances as i delivered them to you paul was telling one of the most carnal churches in the new testament full of immorality go read corinth go read the ch about the church at corinth they were a messed up church they were a messed up church but paul kept working with him paul kept working with him paul kept teaching them and he got to a point that he would write these words now i praise you you're doing good church you're doing good brethren i praise you that you remember me in all things everything i've ever taught you ev the life i've lived before you keep the ordinances keep the ordinances there were so many ordinances that he laid into that church keep the traditions keep the landmarks the word keep means to hold fast keep secure keep firm possession of do not remove the landmarks every every reference to landmark in scripture always refers to the word old or ancient or old time in the in other words it's going to look and appear antiquated it's going to look does this really mean what i think it means this re it's so old it's so old does it really mean this in 2020 does it really mean what it pastors trying to emphatically tell us it may look old it may not appear like it's it's relevant today but there's still power in the landmarks there's still power in those ancient landmarks those stones that when time to come when william comes to you in a few years and asks what meaneth this when our kids get to a place and they start asking what meaneth this and you've been baptized in jesus name god forbid if you ever take them to a church it says it doesn't matter how you're baptized why do you dress the way you dress oh you don't have to do that i want you to blend in in school i want you to be like all the other girls and all the other boys at school i i want you to but if you'll take a stand and you'll stand for righteousness and you'll do what the word says and be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may that ye may prove that's that's my that's your responsibility don't wait on me to prove it you get in the book and prove it yourself get in the book and prove that which is good get into a relationship with god that you're proving that which is good which is acceptable which is perfect will of god form and forge that relationship through consecration and i promise you you're going to start walking in the will in the way of god and things in your life are going to start changing drastically drastically and quickly why don't we lift our voices right now this bible study has concluded why don't we lift our hands father in the name of jesus god you're stirring this great church you're stirring stirring the body of christ you're stirring us up to a place where we find ourselves searching the word search the word study to show thyself approved lord i'm asking you in the name of jesus that there would be a power of god unto salvation that there would be a working of our salvation in fear and in trembling lord there may be some pain but there is great gain on the other side lord i will not try to reason away my flesh and justify my flesh is it a heaven or hell issue lord i want to be pleasing unto you i want to consecrate myself unto you i want my body to be pleasing unto you o god i want to be the righteousness of christ i want to be on the highway of holiness god i ask god in your name we pray that there would be a stirring of the spirit a stirring of the mind a stirring of the very soul and the spirit god i pray you would bless this great people let there be a coming unawareness let questions get answered let determination let it rise in the heart allah i'm going to tell you when you preach and teach on holiness there's a demonstration that wants to take place there's a call to consecration right now i just feel like asking somebody you want to step out of your seat where you are and just come to this altar you just want to step out and walk to the front just you and god just you god i want to consecrate myself my body was not lord when i was saved i gave you my heart my soul my body it belongs to you oh god uh i pray a consecration of the spirit i pray a consecration of the holy ghost as we give ourselves to you oh god i give myself to you tonight oh god i sacrifice my flesh i don't want anything to stand between you and i god i don't want anything to stand between what you're asking for yes god i surrender i surrender i surrender o god

has your flesh wanted to be undisciplined as your flesh cried out as your flesh tried to dictate to you to compromise a lifestyle of holiness a lifestyle of consecration has your mind begin to play with you have you begun to dwell and meditate on things that you know the word of god would declare unrighteous have you been entertained by unrighteousness have you been under entertained by immorality has someone tried to tell you it really doesn't matter the alternate lifestyle distinction of the sexes it really doesn't matter you hear your pastor right now hear your pastor right now it's time to get a hold of the horn of the altar it's time to run to the mercy seat and ask god lord revive in me revive in me oh god um i have called you i have separated from my there's going to be a demonstration in this place in the next several services in this next several weeks is you cannot preach on holiness and righteousness without the enemy first fighting yes but great victories being established in the kingdom this is a spiritual battle that we're fighting a spiritual battle to crucify the flesh a spiritual body to get a hold of our carnal appetites a spiritual battle it says i i surrender all i surrender all i surrender all if all is what you ask of me i will not withhold he's wanting all of you not part of you he doesn't want just we can he just doesn't want sundays he doesn't just want wednesdays he wants all of you he wants everything he wants it all he wants relationship relationship is forged through consecration relationship is forged through commitment and tonight we surrender all

father i thank you for this evening i thank you for this bible study i thank you for the ancient landmarks i thank you for who we are as a people i thank you for a call to prayer i said it sunday i called a prayer a call to consecration um i felt a great harvest on the horizon i don't know if anybody else is feeling what i'm feeling in the spirit but this tank has been inactive for way too long these altars have been empty wait i know covets come in i know kovid's kind of got everything huh okay i get it but i'm praying a hunger and a thirst that will supersede a scare and a fear of covid that will draw people to the house and when they get in the house the house is in order the house is in order so that when the the singing and the preaching and the praying and the laying on of hands and the repenting and the conviction all start working hand in hand there will be a demonstration there will be an impartation of the holy ghost into lives that are are quite broken but there is a hunger that would say cannot be baptized what meaneth this i'm hungry for what meaneth this but that will only happen i said that will happen when we as the church heed the call to consecration he the call to a commitment to him why would god send soul why would god send babes into the house when we're not called to consecration why would they see a false witness of what the true living word hath declared god's calling us to a consecration so when they come in we're ready we're ready to get them ready but god's trying to get us ready so they can get ready hallelujah that's that's what god's trying to do right now in this season of time hallelujah i'm praying and i'm asking god and i want you to join with me that god would activate our witness our personal evangelism witness a personal evangelism witness that we would begin to speak and we would begin to open our mouths and god would speak through us and people would feel something and they would say where do you go to church well i've never felt that before and invite them to come and receive and feel what we've been feeling let it happen let it be join us tomorrow morning in our prayer time and pray that prayer that god would begin to wake up the backsliders that they would begin to be stirred the the prodigals be stirred children would be stirred grandchildren would be stirred and that they would wake up and say you know what i need to go home i need to come home i need to come brand new people come home brand new people come into the household of faith and when they get here the church is ready we're red hot we're on fire we're consecrated we're we're the zeal hath eaten us up of the house and they'll feel that and want to be part of it
