Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The Nicolaitan Spirit: A Deed That Becomes a Doctrine
- He opens mid-message: behind the deeds there is a spirit at work that influences and deceives, and a deed entertained long enough becomes a doctrine in a person's life.
- He could have titled the message around the keys and the doctrine of manipulation, but he believes God wants to uncover a spirit that is still at work tonight.
- The Nicolaitans were the followers of Nicolas of Antioch, a man who began well but drifted into error.
- Their deeds included compromising with culture: they taught that born-again, Holy Ghost-filled believers could participate in the immorality, feasts, and sensuality of the pagan world — in other words, just blend in and don't be so separated.
Scriptures: Acts 6:5
Grace Is Not a License to Sin
- He warns against lowering the standard and excusing compromise by pointing to the workplace or to personal circumstances.
- That spirit did not die in the book of Revelation; it is alive today, and Jesus said in red letters that he hates the deeds and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans because they push believers toward compromise with culture.
- Compromise loosens morals until sexual immorality is indulged under the umbrella of Christian liberty, and grace becomes a covering treated as permission to willfully disobey the word of God.
- He charges young people and parents alike: even if everybody is doing it, the Holy Ghost on the inside is the power of God, and parents must put a guard around their children rather than use grace as a license to willfully sin.
Holiness Cannot Become Optional
- Under this spirit, holiness becomes optional, and before long believers are not just bending but blending in with the world, though the word calls God's people to come out from among them and be separate.
- Holiness begins with the heart: the spirit of the Nicolaitans starts where nobody sees, and if the heart is gotten right, everything else will start flowing.
- He calls for an examination of what the church watches, listens to, and is entertained by — if we are entertained by what the Bible calls an abomination, an evaluation is overdue.
- A pastor cannot on Sunday rebuke and cast off what the congregation has been entertained by all week; the spirit is rocking souls and families to sleep.
To Conquer the People: Idolatry and Spiritual Hierarchy
- The Nicolaitans began to eat foods offered to idols, minimized the seriousness of idolatry, and blurred the lines between the Lord's table and pagan temples.
- He breaks down the name from two Greek words — to conquer, and the people: the spirit's one mode and purpose is to conquer Spirit-filled, separated people, and it conquers them by the flesh.
- It promotes a system where leaders rule over people rather than serving them, replacing shepherding with control and spiritual authority with spiritual abuse.
Why God Hates It, First: It Undermines the Cross
- It undermines the cross: the Lord Jesus Christ died to free us from sin, not to enable us in sin, and that is why this church believes in deliverance.
- He refuses codependence on the old life — dependence is on God and his Spirit; he is not who he used to be.
- He died, he bled, and he rose from the grave so believers can walk in freedom, and the Holy Ghost is the quickening power that gives victory over the flesh.
- Those who have struggled with addictions and habits must not declare the old identity over their lives: they have been delivered and set free.
Why God Hates It, Second: It Destroys Holiness
- It destroys holiness: 'Be ye holy' becomes optional rather than commanded, as the Nicolaitan spirit blurs the lines of holiness in the church.
- God's people do not live for God by feelings but by obedience; the word is settled whether or not a person ever feels convicted by it.
- He calls parents to guard their homes, their children's friendships, and their children's social media, YouTube, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts — good tools become destructive when the enemy gets involved.
- Believers cannot begin in the Spirit and perfect it in the flesh: getting in church enlists a person for battle, which is why there must be daily prayer, fasting, staying in the book, and faithfulness.
Pergamus: A Church Married to Culture
- It is a seductive spirit: Pergamus means 'married,' and the danger was a church married to culture rather than to God; when the church marries the world, holiness fades and doctrine erodes.
- He traces the slide: letting down on holiness and separation standards leads, step by step, to letting down on repentance, water baptism in Jesus' name, and the Holy Ghost itself.
- At Ephesus the deeds were present and hated; by Pergamus the practices had progressed into a held doctrine — when deeds are not confronted, they become doctrine, and what is done long enough will eventually be justified.
- Feelings must be measured against the word of God, its spirit, and its context, rather than allowed to lead a person into believing a lie.
The Doctrine Unpacked: What the Nicolaitans Taught
- The doctrine taught that grace means freedom to sin a little and that holiness is outdated — but holiness is not outdated.
- He illustrates with the tabernacle: morning and evening sacrifice kept the fire God started burning, and the priests carried that original fire as the tabernacle moved; in the New Testament, believers' bodies are the living sacrifice, offered morning and evening as their reasonable service unto God, not unto man.
- The doctrine taught that separation from the world is unnecessary; he warns to be leery of anyone who minimizes what God is dealing with a person about concerning holiness, and to respect others' convictions rather than belittle them, so the house can walk in unity.
- The doctrine taught that God does not require obedience, treated spiritual authority as control over people, and said a person can serve God and idols — a spiritual mixture Jesus said he hates.
The Danger and the Remedy: Repent
- The danger for every church, believer, and generation: what you tolerate today becomes your theology tomorrow; if we don't hate what Jesus hates, we will embrace what he condemns, and silence becomes approval.
- Parents must have real talks with their children — sexual immorality is sin — because unconfronted sin becomes normalized, whether children are in Christian schools or public schools.
- Ephesus rejected the deeds but Pergamus allowed the doctrine; what one church resists, the next tolerates and the next celebrates — but Jesus' remedy to Pergamus is not modify, adjust, rebrand, or reconsider: it is repent, turn around, shut the door, and kick compromise out.
- Reject any teaching that blurs the line between the church and the world, and any that turns grace into a license: grace empowers obedience and does not excuse rebellion — sinning on Saturday with a plan to repent on Sunday is rebellion.
- Reject any spirit of manipulation: the spiritual authority God gave him for this house is for protection, not domination, and truth must not be mixed with error nor Christ with compromise.
Hope for the Overcomer: The Hidden Manna
- Every false doctrine begins with an unchecked deed and every corrupt teaching with a tolerated compromise; the greatest danger to the church is not what is outside it but what the church allows inside.
- But Jesus closes with hope: to him that overcometh he will give to eat of the hidden manna, and he that hath an ear should hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
- The hidden manna means supernatural provision and an intimacy with God the world cannot comprehend — hidden to the world, just as manna was reserved daily for the children of Israel, a type and shadow Jesus steps into in the book of Revelation.
- The promise is for the submitted overcomer who rejects the deeds and the doctrine: supernatural revelation, intimacy with him, and provision the world cannot explain or give.
Scriptures: Revelation 2:17
Closing: Lose the Embrace, Receive the Love of the Truth
- He reads the charge aloud in closing: Pergamus held those of the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, and those that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing Christ hates.
- May God raise up a people like Ephesus who hate the deeds so the church never becomes like Pergamus, which embraced the doctrine — to hold a doctrine is to embrace it and bring it close, and it is time to lose that embrace and the attempt to mix both worlds.
- He calls families to the front in consecration: as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord — holding the apostles' doctrine and the truth of the Scriptures without rationalizing them so the flesh wins.
- He reads of the mystery of iniquity and of those who perish because they received not the love of the truth: the seed of the word is not the problem — the sower's seed falls by the wayside, among thorns, on rocks, or on good ground — the issue is receiving a love of the truth.
- His closing prayer calls the church into a daily, renewing relationship with the love of the truth, and declares that perfect love casteth out all fear for those afraid to take the next step, resting tonight in the grace that empowers believers to become overcomers.
Scripture index: Acts 6:5; Revelation 2:17.
It starts with a spirit that will influence and deceive you and get us the certain man and the deed will actually become a doctrine in your life. There's a spirit behind it all. I could have titled this message the keys and the doctrine of manipulation, but I believe there's something I feel that God wants to uncover tonight that there is a spirit at work influencing if we allow it and if we entertain it. testimony. The nickelans were the followers of Nicholas of Antioch in Acts chapter 6 verse 5. A man who began well but drifted into era. The deeds of the nickelutans included compromising with culture. They taught that bornagain Holy Ghostfilled believers could participate in immorality in the feast and the sensuality of the pagan world. Yeah. In other words, just blend in. Don't be so separated. It's not a big deal. Kind of sound familiar today? Just just compromise with culture. Well, pastor, you don't understand. You don't understand where I work. You don't understand what I what I'm going through. You We better be careful when we lower the standard and say, "I believe I want to compromise with culture." Come on now. We got to guard against the spirit of the nickelas. Because that spirit did not die in the book of Revelation. It's still alive and well today. And if it can convince those that have been born again of water and spirit in the early church when the church was established and Jesus would pin these words, these are red letters in the book of Revelation. He's saying, "I I hate it. I hate the deeds and I hate the doctrine of the nickelans because it tries to get us to compromise with culture." Yeah. And if it can't do that or if he can do that, we're going to get loose with our morals. That's right. If we get loose with our morals, let me tell you, there will be an indulgent in sexual immorality under the under the umbrella of Christian liberty. In other words, grace becomes a license to sin.
Yeah, grace begins to be an umbrella that we op grace cover me. Grace is there to cover. Yes, it is there to cut. But it does not give us a license to willfully disobey the word of God. Don't you listen to that spirit. Don't you listen to that spirit. I don't care if everybody is doing it. Young people, I don't care if everybody in your junior high in high school. If everybody's doing it, you got the Holy Ghost on the inside of you. AND IT'S THE POWER OF GOD UNTO Come on, MAS DADDIES. WE GOT TO PUT A WE GOT TO PUT A GUARD AROUND OUR BABIES AND SAY, "I WILL NOT ALLOW MY KID. I will not allow me as a parent to use grace as a license to willfully sin." We've got to say no to this flesh. The spirit of the nickelatans is one that caters to this flesh. No. And and right along that same you know what the spirit of the nickelans will do that moral looseness. Holiness becomes optional. Holiness becomes optional. Amen. Before long we're we're we're not just bending. We're blending in with the world. When the word says, "Come out from among them and be ye separate. Come out from among," we are called by him. We're called holy unto him. Holiness of the heart. Hallelujah. We've got to do an examination. The things we watch, the things we listen to, the things we're entertained by. I know I sound like a broken record. It's another First Family Wednesday, but I'm digging for revival. Holiness, it cannot become optional. If you're entertained by what the Bible calls an abomination, if we're entertained by things that the word of God, Come on, we better do an evaluation. The spirit of the nickelutans uh is rocking our souls and our families to sleep. And you expect me as a pastor on a Sunday to come and rebuke and cast off what we've been entertained by all week. I'm trying to help us tonight. I'm trying to help us tonight. Holiness cannot become optional. And let me just say holiness is it it's a bigger subject than just and it includes it.
But I'm more worried tonight about the holiness of the heart. Cuz if I can get the heart right, everything else will start flowing. Everything else, we got to get the heart right because the spirit of the nickelans start where nobody sees. It starts where the eye cannot see. But if that spirit gets in you and that spirit begins to try to justify behaviors because your flesh, you're being entertained and your the deeds are soon to follow. Hallelujah. When you look at the spirit there, there in the nickelans, they begin to to eat foods offered to idols. They begin to minimize the seriousness of idolatry. They blur the lines between the Lord's table and pagan temples. Number four, the the spirit or the deeds of the nickelatans. These are not limited, but this is just what I discovered. A spiritual hierarchy. The nickelan comes from two word two Greek words nikaya or to conquer leos the people in other words to conquer the people to dominate the leoty. Let me just tell you what the spirit of of the nickelans does. It has one mode and one purpose to conquer somebody that's been spiritfilled that's been separated unto God. It will conquer you by your flesh. Yeah, good teaching. What happens is that it promotes a system where leaders rule over people rather than serving them. They replace shephering with control. They replace spiritual authority with spiritual abuse. Anytime your flesh wants to rule, it will win the day. That's why the word says God hates it. Then I then I start saying, why does God hate this spirit? Why does God hate the deeds and the doctrine? Let me just tell you why. It undermines the cross. That's right. It it it undermines the cross. The Lord Jesus Christ died to free us from sin, not enable us in sin. That's why we believe in deliverance in this church. Uh that's why we believe uh in the name of Jesus, you can walk in freedom. I wish I had some family help tonight.
I don't believe it's THE WILL OF GOD FOR WE TO WALK IN CODEPENDENCE. NO, WE'RE DEPENDENT ON GOD. WE'RE DEPENDENT ON HIS SPIRIT. I'M NOT CODEPENDENT. I'M DEPENDENT ON HIM. I'M NOT THAT OLD MAN. I'M NOT WHO I USED TO BE. I'm not going to let a spirit undermine the finished work at Calvary. He died. He bled. He rose from the grave so I could walk in freedom. I can walk in freedom. Don't you let the spirit undermine the cross. The Holy Ghost is the quickening power that I can have victory over this flesh. I can walk in victory. I can walk in freedom. Hallelujah. Don't you Don't you wake up every morning if if you've struggled in certain addictions and certain habits and s you're not always going to be an alcoholic. That's right. Don't you declare that over your life. You've been a drug. Don't declare you're still a No. Brother Kenny, we've been delivered. [panting] We've been set free. I refuse to let a spirit come in to undermine the power that I have access through to the cross, through the blood, through his name, through his word, so why does God hate it? It undermines what he did. That's right. It undermines the cross. It undermines the spirit. Number two, I know I'm going back to this. It destroys holiness. That's why God hates it. It destroys holiness. Be ye holy becomes optional rather than commanded. As I prayed this afternoon, something come over me in my office. And I begin to I begin to pray and and I I I begin to pin these I begin to pray against the spirit that's trying to blur the lines of holiness in our church. We are a holiness people. We are unashamed of who we are. And the reason maybe we struggle with it because we don't come in full agreement with what the word says because the nickelan spirit wants to just blur the lines and destroy in your mind and in your thinking. Well, I don't feel good being like this. I don't I I I feel like this I I don't want to be rude or please understand my heart.
We don't live for God by feelings. We live for God by obedience. Oh God, help me tonight. Please understand the severity of my heart. The the sincerity and the severity that I feel in the Holy Ghost tonight. Hallelujah. And I'm going to make this as plain as I can. Whether you ever get convicted or not, it doesn't change what the word says. That's right. Whether I get convicted or not, the word didn't say obey if you get convicted. Come in agreement if you get con. No, no, no, no. This word settled whether I get convicted or not. There is a spirit at work as I preach trying to convince some of you this consecration to God doesn't matter. Guard your homes. You don't see it right now. Guard your children's friendships. Guard your children's social media accounts. That's holiness. Guard your children's YouTube and guard your children's chap uh Snapchat if they have it. Wouldn't advise it, but if they have it, you better you better check on them. Guard their Instagram and Facebook. That was tick tock. Those are all good tools when used right. But if the enemy gets involved and the spirit of the nickelans gets involved in it, it'll destroy the purity. I was in the presence of a pastor today that was on the phone with a situation where an underage girl was sending images to a grown man and he had to call the authorities and report it. Y'all really going to like this? And then had to call the guy's pastor who lived in another state. Well, that never happened to my daughter. We better get our head out of the sand. The spirit is at work trying to influence our children, trying to influence our home. I thank God we've got strong families. And for most, if not 99% of us, this is just preventative maintenance. 99.9. This just preventative maintenance because I'm trying to wake up a guard. I'm trying to wake up a guard on the wall that says, "I can't go to sleep. I've been busy. I'VE BEEN WORKING 50 HOURS A WEEK.
I'VE BEEN GOING AND BUSY AND DOING AND THE ENEMY IS TRYING TO SLIP IN. I I'VE been We can't get so BUSY THAT WE NEGLECT GUARDING BECAUSE IT ONLY TAKES one time. It can it only takes one time. One time. Guard your homes and your hearts against this spirit. We can begin in the spirit, but we can't begin in the spirit and perfect this in the flesh. You can't you can't perfect it in the flesh. That's why you got to pray every day. Well, I thought when I got in church it was going to be it. You just enlisted for battle. You just enlisted for the war. That's why you got to pray every day. That's why you got to fast. That's why you got to stay in the book. That's why you got to come to church. That's why you got to be faithful to the king. That's why you got to say, YOU KNOW WHAT? I'M SOLD OUT TO THIS THING. I believe this with everything in me. Why? Mama, why is God hate it? Y'all still with me? I I'm telling you, it seduces the church into the world. Yes, sir. It's a seductive spirit. Pergamus, the church at Pergam, Pergamus meant married. The danger was a church married to culture rather than God. When the church marries the world, holiness fades and doctrine arose. That's right. When the church marries the world, I've seen too I got too many examples where people the first thing they ever did was let down on holiness. They started saying, "Ladies don't have to dress modestly. Men can men can do whatever they want to. We have no biblical separation standards. We have no conduct in dress or conduct in how we live. It's all right for for Well, you know what? It really don't hurt to trim your hair. Boy, y'all done got quiet on me. Boy, I can hear a rat licking ice in here now. But I'm telling you, we start letting down on that. We start letting down on this. We start letting down on you. Why not let down on repentance and water baptism in Jesus name? Why not? What? You really don't have to have the Holy Ghost.
What? Why? What? Why aren't we anchored to this and letting go of this and why? Before long, when we decide, I'm just going to marry and get the spirit of the world in the church. Let me tell you, holiness fades, doctrine erodess. Yes. But God's put a watchman on the wall tonight to tell us if we'll guard against the spirit of the nickelans. I'm telling you in THE HOLY GHOST THAT GOD'S GOING TO RESURRECT FAMILIES IN THIS CHURCH. GOD'S GOING TO PRESERVE REVIVAL. GOD'S GOING TO ESTABLISH A CHURCH THAT HE IS well pleased with because the deeds I told you why God hated it. It became a doctrine. By the time we get to Pergamus, you have those who hold the doctrine of the nickelans. It was Ephesus. the deeds were present and they hated it. They they were but in Pergamus that we we done progressed in this church that they were holding the doctrine. What what does that mean? Their practices were no longer occasional behaviors. They become a structured belief system. When deeds are not confronted, they become doctrine. Yeah. What we do long enough and I'm putting we I'm where we you I'm your pastor but I'm still flesh. What we do long enough will eventually we'll start to justify it. Well, pastor didn't say nothing to me this Sunday. I guess he's all right with it. Pastor shouldn't have to say nothing. The Holy Ghost should be the teacher and the convvictor of the heart. I'm not here to micromanage. I'm not here with a Well, I guess pastor ain't said. I guess that No, no. The mercy of God is reaching and he's pulling. He said, "I'm wanting to draw you into the spirit of holiness, not the spirit of the nickelans." Yes. But but if you do something long enough, you'll eventually justify it in your mind. What begins as compromise, it will become a convict. You'll believe you're okay. The Bible said we'll believe a lie and be damned. Oh, it made me feel good. I don't want to go to hell because of my feelings.
I don't want to backslide because of my feelings. If I'm led by my feelings and not his spirit in his word, your fe you want to measure your feelings, measure it against the word. Well, I'm feeling this. Is it contrary to the word? Is it contrary to the spirit of the word? Is it contrary to the spirit of the context of the word? Yeah. Is there types and shadows that would lead us in a direction to say, you know what, we probably need to put a fence there. What starts in the flesh, oh God, I'm telling you, the Holy Ghost for three hours downloaded almost four hours. What starts in the flesh becomes a teaching in the church. You want to know why we fast 21 days? You know why we have regular prayer? You know, we have regular services. What if I said, you know what, we're just going to have church on once a month. Y'all look at y'all would find another church. I promise you. Well, I want to make it, you know, once once a once a week or once a month is enough. And you know what I'd be saying? That satisfies my flesh. I wonder how many spiritual babes or how many spiritual encounters we'd have if we just started letting our flesh become ruler. We got to stay consecrated. We've got to stay dedicated. The doctrine of the nicicoatans taught us and teaches us that grace means freedom to sin. That's what the doctrine was. Grace means it's okay if you sin a little bit. It was basically saying holiness is outdated. Let me just pause there. Let me just pause there. Holiness is not outdated. It's 2025. But I was telling my son-in-law today, what kept the fire going in the tabernacle? Sacrifice. No sacrifice, no attention by the priest. Fire goes out. Morning and evening sacrifice kept the fire. The fire started by God. It had to be maintained with animal sacrifice every day. What happened when they moved the tabernacle? Those priests had to keep that fire going in pots and and those those pans.
We've seen Dr. Hamilton show us. And they would get to a pl they would keep they would keep that going. They would keep that going. And when they got to the next place and the cloud would stop or the pillar of fire would stop, they'd erect that they would erect the tabernacle and they would go to that brazen altar and they would have the original fire still going and they would start animal sacrifices all over again. Jump to the New Testament. What keeps the fire of God burning in our heart? Now our bodies are a living sacrifice. That's right. He lights the fire on the inside. What do we give him every morning and every evening? We give him our bodies. Our bodies are a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto the Lord, which is our re Oh my lord. Our reasonable service. What I'm doing, WHAT YOU'RE DOING IS NOT FOR MAN. That's right. It's not to BE IN THE CHOIR OR A PRAISE TEAM. IT'S NOT TO BE INVOL. IT'S UNTO GOD. IT'S UNTO THE LORD. IT'S NOT TO SAY YOU GO TO THE SEC. NO, NO, NO. I DO WHAT I I WANT TO PLEASE HIM. It's my reasonable service. IT'S WHO I AM. OH, it's not outdated. God just changed what he did in the New Testament. He changed the formula if you would. He changed the mode and operate. It went from anosite. He became sacrificed. He came back, filled us with his spirit. And now we are walking, talking sacrifices unto the Lord. Amen. Holiness is not out. It's not outdated. The doctrine of the nickelans taught that separation from the world is unnecessary. be be be weary and lery, I should say, leery of anyone that would minimize I want to say this so respectful that would minimize or discourage you from walking in what God's dealing with you concerning holiness. If somebody said you, you don't have to do that. But if God's dealing with you and God's put you saw the revelation of it in scripture and you you know what God's con convicting you of through scripture or in pre it may it may not be conviction yet to do but you've seen it.
Man, I need to obey that revelation. Revelation then brings understanding. understanding them brings conviction when conviction we live in a very dangerous world and I hate to say I pray to God it doesn't creep into the church where you may not be convicted of something but if somebody else is don't minimize what their convictions are you respect what their convictions are I'm not going to be a stumbling block to you. I I'm going to join you and we're going to walk. There's people in there. There's no two humans that's in this building right now that agree and believe everything the same. Everything. I'm talking about everything. But you know what we do? We can walk in unity in this house. We can walk in togetherness in this house. We're going to go to heaven together in this house. We're going we're going to walk as brothers and sisters. And you may have a stronger conviction in one area, but I may have a stronger conviction in another area. Don't belittle me. I don't belittle you. You understand what I'm saying? We're walking together in unity. The doctrine of the Nickelutans taught that God does not require obedience. That spiritual authority, authority means control over people. I'm the watchman over your over your soul tonight. I'm not trying to usurp authority. I'm trying to out of the puress of my heart say we've got to guard against the spirit of the nickelans. The doctrine of the nickel say oh you can serve God and idols. You can serve God and mix it with the world. that spiritual mixing, that spiritual mixture if you would, God and idols, God and the world, it's not acceptable. Jesus says about this doctrine, which thing I hate. If you can hang with me about eight more minutes, I'm going to try to move quickly. The danger for every church, the danger for every believer, and the danger for every generation is what you tolerate today becomes your theology tomorrow.
If we don't hate what Jesus hates, we will embrace what he condemns. Private sin becomes public teaching. If we don't confront sin, sin becomes normalized. If I don't preach, and I know it's first family, but parents, we better be having real talks. We better be having real talks with our children. That sexual immorality is sin. You've got kids. They may go to Christian schools. They may go to public schools, but there better be a conversation that where we better be fostering a relationship where we can pray over them, tell them to keep them, pray over them, and protect them because they're going to get to a school. They're going to seek something. They're going to question, if not careful, their identity. Yes, sir. They're going to question, "But I feel certain. I feel this way. I feel that way. If we don't confront, if we don't lovingly confront sin, sin just becomes normalized. And I have to say this, silence becomes approval. Ephesus rejected the deeds, but Pergamus allowed the doctrine. What one church resists the next churches tolerates and the next church celebrates. But here's the remedy. Jesus says to the Pergamus, repent or I will come quickly. He doesn't say modify. He doesn't say adjust. He doesn't say rebrand. He doesn't say reconsider. No, he's saying repent. Turn around. Shut the door. Draw the line. Kick compromise out. The call to this great church. Reject any teaching that blurs the line between the church and the world. Holiness still matters. Purity still matters. Separation still matters. Reject any teaching that turns grace into a license to sin. Grace, hear me. Hear me. This is grace empowers obedience. It doesn't excuse rebellion. You want to be able to walk. When you walk in obedience, you're walking in the grace of God. When you walk in obedience, you're walking in his mer. You're in communion with goodness and mercy when you walk. But if we walk in grace knowing and willingly to sin, I'll do it on Saturday and I'll repent on Sunday.
That's rebellion. Well, I'll do it on Friday night, but when I get to church, I'll go to the That's rebellion. Reject any spirit of manipulation. We are servants one to another. The spiritual authority God's given me for this house is for protection, not domination. I'm walking in this anointing tonight very gently because I feel so deep in my spirit. Yes, there are those that abuse the the office, but God, I'm not using the authority as domination, but God, if you knew, I asked God to search my heart. God, you know my heart. I want to use for your protection. We cannot allow a spirit to cause us to mix truth with error. We can't mix Christ with compromise. And I'm going to close. Musicians can come. Oh God, this last point is I let down the wheels. Oh God, families, church, SEC, we've got to guard ourselves from small beginnings. Amen. Every false doctrine begins with an unchecked deed. Every corrupt teaching begins with a tolerated compromise. The greatest danger to the church is not what is outside the church. It's what the church allows inside. But I've got hope. Jesus closes with hope in Revelation 2:17. To him that overcomemeth will I give to eat of the hidden mana. That's in script. You go read it. Verse 17. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches. to him that overcomemeth. You've overcome the deeds and the doctrine of the nickelans. You've overcome the spirit that would try to allure you to compromise and mix the church and the world. If you hang on and you overcome some things and you make some consecrations of the heart to you to the overcomer if I reject those teachings Jesus says I'm going to give you hidden mana. Let me tell you what that means. I'm going to give you supernatural provision. I'm going to give you intimacy with me that the world cannot comprehend. It's hidden to the world. Just as mana was reserved daily for the children of Israel.
Just as mana was reserved for the Israelites, Jesus steps into the book of Revelation and uses that type and shadow. If you'll have a spirit of an overcomer, if you'll reject the deeds and the doctrine that's trying to creep into the church and you get the spirit of an overcomer, a submitted spirit that says, you know what, I may not understand it. I may not have a full revelation. I may not even I may not even be what you call convicted, but I know there's some hidden mana that I'm going to eat from that's reserved for me that will give me supernatural revelation that will give me intimacy with him. There will be supernatural provision that the world cannot explain. The world cannot because the world can't give it. Jesus said, "I will give him hidden manner. A church without compromise. A church that hate what Jesus hates. A church that loves holiness. A church that says, you know what? I'm going to protect the flock. I'm going to refuse the mixture of the world. I'm going to draw clear lines for my family. I don't care who makes fun of them. I don't care who says, "Well, I'm going to draw clear lines and demarcation." I will choose repentance every time. This church is going to stand for truth no matter the cost as you stand to your feet. Oh, but I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balum, who taught Bailo to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the nickelans which things which thing I hate. In my closing statements, may God raise up a people like Ephesus who hate the deeds so we never become like Pergamus who embraced and held the doctrine. If I could use this mic as an illustration, I'm holding it. For you to hold a doctrine, you've got to embrace it. You got to bring it close. I say it's time we lose our relationship with the doctrine of the nickelans.
But what about what about my family? What are they going to say? It doesn't matter what your family says. Doesn't matter what they say. What's God saying to you? What's my peers going to say? It doesn't matter. What's God saying? If we would lose the grip and the embrace of trying to mix both worlds, the church, God's kingdom, and the kingdom of if we would just say, you know what? As for me and my house, we're going to serve the Lord. As for I'm I'm going to hold doctrine of truth. I'm going to hold the doctrine that was passed down. I'm going to hold the apostles doctrine. I'm going to I'm going to hold the truth of the scriptures. I'm not going to rationalize it and try to make my flesh win in the process. If your flesh wins, more than likely you've lost out with God. if your flesh wins. That's right. Because if you go to do something and that old devil rises up and say, "Well, what about this?" And what about He's trying to talk you out. That spirit's trying to talk you out of consecrating unto God. That spirit's trying to talk you out of going in and deeper with God. Could I have some moms and dads and families that would say, "I want to come to the front, pastor. I want to walk to the front. God, you're Jesus. I will not be. Give me a love for truth and all the things that draw me close to you. Oh God, love so strong that I will not be moved. Your family depends on you tonight. I will not be moved. It's a consecration unto God. You are the truth. You mean more to me than words could ever say. And I promise, Lord, I'll never walk away. Give me a love for truth. I'll never walk away. Give me a love for truth. And all the things that draw me close to you. A love so strong that I will not be moved. I will not be moved because you are the truth. You mean more to me than words could ever say. I don't want to lose out with you. So I promise Lord I'll never walk away. I'll never walk away.
I'll buy this truth and I won't sell it. I choose this truth above all else. I'll buy this truth and I won't sell it. I choose this truth above all else. I'll buy this truth and I won't just turn this into a prayer meeting tonight. I choose this truth. Maybe you need to make some great bows with me. Maybe you need to say yes to the call and I will battle the spirit of the nickel tried to convince you for truth and all the things that draw me close to you. A love so strong that I will not be moved. I will not be moved because you are the truth. You mean more to me than words could ever say. So I promise, Lord, I'll never walk away. I'll never walk away. Your love for truth and all the things that draw me close to you. A love so strong that I will not be. One more time. for truth and all the things that draw me close to you. A love so strong that I will not be moved. I will not be moved. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work. Only he who now letth will let until he be taken out of the way. And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with all the brightness of his coming, even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceleness and unrighteousness in them that perish. And here is the great demise because they received not the love of the truth that they might be saved. And for this cause God send shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie that they all might be damned who believed not the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. If you're standing in this sanctuary tonight, you've come for very long at all. Some of you have went through path of life. Some of you have sat under our ministry. You've heard truth taught. You've heard truth preached. But there is a divine transition. It's like seed in the hand of the swer.
Will it fall by the wayside? Will it fall in the thorns? Will it fall in the rocks? Will it fall in good? The seed is not the problem. The word is not the problem. We hear it. But the Bible did not say because they had not heard the truth. The Bible said they received not a love of the truth. It did not say the love for the truth, the love of the truth. Because truth is love. If you could see the Lord tonight, his character is love. He's saying, "Receive my nature. Receive my love. Receive the love of the truth." When you come in relationship with truth, there is a love that flows from it unto us. And we fall in love with truth. And it's a relationship that cannot be destroyed by the wicked one that cannot be destroyed by the spirits of this world. I say to us tonight, sanctuary, we must fall in love. We must fall in love with the love of the truth. When we do that, there's not a spirit in hell. There's not a spirit of the wicked one that can deceive us, that can destroy us, that can cause us to fall away and backslide. I don't want to just know about the love. I want to know the love. I want to know the love of the truth. Father, right now in the name of Jesus, God, I want to be saved. I want to be saved, God, I don't want to die lost. I don't want my children to I want to go to heaven with my family. I want to see my children go to heaven with me. I want to see this church and all the families of this church, us go to heaven together. God, I call this church right now into a relationship with a love with the love of the truth. A love that cannot be manufactured with hands. A love that cannot be manufactured in the flesh. But oh God, in the spirit, let there be a relationship forged tonight. Let there be a relationship cultivated not with just knowledge, not with just lip service, not with just occasional visits, oh God, but God with a daily renewing, a daily reoccurrence with your word, with your truth, with your character.
God, I thank you for this night. I thank you for those that have walked into the sanctuary. God, I pray as I in my my message from you, my heart that has been stirred by you, may we walk in the love of the truth. Perfect love casteth out all fear. Some of you right now, you're fearful to take that next step. You're fearful to say, you know what? I can do this. I want to pray one more. I come against the spirit of fear. It's trying to intimidate you and trying to plant seeds of of doubt and fear. But tonight, God, perfect love casteth out all fear. God, you're putting it in our hearts. You're putting it in our hearts. No matter what, who says what, what comes, what may, God, I've come to relationship. I've come in a relationship with the love, the love that passes all understanding, the love that passes really comprehension. God, this week, you're going to let us taste and see that the Lord is good. You've got hidden mana reserved for us. You've got hidden mana reserved for us. Supernatural provision, supernatural Oh Lord, tomorrow, tonight, let us go home and let us rest tonight in the grace that you've empowered us to become overcomers. grace that empowers that we can walk victoriously. I thank you for this night. I thank you for your word. I thank you for this great church. God, I pray they have received my words inspired tonight by you under the anointing, under the comfort and care of a pastor and shepherd. May they go into the hearts and the reservoirs of the mind. In the name of Jesus we pray. Could everybody say amen?
