Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
Protecting the Stand: The Text and the Title
- He reads his text: take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand — stand therefore.
- He announces his word for 2026 and this season, preaching on the title 'Protecting the Stand.'
- The armor of God was never meant to be put on and sat down in; it was put on to stand — the scripture starts with stand and ends with stand.
- He has come to help every man, woman, family, and young person, wherever they are in life, protect the stand, and he opens with prayer for the anointing.
Scriptures: Ephesians 6:13-14
A Real Battle for the Family
- There is a battle for the family: the family is God's first institution, and because of that it has always been the enemy's primary target.
- Paul wrote to believers living in a hostile environment — the evil day — when culture shifts rapidly, righteousness is questioned, morality is redefined, and holiness is ridiculed.
- God does not instruct families to retreat, blend in, or remain silent; his command, still crystal clear in 2026, is stand.
- The battle is not flesh and blood — not your spouse, children, or boss — but a spiritual battle fought on many fronts: cultural pressure to compromise, moral confusion passed off as tolerance, media influence, and attacks on biblical marriage, identity, and authority.
- The home is ground zero; neutrality is not safety and silence is not strength, and families that do not intentionally stand will slowly drift.
The Whole Armor of God, Piece by Piece
- It takes the whole armor of God — partial protection is not enough, and God does not offer partial protection for a full-scale war; many want God's covering without God's commands.
- The belt of truth holds the family together; the breastplate of righteousness guards how we live; feet anchored in the gospel of peace give stability in evil times.
- The shield of faith extinguishes every spirit of doubt, fear, and false lie; the helmet of salvation protects the mind — don't forget where God saved and redeemed you from.
- The sword of the Spirit is God's word spoken and lived out in our lives; we don't have a sin problem, we have a word problem, because the word hidden in the heart challenges and convicts the flesh.
- What you don't put on is what you expose: each missing piece names the enemy's point of attack — division without truth, a life you never dreamed of living without righteousness, instability without peace, doubt and fear without the shield, a toyed-with mind without the helmet.
- Jesus in the wilderness fought the enemy with the word — 'It is written' — and getting enough word in you may be the missing piece of the armor.
Samson Stood Outnumbered
- Samson stood surrounded by Philistines with no sword, no army, and no escape — but when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, he saw his weapon: the jawbone of a donkey lying there.
- The most unlikely weapon defeated a thousand enemies that day; God does not need our perfection or perfect tools to fight the devil.
- What he needs is a willing man, woman, or young person who will say, 'I'll use whatever I've got' — a jawbone, a praise in the heart — and stand anyway.
- God's power will meet you in obedience: he meets you when you start stepping out in faith, so don't question what he has put in your hand — use it.
Scriptures: Judges 15
The Three Hebrew Boys Would Not Bow
- When the music played, everybody bowed except Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who stood while culture was demanding them to bow.
- Their refusal placed them in the fiery furnace, but the fire also created a space for God to be in the fire with them; they declared that God is able to deliver — but if not, they still would not bow to false gods.
- Standing may bring heat, but compromise will bring captivity; you went in bound and in the minority, but when God shows up he brings a majority, and what was sent to consume you becomes the tool God uses to liberate you.
- Every family must decide tonight, before the pressure comes, that they will not bow — no plan B, no alternate, no escape route, the quit option removed before the battle ever shows up.
Scriptures: Daniel 3
Shammah Stood in the Middle of the Field
- At harvest time the Philistines attacked the field and others fled, but Shammah stood in the middle of the field alone and said, in effect, 'If you're going to take this field, you're taking me out with it.'
- Because one man stood and protected his stand, the Lord wrought a great victory — Shammah gets preached about, but it was the Lord's response to a man who would stand when it didn't make sense.
- What you refuse to defend, you will lose: your marriage is your field, your children are your harvest, your home is your holy ground.
- Don't abandon the field because the enemy showed up, because you had a bad day, or because something didn't go your way — you have too much time, labor, and seed in this ground, and you can see the harvest growing.
Righteousness Exalts a Family
- Righteousness is choosing God's standard over cultural approval: righteous families lead with integrity, teach right and wrong clearly, and filter decisions through scripture.
- He reads it: righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people — and righteousness exalts not only nations but families, who stand out when they stand for morality in a culture of compromise.
- God's word is not up for discussion; it is forever settled, and the voices of culture — in public education and colleges — must not be louder than the voices in the home.
- We must protect the stand of biblical marriage (one man and one woman), sexual purity, the sanctity of life, and God-ordained roles in our lives and families.
- Joshua's stand was vocal — 'as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord' — and families should get vocal about what they believe and why, because pulpits and parents have been too silent while other outlets educated their children.
Scriptures: Proverbs 14:34
Holiness in the Home: Guard What Enters
- Holiness is not perfection; it is separation unto God, and in the home it means guarding what enters through screens and influences.
- It matters what you watch and listen to, who you open your spirit to, who your children's friends are, who they run with and spend the night with, and who they are connected to on social media and in chat rooms.
- The producers of ungodly entertainment know what they are doing — the beat, the click, the trigger — and a believer who can be entertained by what comes against the church needs an altar and the helmet back on.
- Guarding holiness creates space for prayer and worship: let your families see you pray and show them how to worship, so a child wants to pray and worship like their parent, rather than sitting unmoved with hands in pockets.
- Teach children conviction, not convenience — don't wait until they are teenagers to start practicing separation; he commends his wife's care in dressing their children so they walked the halls of school looking their best and knowing who they are: 'We're separate.'
Having Done All, Stand
- If we protect the stand of righteousness, morality, and holiness, we will value what is worth protecting; we will not raise holy families accidentally, but intentionally.
- The same God who gave the word to the church at Ephesus is still raising up families to stand — we stand when we're outnumbered, when we're pressured, and when it's time to protect the harvest.
- Sometimes standing feels monotonous, without goosebumps or feelings; he salutes the men and women who came to church when they didn't feel like it and lifted a weak voice — keep standing though your knees are weak and your body aches, because help is on the way.
- Sometimes you must stand still and see the salvation of the Lord; it is in protecting the stand, staying on the wall in your place, that God clarifies the vision and meets you in obedience.
- In the standing, God brings others alongside — a brother, a sister, a voice of encouragement — as when a young man messaged an invitation to meet at the church to pray and fellowship: that, he says, is just standing.
The Altar: Stand, Link Up, and Evaluate Your Armor
- He asks everyone to stand as a bold declaration — 'I am protecting the stand' — and invites families to the front to be honest with themselves and with God at this altar.
- He prays over the families: strengthen them to take up the whole armor of God; give courage to every man, woman, boy, and girl to stand in righteousness, morality, and holiness in this evil day; help them defend their homes, protect their harvest, and raise a generation that will not bend to cultural pressure.
- Standing works linked up: link up with a brother or sister, because when you get weak they will be there — you stand better together.
- He closes with a self-evaluation no one can do for you: which piece of the armor do you need to address, tighten up, or pick up — the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, or the sword of the Spirit?
- If we put the pieces on and in their proper place this week, he says, 'we'll have a church in 20 years.'
Scripture index: Ephesians 6:13-14; Judges 15; Daniel 3; Proverbs 14:34.
Are you ready to hear from the word of the Lord tonight? Who is this keyboard player we got up here? My Lord. I didn't know Eminem got the Holy Ghost, but I guess he did. I don't know. We're glad you're here. Ephesians 6:13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God. The whole ar Y'all laugh about that and pick on him. I like it. Looks good. I may go get mine done tomorrow. Everybody say, "No, don't do that." My wife will say it for you. I done got that done one time in my life. Wherefore take unto you, somebody say, "The whole armor of God." Whole armor. that you may be able to withstand in the evil day. And having done all to stand, the Bible would say, "Stand therefore in verse 14. I will give you the word that God has put in my spirit for 2026 and for this season as I will minister on this first family Wednesday night.
I want to preach to you for a little bit tonight on protecting the stand. Protecting the stand. I was talking uh to brother Sammy Cheryl this afternoon and was telling him what I was going to preach and as a good minister of the gospel does and I've done it many times. He always just kind of gives me a little nugget there uh that I had not considered. But the armor of God was never meant to be put on and to sit down. Right? It was never to put on and then sit down. You'll never find that in the word of God. But the armor of God was to be put on and to stand. You read the scripture, it starts with stand. It's going to end with stand. And tonight, I've come in the I've come in the Holy Ghost to help you as a man, a woman, a family, a young a young person.
hyphen. Wherever you are in life, I've come to help you protect the stand. If you're going to help me tonight, would you just lift your voice one more time in prayer and ask God to anoint your pastor? Father, right now in the name of Jesus, God, I come tonight in the Holy Ghost with a word and a burden upon my spirit. I thank you for what you are going to do. I thank you for what you have already done through the anointing of the singing tonight. Now pray your anointing upon me as your servant. It's in the name of Jesus we pray. And somebody say amen. Amen. You may be seated. I think we would be naive on this first family Wednesday if we did not recognize that there is a battle for the family.
Family is God's first institution. And because of that, it has always been the enemy's primary target. Paul writes in Ephesians chapter 6, not to the casual believer, but to the people living in the hostile environment, which I will call the evil day. The culture around us is shifting rapidly. Righteousness is being questioned. morality is being redefined and holiness is often ridiculed. YET GOD DOES not instruct families to retreat, blend in, or remain silent. His command is crystal clear. going back to when Paul challenged and wrote to the church at Ephesus. It is still crystal clear tonight in 2026. Uh and that command is stand. Somebody say stand. Ephesians 6:13. As I read it this morning, as I've been meditating it upon this this week, Ephesians 6:13 is not passive language.
It's not passive. It's a It's almost as though what I saw in the spirit a militant command. It's an assumption or a warning if you would. It assumes that we as believers are going to feel pressure. We're going to feel opposition. We're going to feel resistance. But after we have endured and after everything uh that the enemy of our soul can bring against us, uh we have A PROMISE THAT HAVING DONE ALL, I'M STILL STANDING. YES. AFTER I'VE WENT THROUGH ALL THAT I'VE WEATHERED, AFTER I I I went through and I I I I know what I felt in the Holy Ghost that I WOULD BE PREACHING TO FAMILIES TONIGHT THAT LEFT 2025 AND MARCHED INTO 2026 WITH THIS TESTIMONY, I'M STILL STANDING. The attacks have been real.
THE MENTAL BARGES UPON OUR SPIRITS AND OUR MINDS have been real. We're not here to minimize that. Uh but I wish on this first family Wednesday that THERE WOULD BE A BODY, A GROUP OF BELIEVERS, UH THAT WOULD in their spirit make a declaration, I'm still standing. I'm still here. I'M STILL IN THE CHURCH. I STILL GOT MY FAMILY. HALLELUJAH. I STILL GOT my sanity. are are I think I do. We got to recognize the reality of the battle. The Bible calls it an evil day. But he said in the evil day, we can still withstand it. Paul does not deny the reality of the evilness. Matter of fact, he prepares us for that evil day. And if I could speak to us as families tonight, it's time that we embrace this new year and this new season with a firm declaration that we fight a real battle.
It's not flesh and blood. It's not your wife and it's not your husband. It's not your children. It's not even your boss. I wish I had a little help right now. I've come to tell you, we're in a spiritual battle. And everyone under the sound of my voice, every family that I'm preaching to, you're fighting a real battle on multiple fronts. You're fighting cultural pressure to compromise. YOU'RE FIGHTING MORAL CONFUSION PASSED OFF AS TOLERANCE. YOU'RE FIGHTING constant media influence that's trying to shape our values. And I hope and pray if I ask you tonight how you doing on your social media fast, you can say, "Pastor, I'm doing good, but it's been tough. Attacks on biblical marriage, attacks on identity, attacks on authority.
This is not merely a social or political struggle, but hear me as your pastor, it is a spiritual battle. And the home is ground zero. Amen. The home is ground zero. And I'm the watchman on the wall tonight to inform you and to empower you under the uncction and the power of the Holy Ghost. Neutrality is not safety. Silence is not strength. If families do not intentionally stand, they will eventually slowly drift. It takes the whole armor of God. Partial protection is not enough. take unto you the whole armor of God, not just part of it. God does not offer partial protection for a fullscale war. He does not say just put on the helmet and leave every other part of your body exposed. No, he doesn't.
Many families want God's covering without God's commands. All right? The longer I do this, IT'S GOOD AS LONG AS PASTOR, YOU TELL me everything I want to hear. It's good. It's good. But when God commands something or or God demands something, I don't know if I can do that. But hear me tonight in the Holy Ghost. If you want victory in your family, you want victory in your life, you want victory in everything you do, it requires the whole armor of God. We cannot march through 2026 uh partially armed. We've got to get A FRESH REVELATION THAT WE MUST HAVE the belt of truth. on us. Why? Because that belt of truth is what's going to hold your family together. It's what's going to keep your family unit together.
The belt of truth, that breastplate of righteousness, is guarding us on how we live. Amen. That feet ANCHORED IN THE GOSPEL of peace uh gives you stability in trying and evil times that gospel of peaceuh is holding you steady. Amen. That shield of faith, that shield of faith is stopping and extinguishing every spirit of doubt, every spirit of fear, and every false lie that comes out of the pit of hell. You got to have that shield of faith. YOU GOT TO TAKE THAT HELMET OF salvation that would protect your mind. I'm talking about the whole armor of God. I'm I'm talking about what about the sword of the spirit, God's word spoken and lived out in our lives. What you Oh my God, help me tonight. What you don't put on is what you expose.
That's right. So, let me just tell you this. You don't put the belt of truth on. Let me tell you where the enemy is coming for your family. He's coming in with a spirit of division in your family. Don't put the breastplate of righteousness on. You'll be living. You'll be living a life you never dreamed you would be living. You'll be doing and going and being somebody I never thought I would be that. I never thought that would. You don't have the gospel of peace. You'll be you'll be so unstable, in and out, up and down, unpredictable, just like it just you can't describe it. that shield of faith enemy comes in at time you'll begin to doubt every word I'm preaching tonight you'll begin to believe the lie get fearful and and the Bible says we'll believe a lie be damned that shield of faith protects those fiery darts that come against that helmet of salvation enemy's been playing with your mind enemy's putting seed salts in your mind are you wearing your helmet do you got your helmet on what what seeds is he putting on you what what seeds has he put?
Where's that helmet of salvation? Don't you forget where God SAVED YOU FROM. DON'T YOU FORGET WHAT GOD redeemed you from. YOU NEED TO REMIND THE DEVIL, I'M PROTECTING MY MIND. I KNOW I'M SAVED. I'M SEALED WITH PROMISE. I'M SE I'VE COME TO LET THE DEVIL KNOW I'VE GOT THE BLOOD ON MY SIDE. YOU'RE NOT ATTACKING MY MIND. I'M NOT WHO I USED TO BE. I'VE GOT THE HELMET ON. I COME AGAINST THAT SPIRIT. That word of the spirit. That sword of the spirit. God's word spoken and lived. Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin. We don't have a sin problem. We got a word problem. Amen. Cuz if I get that word in me, That's right. It's going it's going to challenge and convict that flesh. And you'll start you you I can't do that.
That's the word. I can't I can't. Uh-uh. That's the word. That's part of the armor. When them old spirits come fighting you, take that word out, brother Weaver, and start GET THAT WORD OUT. UHUH. IT IS WRITTEN. WHEN JESUS WAS in the wilderness, HE DIDN'T JUST FIGHT HIM WITH. He fought he fought the enemy with the word. Could it be that's the missing piece of the armor? Could that be the missing element in your life? Get enough word in you. That when the devil comes knocking and he comes sniffing around you, uh, get thee behind me, say, I got a word for you. That's it. We have biblicals that I started thinking, Lord, I I want to help this great church tonight. And I end up, as always, my Lord, I'm preaching to myself tonight.
I got biblical examples of men who were who were models of courage. I started thinking, who were men who stood in times of adversity? And I'm sure you can add to this list. You can add to my sermon after I get done. But I started thinking about I I started thinking about Samson standing when he felt unnumbered when when when he felt like he was outnumbered. Judges 15 says Sam Samson stood surrounded by Philistines. No sword, no army, and no escape. But when the spirit of the Lord came upon him, he looked over there. I'm just glad God doesn't leave us helpless when we think he did. Well, my Lord, I believe I see my weapon of mass destruction. What are you talking about? Well, there's a jawbone of a donkey laying right there.
Yeah, it was the most unlikely weapon. But let me just tell you what the jawbone of a donkey did. It It defeated a thousand enemies that day. The most unlikely thing he could find. It wasn't a a a stick. It wasn't a tree. It wasn't It was the jawbone. Amen. And then I STARTED SAYING, GOD DOESN'T NEED OUR PERFECTION. GOD does not NEED PERFECT TOOLS TO FIGHT THIS SLOOFOOT DEVIL. BUT WHAT HE NEEDS IS A WILLING MAN OR a willing woman or a WILLING YOUNG PERSON THAT WILL JUST SAY, "I'LL USE WHATEVER I'VE GOT, GOD. IT DON'T HAVE TO BE PERFECT. IT MAY NOT IT MAY NOT EVEN MAKE SENSE. I WISH THE MEN AND THE WOMEN OF THE SEC WHO FEEL INADEQUATE, WHO FEEL OVERWHELMED, BUT KNOW THAT GOD CAN USE WHAT YOU'VE GOT IN YOUR WHAT DO YOU GOT IN YOUR HAND?
I DON'T HAVE MUCH, BUT I'VE GOT A JAWBONE. I DON'T HAVE MUCH, BUT I GOT A PRAISE IN MY HEART. I'VE COME TO TELL A MAN, I'VE COME TO TELL A HUSAND. stand anyway. GOD'S POWER WILL MEET you in obedience. I feel like I need to say that to God's power will will meet you in obedience. Where's God at? I'm going to tell you, he's going to meet you in obedience when you start stepping out in faith. Samson said, "Don't question what he's put in your hand. Use what he's got in your hand." Right. Right. I started thinking about three Hebrew boys standing when culture was demanding them to bow. Daniel 3 gives us the story. The music played. Everybody bowed except for Shadrach, Mach, and Abednego. Right? But hear me, their refusal to bow.
Yeah. place them in the fiery furnace and we think I feel like I'm going through that. I've stood and it feels like I'm in the fire. Let me let me let the three Hebrew boys be a testimony for you. When they got through in the fire, it also created a space and a place for God to be in the fire with them. They declared these words. Our God is able to deliver us. But if not, we ain't bowing to your false gods and your graven image. So what you saying, pastor? I'm saying standing may bring heat, but compromise will bring captivity. You just stand long enough, you're going to see God show up. You ste you stand LONG ENOUGH. THE HEAT MAY COME, BUT JUST LOOK AROUND. UH YOU WENT IN BOUND. UH YOU WENT IN IN THE MINORITY, BUT WHEN GOD SHOWS UP, UH HE SHOWS UP AND BRINGS A MAJORITY.
AND WHEN GOD'S THERE, YOU'RE GOING TO END UP loosed and walking walking in the fight. What was sent to consume was the very tool that God used to liberate. None of that would have happened if they would have bent and bowed. That's right. Stand. Stand. The challenge to every family tonight, you got to decide tonight before the pressure comes that you will not bow. That's right. You got to decide before the battle. You got to decide, I'm in this. This is what we doing. I'm living for God. I I I don't have a plan B. I I don't have an alternate. I don't have an escape route if this don't work. All right. I I don't have enough in me that that could offend me enough to get out of the church. Amen. Come on now.
I'm here to help. I I I don't have that option in me. I preached years ago removing the quit option. I don't have enough in me to say, you know what? I I don't know if I believe this anymore. Uh-uh. Come on. No. I made up my mind before the battles ever showed up. I made up my mind before the pressure ever started. I will not bend. I will not bow. Because when you stand against culture and you stand against family per se and you stand against the odd, let me just tell you, God's getting ready to show up on your behalf. Amen. I look at my third example tonight. Sha standing to protect the harvest. I feel this in the Holy Ghost so strong for our church. It was at harvest time the Philistines attacked the field.
Others fled, but Shamba stood in the middle of the field. That's right. Let me just tell you, he was all by himself. He didn't have a praise team. He didn't have a musician team. He just stood in the middle of the field and said, "If you're going to take this field, you taking me out with it." Yeah. But when one man made up his mind, I'm standing right in the right dab in the middle of this thing. The Bible says that because one man stood, one man protected his stand, the Lord wrought a great victory. Shyama gets credit for it. SHAMBA GETS PREACHED ABOUT. BUT IT WAS THE LORD IN HIS RESPONSE TO A man that said, "I'll stand when it doesn't make sense because I don't I I got too much energy in this field.
I got too much time and labor. I got too many seeds in this ground. I've watched it. I've weeded it. I've been here. I I' I've cared for it. And you think I'm going to leave this field right at harvest time. The devil is a lie. But I'm telling you what the Holy Ghost put in me in my office. What you refuse to defend, you will lose. That's right. But if I got a couple men in this room that'll stand and say, "You know what? I'm standing on my field. You ain't getting me out of my field." Because here's what's going to happen when you get a revelation of what your field is. Your marriage is your field. Your children are your harvest. Your home is your holy ground. DON'T YOU ABANDON THE FIELD JUST CUZ THE ENEMY SHOWS UP.
DON'T YOU DON'T YOU ABANDON THE FIELD CUZ YOU HAD A BAD DAY. DON'T YOU ABANDON THE FIELD BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T GET THE PROMOTION OR YOU DIDN'T THIS DIDN'T NO YOU DIDN'T GET THE I'M NOT ABANDONING THE FIELD. I SEE THE HARVEST THAT'S GROWING. I SEE THAT I SEE THE INCREASE. I SEE WHAT YOU'RE DOING. OH GOD, I'm going to stand right in the middle and fight for what God's given me. That's it. I got to stand and fight when it don't make sense. You mean you're going to put your I got too much in this field. You got too much in your marriage. You got too much in your children. Your home is worth fighting for. It's holy ground. I started processing this word. All I had was protect the stand. protect it. And then the Lord, begin to lead me.
If we would have families in this church that would understand this principle, righteousness is choosing God's standard over cultural approval. Because righteous families, hear me, lead with integrity. teach right and wrong clearly. Filter decisions through scripture. Proverbs 14 and34. I read it. I read it this afternoon. Proverbs 14:34. If you have that, you can put it up on the screen if I put it in my notes. I think I did. Proverbs 14 and 34. Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people. And I said, Lord, righteousness exalts not only nations but families. When you are a family of righteousness, God exalts you. When you're a a a family of righteousness, God's God's love and God's grace and mercy shines upon you.
You just stand out above the rest. When you stand for morality in a culture of compromise, I know morality is not it's no longer being taught. It's being debated. But God's word is not up for discussion. It's forever settled. and where we must we as families and I know it's 2026 and I've got I've got ears listening to me right now that are in public education they're in sec they're in colleges and they're hearing the redefining of culture but the voices there must not be louder than the voices in your home when they come in and they start asking you what is biblical marriage you better protect the stand. You better protect the stand that biblical marriage is one man and one woman. We better protect sexual purity.
WE BETTER PROTECT SANCTITY of life. WE BETTER PROTECT GOD ORDAINED ROLES UH IN OUR LIVES AND in our families. Joshua gave a command that day. It was a declaration. I preached from it last year. I felt like it was it was something that would come out of me in in several messages. But it it's come back aresh when Joshua had to take a stand and he said in front of in front of the multitude as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Amen. And here's what hit me in the Holy Ghost. Joshua was taking a stand, but he was vocal about it. He was vocal about it. You didn't have to wonder. You didn't have to question. He was vocal about it. I wish to God that some of you in this room would get vocal with a stand that you're taking in righteousness and morality because the more we're vocal, the more the cultural tide will begin to shift toward him.
You know why it's You know why it's like it is right now? Because pullpits have been too silent. You know my mas and daddies have been too silent. Uh we've let Hollywood dictate to us what we believe and what WE WE'VE LET HOLLYWOOD EDUCATE AND WE'VE LET THOSE OTHER OUTLETS UH GET STRONGER VOICES THAN US AS MOMS. AND I WOULD TONIGHT IN THIS HOUSEH THAT A DAD WOULD SAY, YOU KNOW WHAT, I'M ABOUT TO BE VOCAL ABOUT IT. THIS IS WHAT WE THIS IS WHY WE BELIEVE IT. THIS IS WHY WE STAND AND TAKE A STAND. OH, I'm trying to bring this down. I got donuts waiting on us. I've talked about righteousness. I'm bringing these three three points. Righteousness, morality, and holiness. Holiness is not perfection.
It's separation unto God. Holiness in the home means guarding what enters through screens and influences. That's why you hear me sound like a broker. And as I type these words, I felt like it my own self. That's why you hear me sound like a broke record at times. It matters what you watch. It matters what you listen to. It matters who you open your spirit to. It matters who your friends, your children's friends are. That's right. It matters who they run with and spend the night with. It matters who they who they're connected to on social media. It matters who's in their chat room. It matters who am I? Am I I'm still in an apostolic church, ain't I? I'm talking about holiness. We better guard ourselves.
We think it's innocent. It's just a little this or a little that. It matters. I I I don't want to introduce a spirit to my kids, my wife, or myself by what I was entertained by. If you can sit and watch a program that's got homosexuality in it and not be convicted, you need an altar. If you can be entertained by this junk uh that comes against what your pastor and what THIS CHURCH, WE BETTER FIND AN ALTAR AND SAY, "GOD, I NEED TO GET THE HELMET BACK ON. I NEED TO GET A RIGHTEOUS PRESS PLAY BACK HOME BECAUSE IF I'M NOT, I'M SETTING MYSELF UP for destruction. I'm setting myself up. Hallelujah. I don't want to introduce that from the lyrics of a song to a movie or a TV show. Don't you think one I'm telling you as I was as I was typing I'm like God I know that don't you think for one moment that producers of such things don't know what they're doing they know how they know how to get the beat.
They know how to get the click. They know how to get Oh yeah. Uhhuh. And then before long you're going down you're walking in Walmart. Where did that come from? Yes. Heard it one time and man, it it was like a trigger. You got to get a hold of this and it's got to get personal. You got to protect the stand of holiness. Because if you will, it will create a space in your life for prayer and worship. I'm telling you, the Holy Ghost has deposited it this into me for this service, for this night, to set this year in motion. Let our families see us pray. Show them how to worship. Don't let their role model in prayer and worship necessarily be somebody else. Why can't it be you? Why can't it be your child that looks at you, oh, I want to pray like my daddy.
I want to worship like daddy. But if I can sit through a worship service and I'm unmoved and with my hands in my pocket, pastor's preaching his guts out, and I you expect them to to to come to church with excitement in their spirits. It matters when we create a space for prayer and worship. It needs to be infused into those. You ought to have a pep talk with little with your little ONES THAT SAY, "WE'RE GOING TO CHURCH TODAY TO WORSHIP. WE'RE GOING TO CHURCH TO MAGNIFY GOD. LEAVE YOUR LITTLE BABY DOLL ON THE PEW BESIDE YOU. LEAVE YOUR LAPTOP IN YOUR COMPUTER HERE. PUT IT DOWN. BUT WE'RE HERE TO WORSHIP. WE'RE HERE TO WORSHIP. WE'VE GOT TO GET THIS. WE'VE GOT TO WE'VE GOT TO SAY, "GOD, I WANT TO CREATE A space for you.
If not, we're going to wake up in 20 years and our churches won't worship." Well, I'll give them till they're 12 and then I'll start teach. No, no, no, no. Did you know we had two people, two kids get the Holy Ghost in Rise Up Sunday? [applause and cheering] THE PICTURES I GOT WERE CHILDREN PRAYING AND TRAVAILING. Worshiping God in their own way. Bring that into here. You don't know what kind of spark it's going to be. You don't know what God's going to do through your mvery. I'm going to brag on you, baby. I watched you tonight out in that aisle. had that armor of going. You know where she learned that from? A mom and a daddy. You know where she a praise team that's up here singing her heart out THAT'S GETTING READY TO EXPLODE IN THIS CHURCH IN OUR LITTLE ONES.
UH THEY'RE GOING TO BRING IT FROM THERE AND THEY'RE GOING TO WALK IN AND WE'RE GOING TO WATCH THEM PROTECT THE STAND OF PRAYER AND WORSHIP. [applause and cheering] YES. YES. HALLELUJAH. Choose spiritual depth over convenience. What What's that mean, pastor? Teach children conviction, not convenience. We're going to do just enough to get by, pastor. We're going to do just enough. No, holiness doesn't negotiate with culture. No. No. You don't wait till they become a teenager and start practicing separation from the world. That breeds confusion. Well, they're not. Yeah. You're dressing them. You're buying the clothes. You make the choices. Nobody's making you do it. It's something I say, you know what?
And I give my wife so much props and credit. My wife, every time she would go, she said, "I want my babies when they go and walk the halls of that school, they look the best that we can make them look." And sometimes the outfits come from Goodwill. And ain't nothing wrong with it. This tie come from Goodwill. Does that make you feel better? Think I'm lying? Not. [panting] Whether it be that Old Navy, it doesn't matter. But when they walked in school, we did our best. Payton and Madison's not here to try our best. When they walked in schools, they they looked and felt proud about themselves. We wanted them to know this is who we are. We're separate. I've come on this first family and I'm coming to a quick close that if we can protect the stand if we can protect the stand of righteousness if we can protect the stand of morality and we can protect the stand of holiness I can tell you what will happen in our homes you'll value what's worth protecting we will not raise holy families accidentally.
We will do it intentionally. When we embrace this, we live we live in an evil day and we do not stick our head in the sand, but we are standing in an hour. It may be different than it was at the church of Ephesus. It may be removed 2,000 years, but the same God who gave the word to the man of God who he would write to the church at Ephesus was a word that's relevant no matter the dispensation, no matter the time. We live in an evil day. We still live in an evil day. But God is still raising up families as he did then. And he's still raising up families now as they are now to stand. We stand when we're outnumbered. We stand when we're pressured. We stand when it's time to protect the harvest. We stand.
And when you have prayed and when you have taught and when a spirit of endurance gets in you, having done all to stand. Just stand. Sometimes standing seems monotonous. Sometimes standing, you don't feel the Holy Ghost doodads. You don't feel them goosebumps running from the top of your head. You don't feel that most days. But I'm here to salute the standards tonight. The men and the women who came to church when you didn't feel like it. who lifted your voice when it was so weak from the battle. But you stood to attention as an armor in the army with the armor on. I'm weak, pastor. I got you. I got you back. I'm struggling, pastor. Your brother's got He's right beside you. Don't you fear. You just keep standing.
Oh, I feel like sitting. No. No. No. Uh-uh. Don't you sit down. You keep standing. My knees are weak. I understand. Keep standing. My body is aching. Keep standing. I don't know how much more I can take. Just keep standing. Help is on the way. Moses would hear the words, and I don't think it's ironic. Stand still. We like doing this and we call it standing and we are. But every once in a while you just got to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord in this season that we're in right now. Some of you are God, what are you doing right now? God, what are you doing in my f my finances? What are you doing in my family? What are you doing in my me? I feel this as strong as I've ever felt anything.
It's going to be when you protect the stand that God clarifies the vision. It's when you protect the stand and stay on the wall. Stand in your place. I've been standing a long time. I know you have. protect the stand because it's in the standing that God meets you in obedience. It's in the stand that God says, "I'm coming along beside you and I'm going to hook a brother up with you. I'm going to hook sisters. God's going to bring a sister alongside you. God's going to send a young person by your child and come on, you can do this." They're going to be the voice of reason. They're going to be the voice of encouragement. They're going to be the voice that bulks everything they're feeling or seeing in the natural.
and they're going to say, "Why don't you meet me at the church? I saw your I saw your message, Brother Wyatt. I was so proud of that message I saw. I don't know if anybody showed up, but I was so proud to see it. Would anybody like to meet me up at the church to pray and play some board games?" It did something to me that a young man would just want to come to church and pray and fellowship one with another. You know what I call that? Just standing. Just standing. When you don't know, you don't know the future and you don't know what God's going to do. Yeah. Just stand. It's in the standing vision is clarified. It's in the vision where God equips you for this next season. I would ask all of you right now to do what I have preached.
And I would ask that you stand. And when you stand, you're making a bold declaration. I am protecting the stand. And the next thing I want you to do is I want you to be honest with yourself and honest with God. And I want this altar to be an altar where I'm going to I'm going to pray. I'm going to say some words over you as your family stand. And God's going to give some of you courage that you have not felt yet. God's going to give you a determination that this is who I will be and become by the grace of God. If I have some men and I have some women and I have some families that would walk to this front right now, God's about to shower you with his presence and with his power. We're about to lean in right here, guys.
We're about to lean in here. Lean in here, church. Lean in here, families. Oh God, there is a worship that's going to come across you with your hands lifted. I'm looking at testimonies. I'm looking at men who have stood. You have beat You have beat the obstacles of life. You have won some victories, but there's battles yet to fight. You have conquered some strongholds. You have pulled down some mighty, mighty fortresses in your mind. But tonight, with your with your hands lifted, I'm going to pray what I feel led to pray over you. Lord, upon the authority of the word and in the name of Jesus, strengthen our families to take up the whole armor of God. Give courage to every man and every woman, every boy and every girl to stand in righteousness.
God, help us to stand in morality. Help us, oh God, to embrace holiness in this evil day. Help us, oh God, to defend our homes. Protect our harvest. Help us, oh God, raise a generation that will not bend to cultural pressure, but will stand in your truth. that will stand in this evil day in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. With your hands lifted. The battle's raging. But right now, I want you to ask God as you stand, clarify my vision. Oh God. clarify it. Let me see God, what's next for me. Let me see, oh God, what you have planned. Let me see, God, let me see into God, not my will, but thy will be done. Not my plan, but your plan. I see addictions being broken. You can't do it on yourself.
You can't do it by yourself. You can't do it being an island all alone. But I can tell you how you can do it standing. Standing. How you're going to stand is with the spirit of God on your side. How you're going to stand is saying, you know what? I'm sick of this. I'm standing. I'm standing on every promise. I'm standing on the word. I'm standing. And when you stand, God meets. We're getting ready to baptize this young lady in the name of Jesus. They're going to prepare her and get her ready. But right now, I want you to listen to the words of this song. And if it's permissible, I feel like this is a I'm not a military. Brother Joe, you got the proper word. Uh I don't know if this is a a squadron, whatever that word is.
I feel like we're a a body of believers. Why don't you link up with a brother? Why don't you link up with a sister? Link up with sister. Come on, brother. That's it. That's it. You stand better linked up with somebody cuz when you get weak, they're going to be there. Come on, you can make it. Come on. You can do it. I'm protecting you. Stand. That's it. All together. That's it. All together on a Wednesday. Here I am. STANDARD heard your prayer today. YEAH. You drive here to here. I'm going to make sure you say that you're my YOU all together. Here I am to worship. Heat. Heat. All together wonderful for me. I want you to do a self evaluation. Nobody can do this for you. Nobody can but you. I want you to do a fresh evaluation at this altar.
What is it in the armor of God that you need to address? What is it in the armor of God that you need to tighten up? You need to pick up. Is it the belt of truth? Is it the belt, the thing that holds your family together? Is it the breastplate of righteousness? Is it to look and evaluate how you can guard how you live? Is it the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation? Is it the sword of the spirit? Whatever it is, I want you to do an evaluation. I want you to begin to process. God, this week, this week, I'm going to I'm going to put the necessary pieces of this armor. I'm going to put them on and I'm going to put them in their proper place. Because if we do, hear me. You see this right here?
You see that right there? We'll have a church in 20 years.
