Summary

Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.

Pursuing Still More of God

  • He continues Sunday's 'God of More' message: God will not take from one person to give to another; each person must have a personal experience and pursue still more of God for himself.
  • A believer never graduates to a place of having arrived where he can say he no longer needs to pray, fast, or witness; there must always be a hunger inside for more of God.
  • The culture promotes comfort, ease, and predictability — like the church in Revelation that was rich, increased with goods, and had need of nothing — but God never designed His children to live in complacency, secure in the blessing while forgetting the Blesser, when one phone call, diagnosis, or accident can change everything.
  • Life's mission is to pursue God and obtain everything He has; he refuses to settle for less than all God intends, and if there is a promise in the book, it can be stood on and claimed every day.
  • Even in 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis and after 62 days out of the building — a season that should have driven people deeper into the Word — God wants to resurrect an 'I want more' spirit for a fast finish, because we have not seen our last baptism in Jesus' name, our last Holy Ghost, or our last prodigal come home.

The More We Have, the Less We Want It

  • It is human nature that the more we have of something, the less we need it or want it, and it does not take long to get complacent in the things of God.
  • We get used to the blessing: the house and the vehicle we prayed for, the job we knew was a miracle and the will of God when the door opened — with time and distance they become commonplace, as if they were not that big a miracle after all.
  • Even a healing can come to seem, six months or a year later, like it probably was not that big a deal; if we are not careful, we forget what God has done and become self-sufficient and self-reliant, forgetting that our need of God is the most supreme thing we will ever experience.
  • Life is full of contradictory sayings — the best things in life are free, but there is no such thing as a free lunch; absence makes the heart grow fonder, but out of sight is out of mind — but tonight he preaches the greatest contradiction of all.

Jesus Meets the Woman at the Well

  • He reads the exchange: Jesus tells the woman to call her husband; she says she has no husband; Jesus answers that she has spoken well — she has had five husbands, and the one she now has is not her husband — and she says, 'Sir, I perceive you to be a prophet.'
  • This is one of the most powerful encounters Jesus had in the Gospels: He did not send His disciples to tell her what she was doing wrong but sent them into town on an errand so He could speak with her privately, and He told her directly.
  • She had come to the well alone when the sun was high, hoping to encounter no one; drawing water had been a daily social time for the women of the house, but her reputation had become so tarnished that her welcome among them was no longer extended.
  • Jesus loves us unconditionally, but He loves us too much to leave us the way He finds us.

Scriptures: John 4:16-19; John 4:20-24; John 4:27; John 4:28

He Is Confrontational: He Confronts Our Sin Because He Loves Us

  • One of the main reasons we do not draw close to Him is that He will confront our sin; we are quick to call out someone else on social media while hiding our own faults away, hoping no one sees the private life behind the camera, the filter, and the witty caption.
  • Exposing someone else does not make you the better person; as we draw closer to God we see a magnified version of ourselves — 'it's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer' — so we should lend a hand and walk the road together instead of pointing a finger.
  • The greatest hitters in baseball succeed only three times out of ten, and a righteous man who falls seven times gets back up again; that is no license to sin, but God wants to remove the guilt and condemnation that make people disqualify themselves from even trying again instead of pursuing more of Him.
  • A godly confrontation is lovingly confronting someone's sin as a way to restore them into relationship and empower them to a specific mission — tell it to Paul the murderer, to Moses, to David; David sinned and could not build the house, yet instead of growing bitter he kept a right spirit and stockpiled the supplies his son would use to build it.
  • His confrontation reveals our brokenness to ourselves — beneath the clothes, vehicles, jobs, and portfolios we are still flawed and in need of a Savior, His mercy, and His grace.
  • When God confronts, He immediately calls us to change, with a vision for a fresh start; as long as you feel conviction, God is still working and you have not gone numb to the things of God.
  • He confronts and calls us from something in order to push us into something: He brought Israel out of Egypt into a land of houses they did not build and ground they only had to possess; if we get delivered out of something and stay stale and stagnant, we will go right back into it — which is why new converts, for whom the deliverance is still fresh, are the most excited people in the church.

He Is Transformational: Worship and the Holy Ghost

  • The God we serve is not only confrontational; He is transformational — when He confronts you, He will change you, which is why the worship team is not entertaining the congregation but entertaining the King of Kings, and why throughout Scripture bringing in the singers and musicians set the stage for transformation and for glory to fall.
  • The pattern runs through Scripture: Adam and Eve confronted in the garden and exposed, Jacob walking differently after his encounter, David sent a prophet more than once to get him back in line, and Saul blinded so all he could see was what God needed him to see in order to change.
  • At the well the talk turns to worship: the hour comes when true worshipers worship the Father neither on the mountain nor at Jerusalem but in spirit and in truth — and that, he says, is still the call to the modern apostolic church, for people of every background to come together and worship Him that way.
  • The individual who tastes this water is transformed: if you get the real Holy Ghost, you are going to speak in tongues; read it for yourself in Acts chapter 2 — and God did not turn off the water faucet in Acts chapter 28, because the gift of the Holy Ghost is still being poured out, for your children and their children and whosoever will.
  • Transformation begins and happens at salvation, and it happens again when a prodigal comes back and drinks from the well again: reconnected into fellowship, the imagination broadens and remembrance of what God did awakens, until a person can truly walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh.
  • You cannot be confronted by Him without being transformed; God is not transforming people on three dollars' worth of God, but the one who comes to the front tired of playing with sin and cries 'fill her up' will find that at repentance God recognizes it and transformation follows — He is still on the mercy seat, not the judgment seat, so come to the well and drink freely.

Scriptures: Acts 2; Acts 28

Confronted, Transformed, and Commissioned to Be Contagious

  • You cannot be confronted by Him without being commissioned for a testimony; God did not save you, deliver you from the muck and mire, and give you the spouse, job, house, vehicle, and family you have so you would keep your mouth closed and act as if you did it all on your own.
  • Testimony comes from an overflow: in the old testimony services people could not wait for the cue to thank the Lord for where He brought them from, and they could do it week in and week out because it was not pumped or primed — and worship, too, should come from the overflow of His blessing and mercy.
  • God is getting ready to expand our borders, our influence, and our thinking, because we think too small: His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways, and a God who fed 5,000 men with five loaves and two fishes can do more with your life, your testimony, and your recovery story than you imagined.
  • The disciples came upon the conversation and marveled that He talked with the woman, but it was in the very fabric and character of Jesus to fulfill what was written and expand beyond it; what God does in your life cannot be contained or kept to yourself, so do not be afraid of His transformation — say, 'Here am I, Lord; if You can use anything, use me.'
  • The woman left her waterpot, went into the city, and told the men, 'Come see a man which told me all things that I ever did'; many Samaritans believed because of her testimony, Jesus tarried there two days, and many more believed because of His own word — they came because of her, but they believed because of Him; your testimony gets them here, and then they hear the Word and feel what you are feeling.
  • This is the greatest contradiction of all: the closer you get to Him, the more contagious you become. Against the COVID mask meant to keep the mouth closed, he prophesies a spiritual unmasking — Spirit-filled believers opening their mouths until their literal shadow heals somebody and people receive the Holy Ghost even in the county jail; if one person with a virus can infect so many, what would happen if we became contagious with our testimony?

Answer the Word: God Said, Let There Be

  • Coming to church is not always pleasant, and sometimes the preaching is gut-wrenching because it makes us relive things — having to hear again about loving an enemy, forgiveness, bitterness, and offense — but in those moments God is sending a word to reveal: I loved you enough to confront you, and I love you even more to transform you; I will never leave you like I find you.
  • He opens the altar and calls everyone to come, pray, and open their mouths, declaring: I am going to use the testimony and the experiences God has put inside of me; I am not my own, I have been bought with a price, purchased with His blood and redeemed for His purpose — and as they open their mouths, a realm of influence and a harvest all around them begins to operate.
  • Inside all of us there is a woman at the well tonight — an experience from the past we want to keep hidden, timing our arrival so nobody will say anything — but Christ Jesus has walked into this house, and if we will be transparent and allow God to expose and confront the issues, He will bring true transformation.
  • He stirs for a multicultural revival — every nation and tongue represented in the church — naming family after family God has brought here from far away not by accident; God did not align the pieces of life's great puzzle by accident but has every piece in order, even grandparents dropping children off who just want to come to church.
  • Even in what appears to be chaos and disaster, he is reminded that in Genesis chapter 1 and Genesis chapter 2 this whole world was dark and full of void, but it was not many verses before the Spirit moved and God said, 'Let there be,' and things started happening; do not let the darkness fool you or the chaos discourage you, but keep your ears tuned for the still small voice — God is getting ready to do supernatural things in your homes and lives because He is a God of more.
  • He closes in prayer, asking God to seal the word in hearts and spirits with expectation, believing God can give things they did not build and cause them to plant in the morning and reap in the evening, quicker than nature says.

i am glad that we serve a god of more and my challenge to us all tonight we must be pursuing still more of god i preached it on sunday the god of more but i believe it falls into our hands and into our lap we don't serve a a socialist god i'm not going to just say we don't serve a socialist god he's not going to take from me and give to you it's time for us to have a personal experience for ourself a god of more wants us to want him and aspire to be more like him and want more that he has for us how many of you want more of god hallelujah somebody say that with me more we will never see the great things god has for us if we do not seek and long for more of him i i said this sunday and i'll say it again we never graduate to a place where we ever ever graduate to a place that we've arrived to the point that we can say i don't need any more of god i don't need to pray today i don't need to fast you know i don't need to witness we will never graduate as a person as a christian there needs to be a hunger inside of you what was good sunday we rejoice but you know what god steal god on a wednesday night and he wants to do more for us tonight than he did on last sunday or last wednesday make no mistake about it our human nature and certainly the culture that we are experiencing right now we are living in a society that is promoting the comfort ease and predictability of this thing we call life matter of fact if we look at the book of revelation that one of the one of the churches in the book of revelation it would say they they had they were rich and increased with goods and had need of what nothing god helped the modern apostolic church to never get to a mindset where we've got all of the god's blessed us abundantly yes but we should never get satisfied to the point that we're secure in the blessing and we forget the blesser because it at one movement of god's finger everything can change one day you know we can go to bed tonight and we we can feel secure and we can feel like man everything's going smooth but you could wake up in one phone call one diagnosis one x-ray one accident can change your whole world so my point is this even though that god has blessed us god has never designed us as children to live in a state of complacency god does not want his church to get complacent we arrive we're here god's blessed us with this building god's blessed us we worked and worked and worked and worked and worked to get here then we're just going take our ease in zion get complacent with the blessings of god whether you you know it doesn't matter what stage of life that you are in here is if i could simplify our mission our life's mission is to pursue god and obtain everything he has for you pursue god and obtain everything somebody say everything he has for you i made this commitment a long time ago and has become a personal uh a personal i guess a mission statement i refuse to settle for less than all of what god intends for me i just believe that there must be a spirit that rises up in every one of us that i refuse to settle for less than what god has prepared for me because if there's a promise in the book it's mine if there's a promise that's in this book you better believe that we can stand on the promises of god and claim those promises each and every single day god if you look through scripture god was always pushing his people both in the old and the new testament to pursue more of his blessings more of his power it was the desire of the almighty god then and i believe even now in 2020 even in the midst of a covet 19 crisis he wants us as children of the most high to be on a quest for more of god can we as a people and only you can answer these questions can we say that through this year and i know it's been a trying year it's been a testing year but has our quest for more been tempered a little bit has our test has our quest for more been just a little jaded i know we went through two hard months of separation from the house of god where we for 62 days we were not in this building but my prayer is that somewhere in that you grew spiritually what i can grow yes you you have the you have the opportunity to grow because in that season it should have caused you to get in the word more than you've ever got in the word it should have caused you to dial into your spiritual walk with god and not get distracted because a spirit and a quest for more come upon you and i know we can't all say that i know some of us had good days and bad days i'll raise my hand and say there was some good days and some bad days but as i'm entering into this last quarter and we've entered into this last quarter i believe as we get ready for a fast finish that god can resurrect in us a spirit and an attitude that i want more i want more of god i'm not satisfied with where i'm at i refuse to get complacent with where i'm at we've not seen our last one be baptized in jesus name we've not seen our last one receive the gift of the holy ghost we've not seen our last prodigal come walking back into the house of the lord why because we are in a quest for more oh hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah i want to continue in the vein in which i begin sunday i want to dig a little deeper there's another aspect to more that you and i may have never experienced before and when i say this first line when i say this is going to immediately cause never thought of it that way but it's human nature that the more we have of something the less we need of it or want it it is human nature the more we have of something the less we need of it or want of it i'll let you put your own example in there but i can tell you it doesn't take long for us to get complacent in the things of god we get used to things we get used to it being there we get used to the blessing we get used to the house we live in the very house we prayed for we get used to the vehicle we're driving the very vehicle we we we prayed for we get used to the job that we we knew it was a miracle when we got it we knew it was the will of god when that door opened but the longer you work there the distance you put between the miracle and where you are living and where you're remembering right now it can very easily become just commonplace you know what making a good living but you know what probably wasn't that big a miracle after all you ever god heals your body of a of a disease and you get six months or a year from that miracle it's easy to just think you know what it probably wasn't that big a deal after all if we're not careful if we're not careful we forget where god and what god's done for us and we become self-sufficient and self-reliant and we forget our need of god is the most supreme thing that you and i will ever experience it's one of life's greatest contradictions listen to these popular sayings that stand in direct contradiction to one another for instance the best things in life are free but there's no such thing as a free lunch birds of a feather flop together but opposites attract silence is golden but the squeaky wheel gets the grease makes the heart grow fonder but out of sight out of mind look before you leap but strike while the iron is hot contradictions the world that we live in is full of contradictions but tonight i want to preach to you i feel a preach upon me this evening about the greatest contradiction of all we read it in john chapter 4 16-19 we find a familiar portion of scripture that when i begin to read you will find you will find a a a remembrance i'm sure that will come upon you we walk into the lady which we just call her the lady at the well jesus walks into her life and jesus says to her in verse 16 go call your husband and come here and the woman answered and said i have no husband and the woman or jesus said to her you have said well i have no husband for you have had five husbands and the one whom you you now have is not your husband in that you spoke truly the woman said to him sir i perceive you to be a prophet this is one of the most powerful stories and encounters jesus ever had in the gospels he came right out and told what she was doing wrong notice he did not send his disciples to tell her in fact he sent his disciples to town basically on an errand so he could speak with this woman privately i'm sure the woman had come to the well at a time when she knew no one else would be there she knew her own reputation was not the one that people of the village wanted to associate with and in those days going to the well for water was a social time for the woman of the house this is where they met up each day to catch up on each other's lives and i feel in times past she had tried to join in on this early morning ritual with all the other ladies with all the other people from the community and at one time i'm sure she had most likely been welcomed as one of the group but this time but with time her reputation had become so tarnished her welcome was no longer extended so today she comes along when the sun was high the weight of the watering pot becoming heavier with each step and the sweltering heat she was hoping she would not encounter anyone so here she is alone at the well and suddenly a man appears to her while jesus loves us unconditionally i have found by experience he loves us too much to leave us the way he finds us aren't you glad that jesus never leaves you the way that he finds you tonight we need to realize that one of the main reasons we don't draw close to him hear me and i know this is going to come across real brass and and real it may even cut to the bone but let me let me help you i have found this through time and through experience through personal personal walks with god through the last 46 years of my life through pastoring through evangelizing i can honestly tell you that tonight i realize more than ever that one of the main reasons we don't draw close to him is he will confront our sin i have experienced and i've seen it the main reason many don't draw close to him he will confront us not only our sin but he will confront us in our sin we as humans are quick to judge we say we aren't judgmental yet we have no problem calling out someone on social media for something we don't approve of however when it comes to our own faults we try to hide them away hoping no one will ever see the struggle of our own private life the lives we live behind the camera without the filter or the witty caption we do not like to see ourselves in the seat of struggle so we look for any little thing in someone else's life that may not be exactly on the straightened era and we bring as many as much focus as we can to them in hopes that in this seeming deflection no one will examine where we are in our relationship with god or the things we struggle with in our own lives can i just can i i want to help somebody and many of you know this you know my style of pastoring and you've been with me through the years but i think this one little statement will help you exposing someone else does not make you the better person as we draw closer to god we begin to see a magnified version of ourselves and it can sometimes scare us to death because here's the truth we say we want more brother paul but the closer we get to more of him the more is revealed in our own lives that we stand consistently it's me o lord standing in the need of prayer it's not my brother nor my sister but it's me oh lord standing in the need of prayer now by nature well bless god did you see sister so-and-so or brother so and so and all the time i hadn't prayed i hadn't read my bible i hadn't witnessed like but it's so if we're not careful and we're not prayerful and we're not remembering where god brought us from oh help me right now it's easy to point a finger instead of lending a hand you've heard me use that illustration before and i just it's not in my nose but it's easy to do this but why not do this why not let me help you up why don't we walk this road together why don't we do this thing why don't we live for god why don't let me be your biggest cheerleader your biggest fan instead of i can't believe you did that i can't believe you god help us to understand we're in this thing together there's no big eyes little use when we draw closer to god all of us our christ should be more and in that more the magnifying glass reveals the true version of ourselves and how much we all need the lord we don't want the things we do when no one else is looking brought to the light we don't want the anger we feels towards someone a friend a colleague a parent or spouse put on display we don't want to have to examine our motives behind our giving we don't want to be shown our own shortcomings we just want to see the highlight reel let the world only see the good i know i'm probably not preaching to anybody in this room probably am did you know the greatest hitters in baseball the greatest hitters in baseball are gonna only hit three out of ten you're a great if you bat 300 you make the hall of fame if you hit 300 in a career that means seven times you can strike out fly out ground out leave runners in scoring position and never bring them across in some of the most key critical times of the game but i read in the word of god that if a righteous man falls down seven times it gets back up again i said he gets back up again a righteous man falls seven times and gets back up if that's an analogy to us if that's any help or hope to us it's not a license to sin hear me and hear me well it's not a license to sin or a permission to you know do things that are contrary to the word of god no but i do think that god's wanting to empower us and and to to remove from us some guilt and condemnation that we've lived with for years and we disqualify ourselves from even attempting again we we disqualify ourselves from even trying again because we failed so many times but you got back up well i didn't say the right thing i didn't do the right thing i should have done more and the old enemy will come in and and try our best to discourage us and disqualify us when the heartbeat of god is pursue me pursue me for more i've got more for you don't disqualify yourself too quick when you've got a god that's waiting and willing to give you what he has already designed for you don't quit pursuing more of god i know this may seem contradictory to you but the truth is if we are ever going to have more of him we've got to recognize this he is confrontational well i i don't know that god's confrontational yes he is god's going to confront the sin in your life why because he loves you god's going to confront the unrighteousness the unholiness in you because he loves you and and i know we've those of you that have kids have you ever whipped your child before well i know that's a man that's almost a word you never hear anymore have you ever put your kid in time out i know that's probably the generation i'm preaching to uh i'm gonna put you in time out and this this hurts me worse than it does you i remember having to go out and pick my own switch anybody ever had to pick your own switch and come in with a little twig and my mama and daddy they made fun uh-uh you go out and get one off of that tree you bring that back in here get that belt and wear it taught me a lot of lessons but you know what they confronted me in my disobedience and i would hear words now you know this is gonna hurt me then more than it hurts you and i'm sitting there thinking really give me the switch give me the belt we'll try this out a godly confrontation is lovingly confronting someone's sin as a way hear me this this is revel this is revelatory if you'll get this a godly confrontation is lovingly confronting sin as a way to restore them into relationship and empower them to a specific mission that's not judgment and and i know probably you've had this i just can't believe you did that you're never gonna amount to nothing you're a failure i hope and pray to god nobody has ever said that to you i'm sorry in advance but our job has got to be a godly confrontation against sin hear me in a way to restore you restore you to relationship to fulfill a specific mission because you messed up you're disqualified you'll never be used by god tell that to paul he was a murderer tell that to moses tell that to david tell that to greats of the bible that god put his finger on and said i'm going to use you in spite of i'm not going to condone what you've done i'm not saying you were right but you know what you can rise above your failure as you confront your own sin and bring yourself back into relationship with me for a specific mission what i love about david brother brother chris yes he sinned yes he had uriah killed yes god told him i'm sorry you can't build my house but let me tell you david's attitude i may not can build it but i ain't going to stop building the reservoir of supplies that my boy is going to use to build it his attitude could my bless god i ain't giving another dime to this i ain't going to support it no there was a penalty there was a price tag that david had to pay but his spirit was right and said i may not can build it but i'm going to help build it in the way that i can i'm going to keep my spirit and you know what david confronted his sin nathan said you're the man his spirit got right his spirit got aligned and said you know what i'm gonna help my boy and build the house that i dreamed to build and i can't do everything i wanted to do but if i can get my what's more important doing what you want to do or getting your relationship back with god and making heaven your home i know too many people because they can't do this or can't do that that they get bitter against god when god's saying if you'll just get your spirit right back in relationship with me what you do do is gonna make a bigger impact than what you could have done yeah hallelujah number two he will confront your sin in such a way that will reveal your brokenness to yourself hear me he's con confrontational he will confront your sin in such a way that will reveal your brokenness see too many times we got ties we got shirts man we got we got sneakers on we we drive big good vehicles we got good jobs what you look at the portfolio of our life we're doing better than most of the whole world but we're still broken we're still flawed we're still in need of a savior we're still in need of his mercy we're still in need of his grace when god confronts you is to reveal your broken humanity in need of a god loves unconditionally number three he's confrontational this is powerful he will immediately call you to change with a vision for a fresh start i don't know who i'm preaching to but i'm going to tell you when god confronts you when god deals with you it's always for a purpose if god's confronting something in you if god's trying to convict you an old word that i try to revive and use because i don't ever want you to i don't ever want you to forget the word conviction as long as you feel conviction god's working in your life you've not got numb to the things of god you've not got numb to to the word of god there's something convict i know i'll not do that when god confronts he immediately calls you to change change the vision change how you see yourself because there's a fresh start awaiting you a fresh start i feel like telling somebody in the holy ghost there's a fresh start waiting you brother august there's a fresh start and the enemy has tried his best i'll tell you to try to resurrect old things in your but god said i've got a fresh start for you i've got a fresh start for you number four he's he's confrontational he confronts or calls you from something and pushes you to something if god's ever delivered you from something it was because he was trying to deliver you into something god always pushes us two more they brought him out of egypt he brought the children out of egypt into a land flowing with milk and hunt more wherever you walk wherever your feet touches yours wherever you go the houses you didn't build lands you didn't everything that you see it's yours go occupy it was more than their mind could comprehend it was all theirs they just had to go possess it they just had to show up that's all they had to do just show up on the scene hey get out of my house you don't want to get out of my house you're dead kill them this is my house this is my land they get to walled cities and they march around seven days and walls fall down that's the kind of god they served that's the kind of leader joshua was in the pursuit of the promised land we better not ever forget that when god delivers us out of something we better not get delivered out of and stay stale and stagnant because if you're not careful you're going to go right back into what god delivered you from you got to get active you got to get busy he brought you out of something to deliver you into something you wonder why new converts are the most excited people in the church it's still fresh in their mind where i just got delivered from it's just fresh in their mind what he just set me free from i can't i'll never get over it i'll never lose my worship i'll never lose my praise yes he delivered me off of drugs yes he delivered me off of alcohol yes he delivered me he put my home back together he gave me a fresh start he brought me out to bring me in and i'll live the rest of my life thankful hallelujah somebody shout yes hallelujah the second element the second element of this great contradiction is he confronts you only to transform you the god we serve is transformational he's not only confrontational he is transformational when god confronts you he will change you that's why it's so important to create an atmosphere of worship that's why this praise team that's why this this this whole team up here that leads us in worship they're not up here entertaining us if it's a concert to you you've got the wrong perception of what's going on up here what they're what we're doing is entertaining the king of kings and the lord of lords we're giving him the worship and praise he deserves you go through and look throughout the all of scripture where there would be men of god prophets of god bring me a minstrel bring me somebody to play bring me bring the singers and the musicians out here it always set the stage for transformation it always set the stage for glory to fall it was it's something miraculous when god confronts us his desire is to change us how many times in scripture do we see this adam and eve began this cycle when he confronted them in the garden and exposes their nakedness when jacob it was a physical transformation he walked differently after his encounter with david he sent a prophet more than once to get him back in line with saul he was blinded so all he could see was what god needed him to see in order to change then we come to the lady at the well verse number 20. our fathers worshiped in this mountain and he say that in jerusalem and in jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship jesus saith unto her woman believe me the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain or yet at jerusalem worship the father he worship he know not what we know what we worship somebody ought to get that in the holy ghost right now we know what we worship for salvation is of the jews but the hour cometh and somebody shouted now is when the true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seek as such to worship him for god is a spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth i believe that is still the call to the modern apostolic church that we must rise to the occasion and understand that there is a desire from heaven there is a transformation that's waiting the church when we worship him jew greek gentile red yellow black white we can come together and worship him in spirit and in truth there's got to be that in our church there's got to be that he transforms us how's he transforming he transforms the individual that taste of this water for the first time when you get the baptism of the holy ghost there's going to be a transformation if you get what my daddy says and i believe it the longer i live if you get the real holy ghost yes if you get the real holy ghost brother paul you going to talk in tongues i said you're going to speak in tongues as the holy ghost came you're going to speak in another language that's that's the bible you go read it for yourself acts chapter 2 and i said it's sunday god didn't turn off the water faucet in acts chapter 28 and say you know what the gift of the holy ghost is no longer poured out it's still being poured out because our god is a transformational god it's for your children and their children too it's for whosoever will let them come and drink of the water freely transformation begins and happens at salvation let me help somebody secondly he transforms and broadens the imagination of the followers that have already tasted of him what's that mean like we have sheep have gone astray like we many in this room many watching online you become a prodigal when you come back and you drink from that well when you drink from that well again you come back into relationship things begin to awaken in your mind transformation of your mind in your spirit the the imagination broadens the mind begins to open up that you know what this is the best life i can live yes this is the right way there's no other way given among me and whereby i must be saved and what happens when you're reconnected when you are brought back into fellowship there is i believe another transformation a transformation of remembrance of what god did the first time and what god did this time and with those two transformations colliding i believe there is something if i could use the word cataclysmic there's an explosion if you will allow the spirit to work that you can truly walk after the spirit and not after the flesh i believe that type of transformation can happen if we allow god to work in our lives hallelujah hallelujah number one you cannot be confronted by him without being transformed well i just want three dollars worth of god no god ain't transforming people on three dollars worth of god it's his nature to fill you with the holy ghost they were all filled with the holy ghost we lower our level of expectation down to just three dollars worth of god that's all you're gonna get but there won't be no transformation but i can promise you you walk to this front you lift your hands up and lift your voice to the lord god almighty and say god fill her up fill her up god i'm tired of playing i'm tired of playing with sin i'm tired of playing with unrighteousness i'm tired of continuously living a sinful i can promise you at repentance god sees that god recognizes that and transformation follows it's his nature to transform you well i thought it was his nature to judge me i thought it was his nature to condemn me no sir no ma'am he's still on the mercy seat and as long as he's still on the mercy seat and not on the judgment seat come one come on come to the altar come to the place of mercy come to the place of come to the well and drink freely it's his nature to transform you you mean me you me you don't know you don't know you just don't know he does i said he does where's your husband i don't know i don't know you said right he ain't your husband and you've been married five times but you know what i see purpose in you i see hurt in you i see pain in your life i didn't come to condemn you i come to transform you see i i just feel like there's a world crying right now i don't ever want anybody to be too scared to walk into those doors because they're going to be faced with judgment judgment and not transformational power of god that is awaiting them hallelujah i i i feel like god's gonna lord hammer 747 i'm trying this is a 747 i'm trying to get it up off the ground and trying to land it about right now but hear me you cannot be confronted by him without being commissioned for a testimony you cannot be confronted by him without being commissioned for a testimony do you think god saved you to keep your mouth closed do you think god delivered you and brought you out of the muck and the mire of sin gave you the spouse that you've got gave you the job that you've got gave you the house the vehicle the family you've got for us to do this ain't no big deal i did this all on my own you're a fool you know what happens when god confronts you and god puts purpose in you your testimony comes from an overflow that testimony comes out of you as an overflow you begin to say let me tell you what the lord has done for me let me tell you i once was blood but now i see yes i was an addict yes i was bound yes i was lost but now i'm found it's an overflow it's an overflow that comes out of you i wish there would be a baptism of convincing right now that i'm convinced if i tell my testimony nobody will look down on me i think some of us are too intimidated by hell and these angels because we're scared what if they look down on me because of my testimony you come talk to me you come tell me if somebody come judges you because of where you've been you come talk to me and tell me i'll go confront him it won't be quite as nice as what the lord's done doing because i believe in the spirit of restoration i believe in the ministry of reconciliation and restoration back into the household of faith i believe there's something arising in the body of christ right now there's a resurrection of an old-fashioned testimony we used to have testimony service how many remember testimony service i remember it never failed there was a few that just waited for the cue go ahead sister so and so and before they could get out of their seat i just want to thank the lord for what he brought me from i want to thank the lord for where he found me i thank the lord for what he's doing in my life right now because i'm not who i used to be you know why they could do that week in and week out it was coming from an overflow you didn't have to pump that you didn't have to prime that pump they didn't just get that way before because they got to church but when i think of the goodness of jesus and all that he's done i feel a shout i feel a dancing i feel the holy ghost when i think of the goodness of jesus and all that he's done it comes from an overflow what would happen if our worship comes from an overflow your worship comes from an overflow it's an overflow of his blessing it's the overflow of his mercy it's the overflow my god i feel the holy ghost in this house i feel like telling somebody the devil should have took you out before colvin came because colvin could take us out colvin's only got us ready for the greatest outpouring of the holy ghost you should have took me out devil before i come to church on a wednesday night he's still confronting us to commission us with a testimony because he's got something in you that's got to get out he's got something in you that's got to get out where's god brought you from what's god delivered you from it's got to come out of the overflow we let the devil muzzle and cause us to keep our mouth closed some of you have fought temptations from hell this week and you fought them and you made it but you slid in here on a wednesday night and you said god i don't even know how i'm gonna hold my head up the thoughts just went through my mind this week the battles that i fought this week i don't even know how i'm going to lift my head let me tell you you need to tell the devil right in his face i made it i made it i made it to church i made it out of the hospital i made it when others may have said i couldn't make it hallelujah yes let me tell you what god's getting ready to do in this church he's transforming you he's transforming you he's transforming you because he's getting ready to expand your border i'm telling you what i feel in the holy god's trying to get us ready brother we've he's trying to expand our borders some of you are about to look around in the next two and a half months some of you are going to be surprised at what he's doing you're going to say i thought it was going to happen but i didn't know it was going to be that big i thought it was going to happen but i didn't realize it was going to be that big i heard pastor say it but i didn't know it was going to be like that we serve a god that goes beyond our imaginations why because he's a god of more his thoughts are not our thoughts his ways are not our ways god's getting ready to expand our borders he's getting ready to expand your influence he's getting ready to expand your thinking we're thinking too small we're thinking too little we're thinking too narrow if he can feed 5 000 men with five loaves and two fishes what can he do with your life what can he do with your testimony what can he do with your recovery story what can he do get your third win you may be seated i'm trying to get done this kind of gonna be two for one we got picnics sunday we all gonna get it all right here both barrels those of you that missed it tonight you missed it verse 27 and and upon this came his disciples he they're coming up on the conversation they're coming upon the confrontation they're coming upon the transformation and then and upon him came his disciples and marveled why are you talking to that woman yet no man said what seeketh thou or why talk is thou with her they marveled and he talked with her i'm sure they walked with her and probably thought what in the world is he talking to her you've got to understand it was in the very fabric in the dna of jesus christ the god man it was in his character to go outside of what the law he said i've not come to do away i've come to fulfill it all they were understanding not really even understanding all they were seeing what was written they wasn't seeing what was unwritten he come to fulfill but also expand into another dispensation of time because just mere words written in a torah could not contain the power that was trying to operate then you can't contain what god's getting ready to do you can't keep it to yourself when god does it in your life it is his desire that you and i will be transformed after we are confronted by him we don't need to be afraid of it or fight it you just need to say here am i lord if you can use anything use me if there could just be more of us that would just let him transform us by his spirit here's what i pray it doesn't happen all over this building if we could let the spirit transform us this is what's going to happen it's the greatest contradiction of all and it'll make sense the closer you get to him the more contagious you become this is the way a lot of us are in the spirit realm i can't tell nobody my testimony i i can't share what god's done in my life so i'm gonna put a mask over it i'm gonna put a cloth over it i'm just gonna keep my mouth closed and if i do that i won't become contagious i know we're in the middle of covet 19 and we're dealing with a very deadly virus and i'm not minimizing that but the purpose of the mask is to try to keep our mouth closed to keep the the particles of spit and saliva coming out and transferring into another human being and contaminating them if we are contaminated by the virus but in the holy ghost there is an unmasking that's about to take place there's an unmasking that's about to take place and some of you are about to get your spiritual mask off and you're about to open up and you're you're about to open up your mouth and you're about to be the most contagious believer spirit field that this world has ever seen when you open up in your mouth there's going to be a contagion there's going to be contagious power that goes out of you we're going to become the most contagious movement that's ever walked planet earth we become contagious we become the church we become mobilized we become contagious and when we walk our literal shadow sister smith heals somebody we literally walk in prisons and literally people receive the holy ghost and they walk out what would happen if morgan county jail right tonight had one spirit-filled believer or two start praying and the jail have an old-fashioned jailhouse rock and the doors swing open do you know the reason why it happened is because two men become two men become contagious if one person with the coronavirus can infect how many people i don't know a bunch you can be exposed by a cell phone you can be exposed by the door handles you can be exposed you do you say whatever i ain't going down that rabbit trail but you can be exposed in so many different avenues of life to a deadly virus but what would happen if we become contagious with our testimony let me read this stay standing 747 coming to a land verse 28 the woman then left her water pot went her way into the city and said to the men i can't keep it to myself i got my mask off i got my mask off brother roy i know my wife's head covered i know it's been a long coveted season but i prophesy if you'll begin to open up your mouth throw your spiritual mass down and begin to open up your mouth i believe there's a harvest all around you that are waiting and gonna follow you into the house of the lord come see a man which told me all things that i ever did is not this the christ then went out of the city and came unto him and many of the samaritans of that city believed on him for the saying of the woman which test which testified he told me all that i ever did so when the samaritans were come unto him they besought him that he would tarry with them and he'll bow there to there was such a revival there was such a revival in the city that jesus couldn't leave the city for two whole days and many more believe jesus because of his own word listen to this they believed jesus because of her testimony and then they believed him because of his testimony or his words what's going to happen when people come in they're coming because of your testimony but there will be more believe because of your testimony if mine don't get them yours will yes i said if mine don't get them brother auguste yours will that's the power of the apostolic church the power to open up your mouth and let your word and my words become contagious verse and said unto the woman now we believe i wish that could be a cry tonight now we believe not because of thy saying for we have heard him ourselves and know that this is indeed the christ the savior of the world it grew to a point that they came because of her but they believed because of him that's the pi that's the great contradiction when we begin to open up our mouth we think they're coming because my little testimony got them in they're going to believe because of what they feel in this house the transformation that meets them at this house your testimony gets them here but then they hear the word they hear the truth they feel the presence and power of god in fellowship they ain't never felt what they're going to feel when they come here they're never feeling well they're looking for what we're experiencing right now they're riding up and down roads right now i wish i could feel what the i wish i could i wish i could get off of these drugs i wish i could get over this i wish me and my husband could get along i wish that i wish i wish and here we are doing our little pentecostal routines god's asking us as a church open up your mouth and become contagious with what he's done for you what is so incredible about this story is that when jesus looked at her and spoke all the things she tried to keep hidden when he opened all the wounds and displayed all the hurts that's when she realized the change he could bring about in her life the peace he could bring the healing and that's when she wanted to tell everybody about him sometimes coming to church isn't always pleasant sometimes through me and the preaching of the word and through ever a guess may be what you hear sometimes is it's almost gut-wrenching oh i'm having to relive but it's in those moments that god is sending a word to reveal to you i love you enough to confront but i love you even more to transform i will never leave you like i find you the confrontation it's oh god do i really do i really have to hear pastor talk about loving my enemy do i really have to hear another sermon on forgiveness and bitterness and offense and hatred and i could go on but it's in those words and it's in those messages that god's sending just a little nudge i love you i love you i have purpose for you i've got a plan for you i want to expand you but you're looking at your life with the wrong perception i loved you enough to confront you to transform i know you may have to mask up for just a moment there's no way i can end this service without offering you a place to come pray i just feel like there needs to be a solemn you don't have to it's up to you put a mask on walk to this front i just feel like there needs to be a response to the word i can't send you home and there not be something that can be lifted i want you to begin to pray and open up your mouth if you'll do this open up your mouth right now open up your mouth and begin to declare god i'm going to use what you have put inside of me i'm going to use the testimony i have i'm going to use lord the experiences of my life i am not my own i've been bought with a price says the lord i have purchased you with my own blood i have redeemed you for my purpose now allow yourself by my spirit to become a contagious individual a contagious person that when you open up your mouth the realm of influence will begin to operate that's it sister marie there's a realm of influence about to come upon you as you begin to open up your mouth and the spirit of the lord is gonna speak through you there are people there's harvest around you yes yes yes inside of all of us there's a woman at the well tonight inside of all of us there's that experience that we don't want anybody to confront there's that experience in our past we want to keep hidden we want to go to the well at that perfect time when nobody will say nothing i'll just blend into the crowd or there will not even be any crowd i don't want anybody to know who i really am but there is a man called christ jesus by the power of the holy ghost has walked into this house tonight and if you could hear the words if you'll be transparent if you allow god to expose and confront the issues you can move into a dimension where we can bring hear me where god will bring true transformation into your life there's a face-to-face coming of you and god there's a face-to-face experience with you and god the god of more i said the god of more how many more jason and maria's how many more backers how many more carolines how many more josh how many more melissa's how many more joanns how many more christians how many more paulos how many more amandas how many more edwins how many more jonathans how many more genies a course how many more marthas how many more billy joes how many more edith and teresa's how many more rondo and marks how many more david and tijuana's how many more dorothy's how many more patinas have many more lindas how many more leases how many more lens are out there how many more hands how many more cindy's sister cindy how many more little girls that just need a ride to church how many more young boys just need a little ride to church it'd blow your mind i just said it in our staff meeting at six o'clock the number of grandparents that are dropping kids off to church every week at our facility mind-boggling dropping them off and leaving because their kids just want to come to church happened tonight happened tonight it'll happen sunday i want to go to church no mama no daddy grandmother drives them to church drops them off i'm telling you there's a god of more in operation right now there's a god of more and there's a great contradiction that's about to be demonstrated in our lives what you thought was going to be disaster god's going to bring great triumph and defeat in the principality of hell you just wait it's happening i feel it's so strong i'm so stirred right now in the holy ghost i feel an unction that i don't know that i've felt in a long time is standing behind this pool i feel a holy unction from above i'm so stirred right now for a multicultural revival i said i'm so stirred for a multicultural revival i'm talking about i said it already in my and my message every nation every tongue needs to be represented in our church you got to start opening up your mouth and become contagious god just didn't see in your sister mary here by accident god didn't just send you guys by god didn't send the smiths here all the way from tennessee driving over an hour and 45 minutes one way now they're getting relocated god just doesn't do that by accident god doesn't move the weavers from from mississippi all the way here and them just come here and i could go i don't want to leave anybody god just didn't align the pieces of of life's great puzzle and it just be by accident he's got every peace and order he's getting us placed we've got to wake up to realize even in the midst of what appears to be chaos what appears to be disaster what appears to be just every time you turn on or every time you listen every time you look at something it's so disruptive in our world but i'm reminded when in genesis chapter 1 in genesis chapter two this whole world was dark and full of void but you don't get too many verses i believe it's verse three or verse four and god said let there be it was dark it was void there was nothing but when the spirit moved and god spoke things started happening god's getting ready to do some supernatural things in your homes in your lives don't let the darkness fool you don't let the chaos discourage you keep your ears tuned because sometimes god whispers it's that still small voice that speaks and you know everything's going to be okay i don't know how i don't know when it's going to be all right i ain't weathered all these storms for it to go go that bad god's brought me to this season of my life i'm gonna learn from what i've been through but i'm getting ready i'm getting myself i'm getting my life ready for what god has for me next because he's a god of more lord thank you for your word god i don't even know there's no way to end this service other than to say god seal the word in the hearts seal the word in the spirits seal the word i i wrote today come with an expect seal the word in expectation and god i believe halabo shanda we can plant and reap quicker than nature quicker than what nature says we can plant and reap in the evening plant in the morning reap in the evening i believe it can happen god can give us things we didn't build god can give us lands that ain't god can do anything right lord seal it by your spirit in the name of jesus we pray hallelujah amen and amen
