Summary
Summary prepared by Acts 2:38 Life from the transcript below — the preacher’s words follow in full.
The Hour of Prayer at the Beautiful Gate
- He opens by reading how Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, where a man lame from his mother's womb was laid daily at the gate called Beautiful to ask alms.
- Seeing Peter and John about to enter, the man expected to receive something; Peter answered that silver and gold he had none, but what he had he gave: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
- Peter took him by the right hand and lifted him up; immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength, and he entered the temple with them walking, leaping, and praising God.
- He then leads the congregation in prayer, asking God to touch and encourage them, strengthen them, and make them more like Him for the fields already white to harvest.
Scriptures: Acts 3:1-8
How Big Is Your Bowl?
- His thought for the morning is a question — how big is your bowl? He reads that give, and it shall be given unto you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom, and the measure you use is the measure you get back.
- The lame man surely kept some kind of cup or bowl out as he asked alms; the preacher contrasts the big bowl of real need with the little bowl of those who empty it out as soon as it starts to fill.
- He tells how, as children taken trick-or-treating, they came back to the car after each house and their mother emptied their little buckets into a sack, so they returned to every door with an empty bowl — and had candy for weeks, because the bowl was empty.
- What is given runs over so that someone else can be blessed too; as you send it out, it comes back.
Scriptures: Luke 6:38
Prayer Is Our Lifeline
- More than money, his subject this morning is prayer: prayer is our lifeline, our heartbeat, our communion with God, and when we skimp on it we push it aside to whatever time is left over.
- He reads that the thief comes not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly — and the adversary, he says, is stealing our prayer.
- He asks the congregation to measure the past week: how much time went to recreation, to work, to housework and yard work and social media — and how much of it was God's time in prayer?
Scriptures: John 10:10
Lifting Up Holy Hands
- He reads the word that men are to pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
- He stops the message and has the congregation do it: eyes closed, hands lifted high to heaven, praying aloud for every spoken and unspoken need and every name on the board — glad that God hears, that He heals, and that He delivers.
Scriptures: 1 Timothy 2:8
Daniel Prayed Three Times a Day
- Lifting up hands in prayer runs throughout the Word: Daniel prayed three times a day.
- He tells of the prophet who was a man of like passions, as the Bible says, who prayed that it would not rain, and the heavens were shut for about three and a half years — and prayed again, and God opened the heavens and gave rain.
- We are even to pray for those who despitefully use us, pray for our enemies, and speak good words to them.
- He asks again: how big is your bowl — what is the measure of your prayer?
Scriptures: Daniel 6:10
When You Can't Pray for Yourself
- When we really don't know what to pray, or how to address God about a situation, the Spirit himself makes intercession for us.
- His mother, weak in her sickness with cancer before she died, told him there were times she could not even pray for herself — and that is when the Spirit kicks in and says, I'll handle it from here.
- He tells of Job: his friends sat with him seven days in silence, then spoke only accusation — you've messed up, God has your number. God rebuked them and told Job to pray for those men, and when Job prayed for them, his healing came and he was restored.
- When you get your focus off yourself and begin to pray for him and for her and for them, good things are headed your way. How big is your bowl — will you pray for the one next to you?
Staying Up the Pastor's Hands
- At the hospital this week he learned that a man's heart had already grown its own bypass around a blockage to keep the blood flowing and keep him alive; somebody here, he says, needs a bypass, because their arteries have gotten stopped up.
- The cares of life grow up and choke out the Word of God and the power of God; he asks, how much prayer — how big is our bowl?
- He recounts how Joshua was sent out to battle Amalek, and as long as Moses' hands were raised Israel prevailed, but when his hands grew heavy Amalek prevailed; the men around him set him on a stone and stayed his hands, and Israel came out victorious.
- We need pastors who will pray for their church, and a church that will pray for their pastor; he has the congregation stand, lift their hands, and pray aloud for their own pastor's healing.
Heard from the First Day
- He returns to the praying man Daniel: the messenger told him, fear not, for from the first day that he set his heart to understand and to chasten himself before God, his words were heard — even though twenty-one days passed and the answer did not come right away.
- Thank God for worship, for singing, for running the aisle and dancing — but God is going to hear your words; He wants to hear what you are crying out to Him. How big is your bowl today?
Scriptures: Daniel (book-only, as spoken)
Cornelius: Thy Prayer Is Heard
- He tells of Cornelius: a devout man, an educated man, a praying man who gave and treated people right — but he was lacking something; he did not have the Holy Ghost, and you don't want to miss the best thing this side of heaven.
- As Cornelius prayed and sought God, he was shown in a vision to send for Simon Peter, who would tell him what he had to do; the angel's word to him was, thy prayer is heard.
- Don't push the worship aside, don't push the dancing aside — but don't forget to pray.
Scriptures: Acts 10:31
Prayers That Are Not Gone
- His grandfather was known as a praying man: the neighborhood could hear him back in the woods behind his house, at an old stump that was his stump, praying for his family, his children, his grandchildren, and his church.
- He remembers a praying sister in his home church whose grandchildren spent the night and fell asleep to her praying, and woke with her still praying; her son remembers wrapping his pillow around his head at night to sleep through his mother's praying in the next room.
- Sitting with him at a gas pump, his grandfather's eyes filled with tears as he charged him: don't forget to pray for your uncle and your aunt — his own two children who were lost. He died before either one received the Holy Ghost, but both have received it since: he may have been gone, but his prayers weren't gone.
- He tells his own story: a frightened teenage boy at an altar call who felt a preacher's hand on his shoulder — son, you want to go to the altar and pray? — then nights of fear and walking the yard until he got to an altar himself; God forgave him and filled him with the Holy Ghost, and the prayers of those men, though they are gone, are still at work.
The Final Drawing: Vials Full of Odours
- Now comes the drawing he has promised all morning: he reads how, when the Lamb had taken the book, the four and twenty elders fell down before Him with harps and golden vials full of odours — which are the prayers of the saints.
- How much prayer have you got laid up in store over in heaven? When you are dead and gone, how much prayer is stored up for your lost loved ones, for your children, for your grandchildren?
- Those odours are a fragrance: as a smell of cooking draws your attention in a city, our prayers are a sweet smell to God — the incense of the old worship is now the prayers He comes into His house looking to smell.
Scriptures: Revelation 5:8
Lay Up Treasure the Thief Cannot Steal
- He reads the word: lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts and where thieves do not break through nor steal. The enemy may take your health, your home, your job — but he can't take your prayer.
- To lay up is to keep a reserve: his mother, battling cancer, reached the place where she said, I can't even pray for myself — but the reserve was there. His grandfather has gone home to his reward, but the reserve laid up for his lost son and daughter was still there to call in.
- America is falling apart at the seams and the enemy is pushing his agenda on everybody, and the church needs to pray; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord will raise up a standard for those who have a bowl full of prayers stored up.
Scriptures: Matthew 6:20
The Lord's Hand Is Not Shortened
- His last scripture: behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear.
- He gives the invitation: if you do not have the Holy Ghost, you are going to need it — receive it. Have a prayer journal, a prayer closet, a set prayer time; get a big bowl of prayer, so that when trouble strikes you can thank God that you have already prayed.
- He closes by leading the congregation, heads bowed, in a prayer of humility — asking God's healing virtue for their bodies, their families, and their church, and presenting themselves before God as yielded vessels.

thank you Pastor Hold'em and what an honor it is to be here among the Corinthians they men I am blessed to be here abundantly blessed man here in the singing makes me want to sing turning his teaching this morning brother Keith man makes me want to teach folks don't miss the good one all of you that went down here he done one awesome job and did I understand correctly that one call to make all them sounds Wow well I'm
not a duck hunter they said it's kind of addicting and I try to stay away from addictions but it is honored to be here with you regret that Pastor Josh Hold'em is not feeling well today and our prayers are reaching out to him and now to all of you because when pastors affected it affects the body it'll fetch the church my pastor brother Gary hold them honor their being service with him and that sweet wife of his over there sister hold him
I love this couple from way back from way back and Corinth holds a special place for me some of you younger ones are not may be familiar with Daddy bill Frazier and with brother Danny Frazier but the keys dead but they were both very instrumental but the Danny was especially in bringing me to God bringing me to God and
after I started pastoring the church many times he held revival for us at Decatur well thank you and they told me only have two twelve o'clock and we normally get out around 11:30 11:45 fix me something to eat while I had to carry on these next few minutes but no really really tonight that's gonna be part of my message you'll gather in whenever I kind of cap off a little bit I'll try to get you out of here by 12:00 and if you have to leave I do understand that but if you don't have to leave you need to wait for the final drawing amen
let us go into the Lord of the Lord so you can be this morning but into the book of Acts chapter 3 and verses 1 reading down through verse 8 Acts chapter 3 and verse 1 now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer being the ninth hour and a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called beautiful to ask arms of them that entered into the temple who sent Peter and John about to go into the temple asking arms and feet are fastened in his eyes upon him with John said look on us
and he gave heed unto them expecting to receive something then Peter said silver and gold have I none but such as I have give by then in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk and he took him by the right hand and he lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and he leaping up stood and walked and entered with them into the temple walking and leaping and praising God amen
would you pray with us right now in the name of Jesus Lord we love you and we give you praise and honor and glory this day god I ask you to help us Lord as we minister your word God that you would touch this congregation today and help them and encourage them and strengthen them lord help us all to be more like you and to work in the labor in the fields that are white that are already to harvest and I ask of it in Jesus name and everyone say Amen and God bless you
you might be seated again think brother Josh Hold'em for this opportunity to be here and regret the situation that's going on but I'll pray he'll be back in with you in the saddle giving it his full force and I know he will be but today as we enter into the word the word that I read to you is very known to all of us we've read this and been preached to this and looked at this but I want to bring to you today
a little thought and my thought is simply this of how big is your bow just in a question form how big a you're Bo Luke chapter 6 and verse 38 says give and it shall be given unto you good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over shall men give into your bosom for with the same measure that you meet with all this shall be measured unto you again brother Frazier
as you send it out it's coming back and so today I ask how big is your bow man thinking along that line and the scripture that are written to you of this man that laid there by the temp for asking arms now
we're in the world today where there's a lot of stuff going on and people have the little signs sitting on the side of the road and saying you know would you help me I'm this I'm that I need food or whatever but you hardly ever see one that says will work for food they don't just give me something give me something and our society today is kind of wrapped itself around that our government is kind of threw that out there and we're dependent on the government and depending on somebody else to help us and so again my thought is how big is your bow the slain man land that no doubt he had
some type of a cup or a bowl that he was seeking arms after for help to carry him of course he was crippled and he was known as a and how big of a bow if I was in his shoes how big of a bow what I've had out there arms arms then we'd want a big bowl or as some of those connivers do they've got got the little bow arms arms and and their drop it in that little bony arms arms and when it starts filling up you know empty it out
reminded me of years ago when we were just kids my mom had carried us out into trick-or-treating we don't do that now but when we were kids before we got in church we went trick-or-treating and my mom putting me and my brother and my sister out and
we'd walk over to the house you know knock on the door ring the doorbell if they one there this is probably before door my house but uh we take our little baskets or our little cups up to the doors in our own would say trick-or-treat you know that's what you're supposed to done and they were looking to our bows and they would put candy into those bows
we came back to the car and my mom will take those bows that we had are those buckets whatever we were carrying I can't even remember but I do remember she had a sack in the car and she would take our bows and she would dump them into that sack we go back to the next door and went knock on the door and they were looking that's all you
you poor children you don't even have any candy we climb back in the car and I don't think my mama had a deal of doing this but she'd him still mad again because she didn't want us to spill that and she didn't want us to eat it you know how kids are and we had candy to eat for weeks after that it's
because our bowl was empty our bowl was empty but I want to speak today true Jim we look as we think of this lame man seeking arms and yeah I want a big bowl because my need is great I need more than just a little it takes a lot to get by and the Bible says that as we give so shall men given to our bosom pressed down and shaken together and even who running over why does it run over it runs over to give to someone else and I allow somebody else to be blessed also what
more than speaking of monetary goods money that we desire and that we need I want to speak this morning for a little while on a little subject called prayer brother mail what has this got to do with prayer well you're gonna hear me out here in just a few minutes wait for the drawing
prayer is our lifeline we have got to pray folks when we skimp out on our prayer we kind of sideline the pram we'll grab it if we have time we're doing while we're running down the Road shopping on coffee and eating a snack cake to get to work on time and we'll throw out a word or two but I'm talking about real Ginuwine prayer unto God it's our heartbeat it's something that keeps the church going and keeps us alive with God it's our communion with our God
John chapter 10 and verse 10 says the thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy I am calm he said that you might have life and that they might have it more abundantly I feel that this day and hour that the adversary the enemy is stealing our prayers stealing our prayer without a hen race
how much time have you put in this past week in prayer how much time have you put in in a recreation how much time have you put in in work how much time have you put in an housework and cleaning yard work feeding the animals sin after the cattle whatever you may have and then how much time was God put into that the adversary is stealing our prayer time our social media we stay on that for hours what about God's time we'll kick him on Sunday morning for about an hour and a half two hours of maybe God's time the word teaches us throughout it that were to pray it has the answer brother Keith said of everything that we face
first Timothy chapter two and verse eight says I will therefore that men pray everywhere lifting up holy hands without wrath and doubting would you do that right now right will you sit close your eyes and lift your hands high into the heavens and pray god you're our prayer answering God you hear us when we pray every unspoken need that has been brought to you today God every outspoken need every name that's been on the board God I'm glad that you're here that you heal that you deliver that you are our present help lifting our hands and lifting our hands in prayer throughout the Word of God
Daniel prayed three times a day you can read this in the Book of Daniel chapter 6 and verse to him he lies it was a man that was like us and like passion as we are the Bible says and he prayed it just simply prayed that it would not rain and the Lord shut up the heavens for approximately three and a half years and he prayed again and God opened the heavens and it gave forth rain it even tells us
you pray for those that despitefully use you pray for them that despitefully use you pray for your enemies speak good words unto them brother Fraser friend doing so your heap coals of fire upon their hand how big is your brother mail what is my prayer my prayers out what you're talking about I hope it's what you gather with me today scripture even teaches us that
when we really don't know what to pray for our sails and how to address God about the situation the Bible tells us that there is the spirit that makes us intercession for us well when we can't play like we need to pray
my mom she's been gone now for a little over six years she died of cancer but she told me one day and her seeking sickness and when she was weak she said son sometimes I can't even pray for myself I don't know how strength to even pray for myself and that's when that spirit kicks in and says I'll handle it on from here I'll take care of you from here on out when you're unable to get ahold of God the way you want to has there been times with any of you that you feel like your prayer doesn't even go through the ceiling then it bounces back at us sure we all face those time we worried about job and all that
this a man went through and everything that he faced and those good friends that came and for seven days could not even say anything but just sit and looked upon that they'd served and the failure and the sickness and the problem of job what is wrong what has happened to you man their minds are beginning to turn
and when they begin to turn and they begin to speak it wasn't good words you messed up you've done wrong God's got your number boy and I'm paraphrasing God knows what your being God knows what you're doing in the wrath of God is upon you and man couldn't any of them speak good of Jovana they could think about his he's messed up and at the end of it God bows up on him
he steps out and he said what's wrong with you guys job is my sermon he's done nothing wrong and I'm gonna ask Joe to pray for you but wait a minute come look at all they've been saying about me hold on look what they have brought before me all this accusation and God says job you praying for those men and
when job prayed for them his healing came he was restored with all of his animals he was multiplied his children he had the same amount and none was more fairer than the daughters of Jehovah it was only when he prayed for those and when you pray for others hear me today good things are headed your way when you get focus off for me myself and I and you begin to look at him and you better look over at her and you see them over there and you pray for those and you pray for him and you pray for her then God's gonna do something for you
how big is your bow will you pray for me brother Keith do you pray for me brother brother for the whole new pastor holder pray for me now God says take it you pray for Eli and you pray for this one and you pray for her and you pray for them how big is your ball we stopped this morning and kind of measured this past weekend the time that we spent in prayer which bow would you feel help what do you have a bow up here did you take time to pray prayer is our lifeline it's our heartbeat
I was at the hospital this past week a man from our church his father was having part of his lung taken out from cancer and a neighbor of mine that I've invited to church many many many times was there have an open-heart surgery at the same time I didn't know that it had and his daughter's came out we're talking with us and they said that they got in there and they had called him back and kind of refresh them on what's going on and he said that one of those blockages that heart had already made a bypass
they did already bypass that blockage to get blood flow to get things to keep it alive it knew that it's going to do that somebody here today I'm not trying to pick on the one but needs a bypass surgery your arteries have gotten stopped up with the cares of life the Bible speaks about the cares of life growing up and choking out the Word of God and choking out the power of God how much prayer how big as our bows how big as our bows today
we read so many things about so many others in the Word of God about prayin prayin Korean war prayer words were prayer turns the situation's around with it prayer amends the wrong and amends to trouble even Moses and Aaron and heard we've heard the stories off times of these men and how that Joshua was sent out to battle against a Malay and the Bible tells us as long as Moses's hands Israel would prevail but one of his hands are grew heavy and they dropped down to the side Amalek prevailed
commentator after commentator will relate and say that this that Moses was doing it was an act of prayer that this leader that this man of God over this church and over this assembly of people the church's prevail in the church is growing things are happening amen lives are being changed families are being put back together miracles are being performed but that man of God grew weary that man of God his hands grew tired and it's those men that were around that begin to notice hey wait a minute as long as pastor's hands are up in the air
we're prevailing we're winning but when his hands are down we're losing and so a bird and her brother Eli brother come up here just beside brother hold him we're gonna let you be brother Josh and I know that's tough situation but take out on either side of him they set him down they put a stone underneath him and a stone underneath both hands and they stayed his hands
we need not only pastors that will pray for their church but we need a church that I pray for their pastor we need men and women that's not a saint to step up beside their pastor say I'm with you pastor we're gonna do this thing we're going to come out victorious we're going to see victory at the end of this day a prize
here's what I want us to do right now this young man is standing with brother hold them I want you to stand or cross this congregation and I want you to lift your hands high for your pastor right now and I want you to lift his hands up until the Lord God I'm believing you God as long as we're lifting up the hands of our pastor in prayer as we're lifting up holy hands and hands onto your car
they're gonna heal past or hold on right now we're gonna move God into that stomach area and you're gonna make hole and you're gonna clear out things and God I believe you right now to heal my man of God in the name of Jesus come on I want you to lift your voice up to God first Timothy says I'm lifting up holy hands lifting up holy hands would you give the Lord a good hand clap of praise right now thank you God for what you're doing thank you God for what you're doing hallelujah god bless you you might be seated
in the Book of Daniel this praying man that prayed three times of day says here then said he unto me fear not Daniel for from the first day that thou did a set thine heart to understand and to chasten thyself before thy God thy words were heard
but that sink in I heard your words from the very first days been 21 days he said it's hard to seek God and to know and to have an answer and it wasn't coming it didn't happen didn't receive that immediate miracle and answer from God but the angel of the Lord came and said from the first day that you started prayin I heard your words your words
thank God for worship thank God for singing and music and with beautiful here this morning thank God that we can run the aisle and dance under the presence and the anointing of an Almighty God but you know what God's gonna hear
God's gonna hear your words God's let me hear what you're crying out to him over how big is your bow today how much prayer are you crying out to God God desires you not to pray unto Him and he said and I am come for thy words I believe in running the isle this brother that ran the Isles God bless you I'm for that
we've got a 77 year old man that I said are young men the same he around those Isles God's Word teaches us gives us to praise and to worship God and to lift up our voices and praise and adoration to this great God when we sing our songs oftentimes our songs are giving praise to our God some of our songs are prayer unto God we can't do it without you never would have made it without you God so many things that we have it is centered and it is focused around and on thank God for prayer
I love to worship God I love good singing and I love to see people get happy and dancing in the spirit I love to see some of our sisters and our brothers come out my brother is a kind of wild dancers at the church
our sisters are a little more modest could I say a little more reserved you know they get out in the out and they do the little jig right that by the pupil tell his brothers get out of the way when they get to dance and they get wild or dancing and I think that's all right we're giving God praise well you can look can too then you test them up
that was a man by the name of corneas he was a devout man he was an educated man he was a a praying man who was a Christian man he was more Christian than a lot of Christians are today but he was lacking something in his life
he didn't have the Holy Ghost and cannot say that they were that offensive talker words to nobody if you don't have the Holy Ghost you're missing out on the best thing this side of heaven whoo but this man was a devout man he loved God he went to church he gave he treated all the people that he was away right and well but he was praying and seeking into God and God begin to saw a vision unto Him God began to reveal unto him when he said
you send the job but for one by the name of Simon Peter and he's gonna come and he's gonna tell you what you've gotta do but you can read it for yourself in the book of Acts chapter 10 and verse 31 the angel said unto Him thy prayer is heard do you want something from God you're gonna have to play oh don't push the worship aside don't push the owl running aside don't push the dance in a way but don't forget to pray don't forget to pray
my precious grandfather he's passed away now for several year almost thirty year and I remember as a young man living in the grace Chapel area we would go there to visit and my grandfather would be up in the woods up and behind his house praying and I remember that brother hold on one of the fondest memories that I have of my granddaddy Charlie may all you could hear him that was timber been cutting that was an old stump that was his stump
he would go there and he would pray the neighborhood around about the neighborhood that's what they talked about they could hear old Charlie might yo back off in the woods behind his house praying for his family praying for his children praying for his grandchildren god save my children don't let him die lost God move in my neighborhood move among cars this place moving my church he was known as a praying man and
a lady came to our church Baltimore Turpin pastor hold and remembers mom altar Pam she would get to testifying and she'd testify but I'll prove that she was a praying woman she prayed for me she prayed many many times for me her
grandchildren at the funeral will begin to tell about going and spending the night at granny and Papa's house and how the way up in the morning granny's in their prey granny's in there crying out to God saying oh I wish my mouth would be quiet so I could go to sleep but I finally went off to sleep and she was still pregnant and I thought man that's good she's got a prayer life but no
her son brother Stevie Turpin which still attends our church he said I can remember as a young man coming in at night and hear my mom in her room for a union and I remember going and laying down on my bed and taking my pillow and wrapping up my head so I could go to sleep because those two people I made mention to you today are gone but their prayers are lingering on
I remember my granddaddy sitting in the car with me he loved going he couldn't drive but he would join him with his grandkids that would take him places do you like driving fast and we like driving fast but I remember selling one day at gas pump and he looked over at me and tears begin to well up in his eyes and we're getting it rolled off of his cheek and he and
he couldn't speak my name right my name is welven and he would call me welding or weld welding he said don't forget to pray for your uncle junior don't forget to pray for you ain't no that was his two kids that were lost and didn't have the Holy Ghost I said granddad I won't do it
he died and those two hadn't received the Holy Ghost but from then to now both of those have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost he may have been gone but his prayers weren't gone those prayers that his throughout there was still vibrating back and for bouncing off the walls into their hearts and walking into their homes you say well what's my prayer when I'm dead and gone my prayers I don't know they're not northern oh wait a minute wait a minute okay I told you hang around for the drawing revelation hold on this minute
but the keys made mention about we've known each other from way back little boys running around and this daddy came to our church for the Danny Frasier and
I remember sitting toward the back and he's giving altar call and they used to do it all different than we do it today but I want you to everybody stand won't ever had by out every eye closed Here I am standing up you know maybe got a piece of gum in my mouth Shawn on it and hoping my momma don't see me
and all of a sudden I felt a hand on my shoulder open up one I looked over to see who it was it was brother Danny it was a useless sort of guy and I looked over in but his head was bowed and he was standing right up next to me and he squeezed my arm and he said
son you want to go to the altar and pray man fear gripped my heart I swallowed that coulda gum no and just rub the back of my arm and every step put his hand on my shoulder and pat him on the back and he said son it's not me it's the Holy Ghost I'm sitting at my knees are knocking my knuckles are turning white by the back of the Pew get him out of here god I started praying get him out of here get him away
finally he turned and he drifted away from that day God started dealing with my heart I couldn't sleep good at night I'd wake up fear sweeping over my dad I lost got out walking the yard mom and dad thought
somebody was trying to break into the home one night me and my brother outside when I clock the morning fearful afraid we open the door and all like to had a heart attack mom realize the Sun God wants you to live for him we've been praying for you get to an altar pray to God ask him to forgive you and to bless you and to help you thank God I did that it's kinda ironic after I think about it after 40 something year when I stepped out of my seat scared to death 16-year old boy on the your right side about midway back I
stepped out scared to death didn't know how to pray didn't know what I was gonna do when they came to an altar and I felt that hand in my back even so much that I turned to look and see who I stepped out in front of her nobody was there
could it have been that hand from the nights before from a few weeks before so he goes playing for you God forgave me and God filled me with the Holy Ghost how big is your bones but the Danny's gone daddy Bill's gone but the prayers on account the prayer with his church the time they stood in here when nobody else's hair and stress there you keep your hand emergency fill it up move among this city move among this neighborhood those prayers are not gone well let me just relate to you
in the book of Revelation chapter 5 and verse 8 and when he had taken the book the four and twenty elders fell down before the lamb every one of them having harps and golden vials full of odours full of odours the next part says what which are the prayers
which are your prayers which are your prayers which is how much bringing you to how big is your PO how much prayer have you got laid up in store over in heaven
my precious senior Saints tonight when you're dead and calm how much prayer have you got stored up for your lost loved ones for your children for your grandchildren hear me tonight prayer is our it is our heartbeat the enemy the thief wants to steal our bread full of odors which are the prayers of the saints but also these odors are translated into aroma a fragrance you walk into a place a city downtown someone other and all of a sudden you mmm that smells like barbecue that smells like fried chicken that a robot comes and gets your attention and our prayers unto our God it's his attention
Old Testament you read about them burning the incense why don't we have incense burning here why don't we have some candles why don't we have altar of incense burning here whether this incense where this aroma cawing up before God it's because our prayers our prayer is that that God is seeking after when it comes to his house when it comes to this place of worship he's looking to smell a sweet smile and that wants to attract his attention how big is your mmm our prayers our sweet-smelling to God
a couple more scriptures it's just about 12 I've got two minutes give me that Matthew chapter 6 and verse 20 he says but lay up for yourselves treasures in every how biggest my boom how much prayer have I got later how much treasure do I have in heaven now listen to the rest of this here you said we're neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where the thief do not break through and steal
he may take your health he may take your home he may take your job but he can't take your prayer folks we need to pray we need to pray America's falling apart at the scene we need to pray the enemy's coming out and pushing his agenda on everybody and everything the church needs to pray oh yes we do yes we do yes we do
would you stand when we denied him the word lay up lay up for yourself treasures means brother hold on some reserve lay up some extra put it there because you may get a dress shaped like my dear old mama did
battling that cancer demon and say I can't even pray for myself but reserves is out you may be like my precious grandfather that's then gone home to be his reward but those son that son and that daughter that was still lost the reserve was still there call in the reserves
we've got flooding coming our way let's call them the national reserves we need some more help here it's beyond our ability to contain this you know what sometimes when the enemy comes in like a flood the Lord's gonna raise up my standards that you hold on they've got a bowl full of prayers stored up you back up you can't come no further they've got two months late up
my last scripture Isaiah 59 and one said the Lord's hand is not shortened that it cannot save and neither his ear heavy that it cannot hear one on they say I want to see your dance I wanna see you run the aisle now I want to hear you I want to hear you you know I know it's 12 o'clock I don't know that lunch is beyond us but I can't help it today
if somebody feels like you need to pray would you come right quick I don't ever want to leave a service without giving somebody an opportunity to see how big is my Bogart have I got just a little bow do I have a big bone the figure this morning freedom you do not have the Holy Ghost I encourage you to receive the Holy Ghost for Jesus breathed on those disciples and they said we save you the Holy Ghost you're gonna need it it's going to carry you and
find you a place to play have your prayer journal have your prayer closet have yer said prayer time whatever you got to do get a big bowl of prayer and when trouble strikes when situations arise thank God that I've already prayed god bless you god bless why don't we all just
bow our heads right now and read this a token before God let's do it as a token of prayer humility before your lord we ask you for the healing virtue of God flaw in our bodies as well as those of our family our church members
we pray O God that you'd move in great ways through spiritual needs for our guidance of the wisdom knowledge and understanding Lord we present herself before you asking that you take us as a yielded vessel presented holy and acceptable in the God we recognize it as a reasonable service God who were asking you to honor the prayers of this people today we'll give you praise and glory and honor for what is in Jesus name Amen
